We're talking 30%-50% performance increase on my setup.
Just letting you guys know if you had worries after playing the demo.

There were no loading times in mid-conversation/cinematic, right?
I had 1 occurence of loading mid-conversation, but it was relatively short. Don't know why though, I got SSD's, 8 gigs of ram and 3,4 ghz i7.
But again, only happened once so maybe it was a fluke.

Usually DirectX11 helps alot with the performance of the CPU and GPU.FurousJoe wrote...
I played about 3 hours today of the final release and the performance was improved a lot, didn't try anything other than DX11 though, but it was very apparent here.

In the demo it wasnt activated so maybe thats why you had a bad performance with the demo^^

DX11 was in the demo, you could see from my ati render output, but obviously it wasn't finished or optimised yet as evidenced by my substancial fps increase in release version.

In the demo, during the scene Flemeth walks through fire after rescuing you I was getting around 10-12 fps on Crossfire 6970s.

Does it render smoke any better?

Haven't put up a comparison as far as the actual graphics go yet, will get back to this tomorrow, but at that point you'll probably have hundreds of posts already spilling the beans
I run Crossfire 5870M and there was no drastic spikes in FPS, so my guess is it will run great on your setup. Using the latest notebook drivers btw.

Yeah just wondering because particle effects are always hard to render by CPU unless you offload it to GPU. Even Counterstrike Source still runs like ass when you toss a smoke grenade.
Well I run it on Very high with the H-Res texture patch and all the DX11 settings checked and I didn't see any performance wobbles concerning smoke.

Did the fire appear overly yellow in the retail version? It seemed a little off in the demo.
I believe it does yes.

Well it's already all over the preorder unlock thread so I guess no harm done.
I used an East Asian VPN to unlock it.
