What's that supposed to mean? BioWare released those tools for DA:O. And yes, it is not supported because they obviously can't control the content. Mods are great, BTW. Some even fix bugs that BioWare could not be bothered with. I hope the toolset for DA2 will be released soon. As far as I know it depends on voluntary contributions of BioWare employees or them being allowed to work on them whenever there is some spare time. That means it takes a while before they get released. I'll be patiently waiting.Kerric wrote...

I'm hopeful that this is a sign that there is indeed a toolset in the works.

There's no toolset for ME2 (and a long list of other games as long as my whole body, provided I'm allowed to use a 4 pt typeface to print it out), but there are plenty of mods. Give it time, or a lot of coffee. There's a lot one man can do with a hex editor and GIMP if he really wants to.

Based on what Bioware people have said, the existing toolset should work for some things as is, which I've pretty much confirmed myself; it also means existing player created tools will work, sometimes only needing minor adjustments to be fully functional with the new file format. The two biggest things we need are the game resources and the ability of the toolset to read the DA2 ERF format.
Actually they said it'd be possible with a few updates. Fans can probably do what needs to be done if Bioware doesn't, if it is indeed only a "minor" update needed.

DAO had a toolset.. no reason not to hvae one for DA2.. and all they have to do is just update the toolset. Why a step backwards from DAO is beyond me, but it takes away a huge part of the game. It was nice having player created adventures. Some of them were QUITE good.
I have no idea what BW was thinking...
