PC Advantages Over Console
* PC lasts forever, unlike consoles which usually die when their successor comes out.  This also means that the games last forever (just look at StarCraft: Brood War, they still sell that in stores after 11 years, millions of people play it online using Battle.net daily, it has an awesome ladder and stat tracking system, it still gets updated, and it is the best-selling video game of all time [excluding World of Warcraft]).

* PC has free online play (unlike Xbox Live).

* PC has several features that consoles don't.

* There are more buttons (i.e. like 40 keys on a key board + mouse + joystick).

* Quality is always improving (instead of having a fixed limit on how good graphics can be).

* Patching/updating games is a lot easier.

* And several other good features.

* There is no need to have a television with certain cables to play PC games (or a TV at all for that matter).

* You can mod games (without breaking the law).

* It's easier to get tech support for a PC game than it is a console game (since usually console game errors are caused by problems with your console and/or the game disk/cartridge).

* You can modify your PC more than you can your console.

* Opening up your console (usually) voids your console's warranty, but opening your PC doesn't void your PC's warranty.

* It's not illegal to mod games.

* You can't get your PC banned.

* PC's are generally more reliable than consoles (i.e. PCs can't get the Red Ring of Death).

Console Advantages Over PC
* You don't (ussually) have to go buy upgrades and whatnot all the time to get a smooth gameplay experience.

* You can trade in console games.

* It's a lot easier to return a console game to a store than it is an opened PC game.

* Not all computers run all games (and not all games run on all computers).

* New consoles (ussually) cost less than new computers.

* Console games are generally cheaper than PC games.

* Most PC games don't let two people play the same game at the same time on the same computer together (unless it's a hotseat game), but you can do split screen on most console games.

You summed it up pretty fairly there.

I have been gamin since pong came out and at one point or another I have owned every major PC or console system (except Sega CD, which my best friend had and I never bothered with).

That being said, since the das of the c64 I have alwas felt that PC gaming was superior (for me).

I LIKE to tinker with my games and i LIKE to tinker with my computers.

Personally, I find sports, racing and fighting games better on console BUT I tend to not like those typs of games, so for me i will always stick with PC first. that being said, I don't fee the constant need to trash people that use console systems. I reserve that hatred for Mac users.

There are two things consoles are good for... sports games and fighting games... other than that they stink...

PS if you can't run ALL games on your computer for a goodly 5-7years you did something wrong....

pc gaming will always truimph over consoles, no matter what.

you summed it up pretty good, don't know where you heard that pc games cost more than console games, considering xbox 360 games go for about 60 bucks and pc games go for 50.

you also have the internet, and with that you can download your games instead of having to always go to the store to buy your games.

Sorry but anyone who thinks console gaming is better clearly has never experienced the gaming experince on a pc.

I think it depends on the game. I have DA for PC, and I love it, and I can't imagine it being better on console. However, I'm going to be getting ME 2 for 360. I just think that 3rd person shooters are better on console. Also, ME is such a cinematic experience I like to able to sit back and relax with my controller, as opposed to PC, where I have to be sitting upright.

* Console games are generally cheaper than PC games.

Only false statement. Generally, PC games are 10 or so dollars cheaper than their console variant.

Actually, if you know what you are doing, you can build a PC nowadays for about $300-500 that would last you roughly 3-4 years, and would be able to run all games made in those years, although in the last year, would probably have to be set down to medium settings.

Then you could just buy a new Graphics Card, which would probably cost about $50-$100, which after 3-4 years is actually cheaper then paying for XBL for those years. And then every ten or so years you just do a full upgrade to specific systems, and voila, spend another $500-$600, and your in the clear for another 10 years, which is what you normally would have spent on the next-gen consoles. And this is right now, since they are constantly reducing how much it costs to build computers, in the next five years, it might cost $500 or so to make a high end computer that would last you 6-7 years, rather then the $800 or so it costs now.

So yeah, just throwing that out there that Consoles are not exactly cheaper these days, and probably won't be for much longer, as a new system will be coming out soon, which will cost money, while I am still using the same computer I built for $800 when the 360 came out, with only $200 or so cost in upgrades.

Economics is fun ^^

*edit* We also have dedicated servers, and don't have to pay for patches/DLC/updates often, in most games on both the Xbox/PC, PC gamers get free updates, Xbox gamers have to pay to get it past Microsofts XBL, which is annoying as all hell to have to constantly buy new map packs and updates for TF2 or L4D on my 360, but get it for free on the PC, also get it earlier on the PC!
