So, mine shows up in the list of DLC (the only one at the moment). Just to be sure, I checked the addins folder, and its in the proper location, with the black emporium file showing up just fine.

However, I've yet to get a letter. I installed the DLC during my 'first' year (when living in the slums), though after the game began, and am now living in the mansion, but never have gotten the letter.

Perhaps that is your issue. The letter is in the slum house once you get there the first time. That said I could enter the emporium and it showed up on the map, even without having seen the letter or been to the slum house.

This question may not belong here, but it is black emporium related: I have a rogue character and I have the dog in my residence, but I cannot figure out how to summon him in battle. He doesn't show up on the quickbar. Any ideas?

He should show up on the abilities part of your character and guess you can drag him to the toolbar from there

I've had the same problem with the DLC showing up in the wrong folder, this is a bug in the installer. It seems that the installer assumes the /Users folder to be on the same volume as the /Applications folder. In my case, it just created a folder with my user name under /Users, and copied the DLC there into ~/Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age II/addins. You should be able to find the DLC with spotlight. It's really bad practice to put the DLC into the home folder in the first place... this should be fixed!

Turns out I just had to drag him to the tool bar from my abilities menu.

@Rimfrost I see no such thing on the main menu. :(

Sorry I mean does it show up under Downloadable Content? I'm wondering if perhaps you should reinstall it.

I had to 1) download it from this website, 2) install it and once I did that it shows up under downloadable content (together with sebastian that I have bought). I also think you need to be logged in the first time you relaunch after install to get it certified.

I haven't had time to play the game just install it.

For me it was there at the DOwnloadable content section.. but it still didn't appear on the map..

Yup, same problem for me. The issue for me was that my Home Directory is not on my main hard drive (I have an SSD) If you go to your main hard drives users folder, you will find the addins folder under Dragon Age II. Move that to the correct location under ~/Documents/Dragon Age II/addins/da2_prc_one

I've found the addons folder, but where's this user folder? Its not showing up for me in-game at all. Neither is the exiled prince.

My issues: The addin folder is where it is supposed to be--within documents and under my user. NOTHING added is appearing. None of the items are in my house, there is no quest for the Exiled Prince, and no Emporium. :( I've tried to follow what was said here but evidently it isn't working.

Alright I solved the problem, maybe the solution will work for you too. Apparently the installer created the addins folder under a new user. This appears to be a bug. I found the addins folder using spotlight and then moved it into the bioware folder in my documents folder under the original user. Now the dlc should appear ingame.

thank you so much!!! after spending several frustrating hours,  i finally have the black emporium- thanks to Drizzle!  :o

Is it safe to assume this was being caused by moving the user directory to another location and was therefore fixed by rectifying this directory pathing mismatch?

If I just recently bought the game, like on May 27th, 2011, am I entitled to this DLC for free?
