Hey all, I've had constant crashes with large areas in the NWN2 toolset with Windows 7 32-bit until I made a change to the boot.ini (or Windows 7 equivalent). I was messing around with the 3GB enabler, and after I made the change using the command prompt,
BCDEDIT.EXE /Set IncreaseUserVa 2900
I haven't had a single crash yet. Apparently that change allows more than 2gb to be used for windows applications. The toolset runs flawlessly now. Thoughts?
By the way, I can't get the 3gb enabler to work with the toolset, not that I need it anymore.
Possible fix for crashes in Windows 7?

Hey B-man,
I have Win7 32bit as well, but I haven't as yet had any crashes and I have had some larger areas open for edit - these include some of NTB's landscapes - or at least what portions I have edited for my use.
BUT, just in case I was just lucky and the aforementioned crash is yet to surface - could you explain what you did in a little more detail?
Thanks.

I'm using a rather mediocre laptop, so that's probably why crashes were happening on a regular basis.
At the start menu, do a search for "cmd," and then run the program that pops up as an administrator. Then type exactly:
BCDEDIT.EXE /Set IncreaseUserVa 2900
Restart, and that should do it. Of course, since this is changing the boot.ini, you never know what kind of bad things will happen from computer to computer.

Ah, well I might as well leave things be, my PC is a dual quad core with a gig of video. Thanks though for the info.
