An Anders Thread for the Spoiler Set...

RULES: This is not a sacred shrine to Anders, but a place where discussion is encouraged alongside gushing, tears and whatever DA2 inspires in Fanders and non-Fanders alike. Yes. Fanders.

Note: Fanfiction.net is BROKEN right now.  Broken, broken, broken.  There are workarounds to post new stories, but it means anything posted since it first broke (about a week after the game came out) until they fix it won't have character flags.  This link will take you to the general Dragon Age catagory, since the best most people can do is list Anders' name in their descriptions.  At least until the site is working properly.

There's a quest in Kirkwall where-in Hawke tries to buy into a Deep Roads expedition. You have to find Anders in order to progress in that quest (and it's part of the Main Quest, I believe, so you can't miss it).

 I just got him and did Tranquility, before I had to go to work.  ANDERS!!!  My only problem right now is his first conversation back at the clinic, of course I chose to flirt outrageously, and he wasn't having that.  Hope I didn't scare him off...

The fact that Anders isn't played by Greg Ellis anymore makes me a sad girl. Greg has like, the perfect sarcastic voice. I'm not hating on Adam Howden or anything, just a little saddened by this. Either way though, I'm totally going for Anders.

I have to agree, I miss Greg Ellis's voice. It's not that the Adam Howden isn't good, but he just doesn't sound like Anders to me. Yet.

it pretty much grew on me. i feel it fits rather nice.
when i'll get my copy for pc i'll do a playthrough in german, because i quite liked his voice in that.

yeah, i felt that way too. but it's definitely worth it. i was nearly loosing patience (i usually rush in my first playthrough, shame on me) but it's just mindmelting sweet later on.

I just started my first playthrough a few hours ago, and I have a question for you guys. My FemHawke is going to romance Anders, so I was wondering if there's more than one conversation to start it. The first flirty option with him was... really poor timing, in my opinion. The poor guy just killed his friend out of mercy, and I wanted Hawke to comfort him instead of calling him sexy. xD I hope there's another chance later on.

I know, I giggled like a maniac when he said that.  XD

I like Anders so far.  The different voice is weird, but it's not bothering me as much as I feared.  The only time I got a bit wibbly was when we bumped into Cullen with Anders in tow.  "See, Anders!  That's the real you!"

Not much has happened in the romance department so far.  I've been picking every single horribe flirt line, because that's how I roll my first playthrough of any game: just blunder through it.  XD  I'm going friendship path, so hopefully that won't come back to bite me in the ass later.

I loved his dialogue when he comes to visit Hawke's dog.

The more I think about it, Anders and Karl's relationship is pretty sad. Having to watch someone you love being cruelly turned into a tranquil just to ensnare you into a trap. The templars have hit a new low.

@wetnasty, See I don't get that really. Karl's not like Namaya ugly or anything and he seemed pleasant enough when he wasn't, ya know, all tranquil.
