Hm. Well, I suppose the paldrons could go over the jacket, sort of like a mantle... that's a lot of layers, then.

Yeah, the patchy sleeves always get me. It's the same design as the Tevinter Mage Robes he wore in DA:O (upgraded), yet those don't seem like they'd be patched together. It's confusing. I still like the design a lot, though.

I believe it was someone here who aptly dubbed them "Chastity Robes".

I thought the pauldrons were part of the half-jacket thing. They seem attached, especially if you compare the open version to the closed one.

(chastity robes indeed)
And here's the concept for details:

Hello Anders people. I have a question for you.
How would you describe his outfit? Or rather, what would you call the various components of it? The feathered green part seems to be a shrug or a bollero jacket. The brown bit seems quilted, but I'm not sure what I'd call it--a robe? A coat? It's a bit like a cross between the two. Underneath that he just seems to have a long white tunic and green slacks.
Or he really feels the cold, or rather he tries to cover the fact that he has become so skinny with layers and layers of cloths.
Really, especially if he ties up the "coat", how much time does it take to undress... (or dress, for the matter, but...yeah)
Edit: I just noticed from the concept art that he too has a murder knife?

Yeah, he actually has that in-game too. I didn't notice at first, but somehow the idea of Anders with a murder knife makes me giggle.

It took me about six seconds to notice the double-entendre. Then, I laughed raucously.

What I love about that is you say "No I will not randomly slaughter people" and he gives you that smile as though it's something that is really HARD not to do.
Hahaha, yes, this. Although I love the smile, it seems like there are other moments more deserving of it. Although it is Grace in there. Once you know what she does, it's hard to promise not to kill her.
I like to imagine that's pretty much Second One of the three year infatuation. Like it all just clicks at that moment.
I love that he keeps smiling when he looks away. kjdbckjbdkcdbn kc so cute. <3
I found out today that it is not Anders-specific. Aveline has that reaction instead if Anders is not in the party.
I hate it. >_< I really liked to think it was just Anders.
Yeah, I realized that on my second playthrough. Bethany gave that reaction to my Man Hawke. Boo!
Oh, well. I still pretend only Anders does it. Same when he saves you from that what's-her-face at the Blooming Rose that mind-controls you to almost slit your throat during the "Enemies Among Us" questline. Bethany was the rescuer of Male Hawke the second time.
But none of that sullies my first playthrough, in which I dragged Anders around everywhere like a little ragdoll and all such cute and/or Crowning Moments of Heartwarming reactions came from him.

So, Anders and Hawke have a matching set of Murder Knives?

Has anyone else really sat down and really thought about the logistics of that clinic? Medical stuff breaks my brain as it is, but thinking about a health clinic in a medieval sewer makes me want to go all Howard Hughes.

The little knife is a nice touch, considering the amount of emergency cutting he probably has to do in his clinic.

He doesn't perform surgery. He "magics" it away.

I think about this a lot, actually. Like, where does he even get clean water? I imagine that's pretty much a necessity.

He delivers children, and I imagine that there are some things he can't just immediately magic (like impalements) and it stands to reason he'd still need to see what he's dealing with, so he has contact with wounds and those wounds have contact with the less than sterile environment in his clinic.
@signcherie Yeah, that too. While he can probably boil it no matter what, it's still not sterile by any stretch of the imagination.

He can summon fire and ice, sterilizing the place shouldn't be that hard.
Edit: Though I think medical hygiene would be an unknown in Thedas.

I don't know how "healthy" it is. The dead bodies over in the corner are there the entire 7 years.
