Nope, I like to jump in unspoiled and with my idealism intact, just it's more satisfyingly horrible when my heart is ripped out of my chest. Hurt me more, BioWare, hurt me more!
Ironically, even when spoiled (I knew about the Chantry thing by accident) I tend to naively believe I can somehow change it anyway XD
Games are so much more addictive when they tear your heart out though! I mean, we shouldn't give them any encouragement or ideas, but they are good at balancing a little fluff with tons of angst that makes us just keep wanting more of the horribleness of it all!
I mean, on my second playthrough now, and one look at Anders and my Hawke just swooned. Even when you know what's coming, you can't help it but play for the tiny happy moments and the emotional investment in the angst!
As long as Bioware keeps writing such gut-wrenching and emotional romances/companions, they can have my heart, and do whatever they want with it!
