All of this. Made it feel like Hawke was just one of them, a member of their circle of friends (or not-friends) that they occasionally looked to for a bit of extra help, rather than a Leader of Men and Saviour of All like the Warden. Hawke's just, like, this guy, y'know? Luckier than some, sure, and a talented fighter, but not really anything special on the surface. He's basically Arthur Dent with more punching.

This.

I felt like, sometimes, if there was anything special about Hawke, it was just that she had managed to bring all of these people together. She was the common link between everyone, but, at the same time, not the center of the universe.

Uh-oh, top. Um, um...

A perfect example of why I want to shove Sebastian up an Ogre's ass.
We're in the Dalish camp, doing the "Murder of Crows" quest, and he's like, "So many souls, waiting to be saved!" All excited, like the Dalish WANT to be "saved"?
I wish Merrill would've said something. >.<

Oh god.

I bet the Chantry exploded on a Thursday. This is why Hawke hates Thursdays. Something not right about them.

Agreed completely. Hawke never could get the hang of Thursdays.

I cannot unsee Hawke as Arthur Dent now, and I'm not sure I want to.

Hitchhiker's Guide FTW!

Fenris walked out on me. :( This is depressing.

It's kind of weird how the two male romances are opposites at least so far (Act II). After the love scene, Anders was all I LOVE YOU CAN I MOVE IN and Fenris is like, "I can't handle this. This was a mistake" and won't talk to me.

And it really does feel like a mistake. I feel kind of dumped. Maybe if I get a different version of the wall slam scene it will feel better. Fenris just looked kind of surprised in the one I got.

But I will stay loyal, because knowing he's waltzing around with Hawke's favor while Anders is living in Hawke's house would make me feel bad. Maybe it gets better in Act III.

Anders made available his plans to to blow up the chantry. Just, you now, in a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign saying "beware of Mabari".

I'm always struck by how the Anders and Fenris' romances are polar opposites, much like their characters. Hawke would give his eye teeth for a happy medium. The Fenris romance tortures me in Act 2, and the Anders one tortures me in Act 3, so it's like a choice between pain now or pain later.

It does get better in Act 3, though! Waaaay better.

To be fair, it has helped ease traffic congestion in Kirkwall.

I'm a "glass is half full, but that is mostly because of tears, blood, sweat and ashes" kinda guy.

Someone totally needs to make a hapless Arthur Hawke now. The game would suddenly feel so very right.

Yeah, and there goes Anders in my head again. We're already dead. A quick death now or a slow one later...

I've only tried to romance Fenris the one time, and I bailed on it when he ditched in Act 2 and ran crying to Anders. For all it's ****ed-upness, I get a lot more emotion -- good and bad -- out of the Andersmance. Maybe it's just my opnion on Fenris in general, I don't know. It's the drollness of him, the monotone; there's definitely wall which I just don't have the patience to unbrick, I think. I keep thinking that I should see it through to Act 3, but I just don't seem to be able to care enough.

Truth be told, the only other romance I dig is Isabela's. I'm actually kind of sad they fixed Varric's end confusion if you sleep with Isabela first. I enjoyed the idea of Hawke, Izzi and Anders sailing off into the sexy sunset together.

To be fair there was a decent conversation going on, looks to have been from last night.. but then the conversationlists went to bed and the swooners woke up ^_^

I like Fenris.
I just don't like his swooners. <_<
It's like they're incapable of having conversation once they hear his voice.

That's exactly how I feel about it as well.  Squee has a place.   But 24/7 squee just isn't my thing.  That's a lot of soiled panties after all.

This so hard. ;-; I'm a Fenris fangirl, but I like him because he's an interesting douchebag with a bad personality. On a different Fenris fan thread I tried to start up a conversation about all the times you wanted to smack Fenris (lovingly) and some of the fangirls went beserk and said that every one of his actions was totally justified and he was an hero, dammit.

I've been lurking on this Anders thread, but you guys are much cooler. <3

Any babies on your doorstep, yet, Kawamura?
'Twill happen.

I am having serious issues with Anders today.
Anybody else have the double-convo glitch?
I just had two of the SAME conversation with him. It's after the Justice quest. After we finished talking, I clicked on him again, and it started the same conversation. So I picked a bunch of neg options thinking it wouldn't matter, since we're at full friendship.
And I get....-15 Rivalry?
>.> So either I wasn't really at full friendship...just really close.
Or the game just butt-raped me. Now I have to reload.

Glad to know the romance gets better in Act III. :) It's a good thing I love your voice, Fenris!

I played an aggressive Hawke so I could punch the demon in the Deep Roads, and now I'm back to sarcastic Hawke. Going for Hawke's rambling outside the chantry after Saemus' death.

And luckily, no. I still have medical school. I'm not doing medical school with a tyke.

Yeah, the last two characters I did, I got a problem like that.

I went to the chantry, distracted Elthina, and when that cutscene ended, I was back at Anders' clinic. When i spoke to hime agian, he went through his spiel about needing me to distract the Cleric. Okay, crazypants, I guess you're blacking out or something 'cause we just did that. I left Darktown, went back to the Estate, and there he was with the completion dialogue. 'Twas strange.

I've had issues with Aveline like that, too. Doing the Long Road quests, I went to the room to talk to Donnic, and when I clicked on the door, a cutscene with Viscount Dumar started up. Very off-putting.

Has anyone ever seen a real-life Anders? I just walked past a real-life Zevran. Wish I could have snapped a pic but I'm pretty sure that's like weird-pervy if not illegal.

So. Four bear traps or five?

I mean, I don't want to look like I'm afraid. Just. Well-prepared. IN LACK OF CHILDREN, VIGILANCE.
