Mage Pride is better than Fenris' theme... because it sounds almost identical but it's about mages. Thus it would ****** Fenris the hell off and I love it all the more.

I love Fenris, I just also happen to love pissing him off about mages at every given opportunity. I'm his own personal troll.

Okay, this is a little late because I was catching up but it's totally relevant (it has Anders!). People were talking about the passage of time and someone even mentioned Assassin's Creed. Thus, this:

Edit: New Gaga? How did I not notice that before!!

I'm pretty sure at this point I am in a terrible position to judge if a song is or is not about Anders. Every song is about Anders now. Especially this: www.youtube.com/watch :wizard:

I saw the video for that the other day. It instantly made me think of this: Beware, cracktastic!

On a less weird note: Mirrorball by Elbow is quite a nice one. Generally describes the feeling of being in love with someone, so I guess it can apply to all the LI's really.

That's an entirely different source of tension, though. I don't know how well it would have held up if it was supposed to stand on your grief concering the death of Leandra/Bethany/whoever else would have to die alone, given the fact they don't really have enough presence and development to really impact the player at that stage of the game completely on their own. A big part of it is the denial of agency, the disgust at how she dies, etc.

If you had a Redcliffe-like decision (ignoring the everyone lives happy ending), where the tension was derived from having to make that choice and being responsible (i.e. giving you agency and making you wish you didn't, the exact opposite of the tension that All That Remains is built on), the multiple options work. The presence of choices would force you to dwell on the fact you personally are responsible for the possible deaths. That sort of thing would have just conflicted with what ATR was doing, since it'd still ultimately be Quentin's fault that everything happens (and Quentin is a completely unsympathetic character, unlike Connor, so it is incredibly easy to put all of the blame on him), so you would have just missed out on both the guilt associated with agency and the powerlessness associated with the denial of agency.

edit: WHY DOES THE FORMATTING RANDOMLY **** ITSELF

I was rather thinking of an entirely different set of circumstances, not necessarily involving Quentin at all. And I wasn't trying to imply that the All That Remains quest is flawed and needs to be changed. I was just following a train of thought from comparisons between the Connor/Isolde decision and the Leandra lack of decision, and putting forth a scenario for discussion. If it comes right down to it, I wouldn't change a thing about All That Remains, though I do like to think about other possibilities for creating drama and angst. Because I enjoy drama and angst. Which is probably why I am an Anders fan.

I have to agree, Mage Pride is obviously good too, but I like more the Fenris' version...I sually keep it in loop while working if I need to relax. That and Tavern Music when I have to wake up xD

Do you guys know what that song that plays during battles in the Hanged Man is called?

Also, Judas is all sorts of amazing. So much better than Born This Way, it's not even funny.

I've been going on about this song but I doubt anyone's checked it out so here it is: Welsh band Joy Formidable - I'd never heard of them and I was thinking about Anders listening to my friends humongous 20gig music folder and this came up and it just fit. I love the combination of their voices.

I think it's the very last bit of the Tavern Music song from the soundtrack

Yes, it is in the Taver Song track, as someone mentioned before me.

Jealoussssssssssssssss.
I've seen two. IN MY ENTIRE LIFETIME. I'm not joking.
Not many people sport beards in these parts.

@Ninche - Where is this? I must see it. :D

Really?

I've seen a lot of hipsters. They grow beards ironically. Or something. And a lot of homeless guys, who grow beards with no irony whatsoever that I know of.

Nah I'm pretty sure it's not the last part of Tavern Music, it's something different.

edit: and then again I'm not 100% sure. Been a while since I last heard it ingame. I need to get around to downloading the OST already.

Regarding choices: I personally prefer to have them than not. It makes replay more interesting. In my Mass Effect games, I have one Shepard who is trying to save the whole universe, one bit a time. I have another who plays out like Riddick. I love the fact that I can be attached to both versions.

That being said, I think they took the route they did partly because of the complaints about how the first Dragon Age wasn't dark enough. Giving it a tragic ending and taking away certain options helped give DA2 a darker feel.

Part of my issue with All That Remains (and keeping Isabela) is that some of the options are linked to dialogue options that don't seem like they matter. Isabela only comes back if you do everything right and pick #3 (when she supposedly isn't listening according to everything you've been told). I think people thought they had less choice than they did because some of those choices were really subtle.

My older brother, father, husband, and a bunch of male friends all have beards. I don't think I know many guys that don't have at least perma-stubble. To me going a long time without seeing facial hair seems weird to me. Maybe that's why I prefer the way Anders looks over Fenris.

Ooh, that's pretty. Have added it to my favourites. Think I'll have to check out that band now. :) Thanks!
