Oh, question for you guys!

If two of the next game's LIs were brother and sister, would you be put off, intrigued, or not bothered?

I wouldn't buy it. One of them would obviously end up dead soon anyway.

This is a good point.

That would be a good tactic for BW not having to do all bi LIs in DA3 while avoiding backlash. The one with the same gender as your characters dies <_<

I do hope they still to the all bi scheme in the future though.

Why a mage?

Because I've gotten quite used to seeing boys as the ones that swing swords and girls as the ones that wear dresses robes and do magic.

Having Anders as a healer pleased me. Usually that's the "girl's" spot.

So you're suggesting more boys in dresses?
Hm. Something I'm not entirely opposed to. ^_^

Well I don't know about that, but they should give males more options to flirt with other males, even if it doesn't lead anywhere.
I mean, male Hawke should totally be able to hit on Sebastian.
Bi scheme in the future ftw.
I sincerely hope they continue that.

I always approve of boys in dresses and girls with huge swords.

I would have LOVED to see that. Wonder how Seb would react. Wonder how Elthina would react also, since it'd probably take place in the Chantry.

I felt like the bi scheme was forced in DA II. I would much prefer them to write it into a character rather than to just flip the bisexual switch on everyone. Your character should be able to hit on anyone of course, but it shouldn't lead anywhere on a non bi- or ******- sexually written character. That's just me though. I feel like the some companions should be straight/gay/bi whatever instead of making them all one of the options.

I like everyone being bi. It means I, as a player, get to pick who I want to romance. It doesn't at all feel forced to me. It just feels like I get to be who I wanna be and diddle who I want to diddle.

^That's what I'm saying.
Hawke should be able to walk around hitting on whoever he/she pleases.
But I don't want EVERYONE want to horn on Hawke. That would make it less fun.

How is that fun at all?
That's why hitting on Seb is so much fun. He's such a super-religious-freak that it would be great to gauge his reaction.
If EVERYONE wanted Hawke that would be stupid.

Well, Hawke could hit on Aveline and Varric, and it didn't lead anywhere.

Huh would be nice if some opposite gendered LIs rejected straight Hawke with "I'm only for same gendered Hawke sorry!"

...If nothing else but the inevitable "why isn't X bi?"

Edit: I hated how Aveline seemed to be completely oblivious to you hitting on her. It's not the option but the complete lack of reaction from her. (well other than the kiss at the end).

I don't mind it so much in DA2 since we have such a small pool of LIs to choose from. If there were a dozen characters you could have a full relationship with it would be much easier to have some of them exclusive to one gender.
But when you've only got four LIs to choose from - half of which will be practically off-limits to a large number of players anyway - it makes sense to give the player as many options as possible. If it comes at the expense of the story or characterisation it's unfortunate, but I'd much prefer that than to have options taken away.
Given that they didn't really address Fenris or Merrill's sexuality in DA2, we can't say for certain which way they would swing without Hawke's influence. Fenris defaults to Izzy, but is that because he's straight in those games, or just because Izzy was the only one who showed an interest?

Hell yes, I just said diddle.

And I find all bi LI's no more problematic than a huge inventory or health potions that work instantly. Both those aren't really natural, but they make the game more fun for me.

This pretty much sums up why I always end up with my canon Warden/Hawke being warrior girls. Also one of the reasons why I love Anders with my 2H warrior Hawke. She's the big strong girl with a giant sword and he's the perpetually distressed damsel.

It's a sarcastic icon I believe during the converstion where Varric asks you what do you plan on doing in Kirkwall. During Act 2 I believe.  Hawke says something like Where would I be without my trusty dwarf  I'd cry myself to sleep without you orsomething. and Varric goes "I know I'm damn near irrestible Hawke but you're just to high manitance for me."
