You certainly achieved your goal Ms.Hepler. Anders imo, was probably the best companion besides Varric in the game. It was shocking to see the length he went to, to achieve his goal. And honestly, it was so hard choosing him over Sebastian, who was so broken over the incident. But him & my M!Rogue Hawke are going to be dealing with the consequences, especially since Anders is still by his side after everything.

This.  Maybe grabbing her and hardcore making out would have been a little odd at the time, but just reaching out to caress her cheek or something would have been nice.

It's going to be such an challenge to not romance him next playthrough, especially since my PC will be siding with the Mages again, because of Bethany. Those Big Ol' Brown Puppy Dog Eyes, that scream "LOVE ME", are going to be hard to resist.

I always had faith in Hepler. I think she was stir bat crazy to taking on Anders, considering the level of complexities to his character. But I am so happy to see her growth in Bioware from DA:O, when she blew us away with A Paragon of her Kind, and now DA2 when she carefully constructed and threaded together an NPC that would singlehandedly throw the story into a curve ball.

More so since she was taking two already fleshed out characters from Awakenings and merged them into one. Now that had to be incredibly difficult, but the challenge turned out gorgeously.

with hawkes background i'll always have problems too not choose the mages, to be honest. narf. maybe that's the plan.

Aye, same here. I was playing Hawke as 'I'm tired of this (insert profanity here)" Which is interesting given she started out as a nosy do-gooder.

I would love to see something (DLC?) about Hawke after Kirkwall, even if that's probably not going to happen since s/he disappears. Although Varric says the LI stays with him/her so s/he must have disappeared a while after the events. I can only imagine what Revi and Anders would get up to.

The chantry-nuking apostate and his BFG-wielding girlfriend. Ha!

Damn, now I want to start my Male Hawk mage playthrough.

Whether you love Anders or hate him, I'm thrilled that he's had such a deep impact on so many of you. When we started writing, I said that I would claim victory if I got even one player to change their preconceived ideas of who to side with based on the actions Anders and Meredith take. It sounds like we've achieved that. People tend to think of being devoted to a cause as a noble and heroic thing, but it's actually pretty frightening if you think about what it means to have an abstract ideal which means more to someone than their own or anyone else's life.

I never set out to side one way or the other. I wanted, and believed a peaceful compromise was the best option - I wanted to believe the Grand Cleric and Hawke would mediate the situation, that Meredith could be convinced to let her grip slide, that Orsino could be talked down; then Anders strips Hawke of that choice, because that is exactly what's stopped mages from gaining their true freedom from the Circle.

If a mage Warden stops the Blight and saves Thedas, that is still not enough to convince to convince the Divine that mages should be allowed further freedom. Their control is either absolute, or absent (Tevinter); there is no compromise, no middle ground.

I love it. I love that I was forced to commit myself to a cause instead of waffling in the middle. I love that there is no clear-cut BBEG (not even Meredith), but most of all I love that Hawke is not a hero, and am struck at how well-chosen the "Champion" title really is.

Yeah. Even before that edit my mind instantly went into gutter mode. *sigh* We're all hopeless.

To be honest, I got all tingly whenever Vengeance!Anders made an appearance. It just sort of... I don't know, radiates power. Particularly fun watching glowy-blue Anders square off with glowy-red Meredith during the final fight. Sort of poetic really.

As far as Anders is concerned there is never an inappropriate time for penis jokes, dun matter how smitey and vengeancey he is at the time

I never noticed the red and blue bit; it makes sense. And I like seeing Justice!Anders. It's like watching a lightning burst of power.
