Oh so you can let her die from the taint? Okay I knew about that, I thought you could just kill her yourself or something and was like WTH O.O

See Shiba5's post. I can't bear to watch it again. I makes me want to load up my endgame save and smack the **** out of Meredith. Grr!

Makes me want to smack the **** out of Hawke. WTF is wrong with you dude?! He's all ho-hum.

Yus, that too. Everything about it is just wrong wrong wrong ugh!

It's that same psycho Hawke that turns Fenris over to Danarius.

Oh, that explains it then.

In a way I'm glad these videos exist. Even if I play a complete douchebag Hawke I'll never be able to do either of these things.

Edit: Oh, brb, makin' risotto. Yum!

What THE HELL???? "Do what you have to do"?? Wow this didn't make me sad it made me ANGRY! Uh templar siding Hawke disgusts me! Man am I in the mood to stomp on Meredith's head.

so... as grey as this game's moral compass is, we can all agree that's messed up, right?

changing topic slightly but does meredith really grab your LI during the final fight? i've never had that.
maybe because it takes all of never to finish her off. the arishok and the rock wraith were so much harder.

YOU can kill her?? Oo How? When? I surely didn't know!

(Possibly because I'd never tried a non mage character until just now *cough*)

One of the worst things for me about this video, too, is that none of the other companions seem to give a ****. "We best get out before they lock the doors"?! Varric! That was Lady Sunshine! Don't you care at all! :crying:

Right, both of you make plenty of sense. I suppose I'm also surprised that we get no comment from any of the other Qunari either: the gatekeeper lets us in without fuss, the Arishok is willing to talk to Aveline about the prisoners without protest, even if he turns on her, the Qunari asking about the lost patrol isn't bothered that a woman stole his duty.
Part of this is my own expectations on what freedoms they allow women after Sten's conversation, I know, but I expected it to be a bigger deal. It would have been interesting to see that particular gender issue directly addressed, but I suppose it could also have pissed a lot of people off at the same time.

I am sorry but the Fenris scene has nothing on Bethany. I could almost see a real ***** of a Hawke giving Fenris to Danarius, I can't see any Hawke ever just handing his sister over to Meredith to be executed for no reason at all.

Speaking with a female isn't a retcon, since females still hold powerful and respected positions in their society.  They just aren't warriors, which the Arishok does comment on if Fenris has to set up the duel.  When Fenris mentions it, the Arishok says something like "If you know our ways then you know I won't fight a woman" and Fenris says "Aha, but she isn't a woman; you've declared her a basalit-an!  Ha HA!"  And the Arishok says "Damn, guess you're right."

And then Hawke and the Arishok battled fiercely for approximately 2 seconds after which a booming voice called down RUNSCRIPT KILLALLHOSTILES and the Arishok keeled over dead from an aneurysm. He should have gotten that thing checked out.
Hawke did the shimmy dance and then fashioned his skull into a gravy boat.
The end

What? =]

I actually think I've only seen it once. I scarred me and gave me anxieties at a late age in life. I just have a thing about dogs in films in general - nothing gets me like dogs dying or being hurt or aboundoned in any way. Marley and Me just made me want to jump off something, or when I saw there was a dog in I am Legend I was like ohhh nooo i know where this is going. Also I like to torture myself with that husky film - Eight Below or something? It's not even THAT sad but it's just like - making me weep like a demented little crazy person.

So yeah, tranquil Anders, Anders being hurt, Anders being killed = slaughtering puppies.

I'm a cat person, but it doesn't matter. Any sad thing with animals gets to me. I cry at Free Willy. It's kind of pathetic.

I haven't seen her do it, but I'm hoping I will when I next fight her. I'm part way through Act 3 now, so it shouldn't be long.

It's not your LI necessarily; I think it's just whoever happens to be within reach.  I've never had her grab Anders, even though I've started taking control of Anders during that fight and positioning him right in front of her face the entire battle (occasionally whacking her with his staff to try and get her attention, lol).  For me it's usually Hawke that she grabs, although I've had her grab Aveline as well.

This is weird, but I actaully really liked watching that episode the one time I caught it. I was a depressed young laddy and, instead of having to feel angry all the time, I got to sit down and have a good cry.

Never watched it again, mind you. I'd just turned on Futurama hoping it'd be the one where they make fun of MASH.

I honestly didn't feel anything during that scene.  I just watched it and then went back to this thread.  I guess the Bethany thing just touches me more because I WUV her.

Maybe they don't see the differences between genders in the other races? I mean, the quinari take on everyone but themselves seems to be a bit of "you're all pathetic..."

Hopefully this isn't what Pounce went through.  Years of staring off into the sea, waiting for Anders to come back.

Not really... I honestly thought that scene was boring.  I would never do it even though I dislike Fenris, but the scene just felt emotionally detatched.  And where the **** did fenris anger go?  He just accepts it?  After trying to kill his master for who knows how long he just goes?  Bizarre.

I like it, because it's a damn good demonstration of everything you're chosing to do when you're siding with the templars. Bethany is a Circle mage, and you're Annulling the Circle. It's not "Annulment, but oh she's a nice girl, we can't apply it to her". It's partly why I think sparing the mages that surrender is a bit of a cop-out - if you've chosen that path, you should know what it entails and be determined to go through with it regardless.
The Circle is full of Bethanys - beloved siblings or children - and you've chosen the path that requires you to kill every last mage in the tower. It shouldn't pull any punches in making the player face up to that.
