What we really needed to show people what they are choosing when they choose the Right is the apprentices.  I mean, would ANYONE condone it if they had shown the templars slaughtering 6 year olds? No one would accpet that.

I honestly don't follow siding with the templars.  Invoking the Right is calling for the death of many for the crime of one man.  It's just wrong.

I did it because I'm trying to avert the war that Anders tries to start. I kill those mages so that others don't end up suffering.

That said yes I would condone the templars slaughtering 6 years old if some of those 6 year olds turned into abominations (which they are perfectly capable of doing).

That said I can't really side with the mages and feel okay with it. The constant being swarmed by demons and the like made my eye twitch. What I really wanted to do was walk away and let them kill each other.

Edit: As for not being allowed to save some of the mages. I find that fine we only was able to save a handful of mages. Those that begged for mercy and Bethany. I sided with the templars to save lives not destroy every single one.

I doubt I can side with templars and feel okay with it.
Let's start with: trying to prevent war by killing off people, who doesn't have anything to do with cause of the war? Ok they have - they want to be free. And they happened to be born. And that's it.

It doesn't really change anything if you kill them - Anders accomplished what he wanted to accomplish, the death of mages will outright people, and lead to fight, while siding with them make some of them survive, and tell others: "Yes, it's possible".  Either way there will be war, and I never thought there could be any other ending to this all - magers and templars of Kirkwall stopped being important after Chantry exploded - rest of it, is details, it's how person you created/player will respond to this.
It's Anders who made a real choice - not we.

I wish Hawke could go through and kill every child in Kirkwall, because it seems to me that there's about a 90% chance of them growing up to be a thief, smuggler, gangmember or assassin anyway.

Oh nice ridculous exaggerations.

Let's pretend the place wasn't being swarmed by demons and abominations.

Regardless that's not changing my mind. The issue isn't black and white and anyone who tries to get on a high horse just makes themself look ridculous.

And comparing an abomination which you can turn instantly into vs a smuggler and assassin which will take years of training at best is laughable. But do keep going it's amusing.

So... uh... you two going for a rivalry thing or something?

I don't have the link either but I'm near certain he said they would ultimately be made Tranquil.

And that is a better choice how?  Don't surrender and we'll kill you, or surrender and we'll turn you into a walking corpse.  Great options there.

He just hates Fenris. I sincerely doubt he actually thinks he deserves to be given back to Danarius, he was just being spiteful because of their personal differences.

but giving him back is basicly the same as making him tranquil! There's no way anders would wish that on even Fenris

I tend to agree that it is way out of character for Anders. I also have a hard time imagining a Hawke that such an action would be truly in-character for. Even one who couldn't stand Fenris.

I hate even thinking about that scene, it rips me to shreds. Now I need to go look at pictures of kittens. Or kittens + Anders, even better.

Ok, because otherwise that's a reason to hand Bethany over to Meredith. ;)

You didn't really.  It just seems like the same thing to me.  We'll kill you one way or we'll kill you another way.  So effectively no one is spared anyway.

Ack.  Must go find Anders pictures.

Am I the only person whi wishes my F!Hawke could have worn Bethany's outfit? I love that thing.

I have a PC so I just modded a random robe in my inventory to use that model.

The fact that Varric is boobie height and I was wearing Beth's outfit made for some funny screenshots.

Edit: Such as this one.

Unfortunately, though I do play on PC I am modding useless...  Maybe I can find a mod that adds something like this, if not I'll just have to figure it out.  I love you. Image IPB

This mod here replaces the champ armour with Beth's robe.

Sorry I just have to throw this in, here.
It's Rite not Right.
For some reason that was bothering the **** out of me.
Alright, I'm okay now.

No, the Right of Annullment is definitely Right. The Rite of Tranquility is Rite. ... Gaider also has a post about this I will find

Responding to this because it got in after I quoted you:

The theoretical six-year olds who theoretically turn into theoretical demons would, I imagine, rather not do so and would probably only choose ("choose", because how can a child that young really make an informed choice on anything besides what color is his favorite?) to do so if they were in a situation where they or someone they loved were having their lives threatened. Such as a Circle being Annulled.

Also, cats can become demons, too. Fast enough and strong to take down multiple templars.

I was wondering, actually. I thought it was Rite, but then I talked to Ser Karras last night, and the text clearly said "Right." I thought it was a typo, but I started second-guessing myself after seeing "Right" being used so much here.

I love it, but I always get seriously weirded out when I see Hawke wearing it because it's Bethany's. It's particularly unnerving when it's a mage Hawke wearing it, because my mind automatically assumes that Hawke stole it from Bethany's corpse.

Hahaha. That's so disturbing it's funny.

Leandra: *shocked and appalled* What are you doing?
Hawke: Well, she's not using it anymore...

It makes sense.

The Rite of Tranquility is a magical ritual, a rite, where templars have the right to kill mages, so it's a Right.

****ing homophones. I won't remember that.

It's 'Rite of Annulment' and 'Rite of Tranquility' on the Wiki.

But it's spelled differently in some subtitles.

He just hates Fenris. I sincerely doubt he actually thinks he deserves to be given back to Danarius, he was just being spiteful because of their personal differences.

I don't think it was out of characters from Anders, at all, but I really think that sometimes he deserves a punch. "Your sister is a mage, You are just jelous!" The heck, it looked like a child at 5. Not ot mention that Fenris didn't remember anything, so how could he know..but I'm assuming that Anders doscn't know it.
I get his spite for Fenris and Merril, though I still can't understand why he had to be like this with Aveline too...talking about her dead husband playing the bad templar?
Get some manners and tact, really. I wanted to punch him >.<
He has that cruel and childish attitude sometimes...

Speaking of the "siding with templars" choice. I played it once, and I still did it thinking that I was not siding with templars, and especially not with Meredith, and for sure I didn't want to execute the Annulment. I was doing it just to restore some order in that situation. Whenever I could I went against Meredith, I spared the mages and for sure I didn't kill Bethany.

I think it's even more amusing if you have him in your party at the time. When she asks about Hawke and Anders, he doesn't say anything in response to "So, you an Anders, how does that work?" but there's this nice pause between that and "...Maybe we're not the best example," that amuses me greatly.
