And in practice in both Fereldan and Kirkwall the law is bent to suit those in charge.Otherwise those mages wouldn't have been able to be spared.

Missed this one a couple of pages back, but we don't know if the mages in Ferelden would have been spared or not: to my understanding, our character wasn't killing anyone in that tower under the auspices of the Right. They were instead investigating the situation as a neutral party, and taking steps that they felt necessary. Greagoir was still waiting for the approval for the Right when our Warden showed up.
It's a bit of a murky situation - Warden or not, our character shouldn't have been allowed in - but to my knowledge it was all unofficial.

I think one of the things you can tell Gregoir is that you'll do the rite yourself. Been a while since I played but I recall doing that with one of my warriors. Something about better to do it now than later and then you have to kill everymage you come across (and let the abominations take everyone in the top of the tower) so then you and Cullen go backdownstairs I can recall Cullen being satifisfied about it. It's been a while since I played that path though.

I wouldn't have thought him the type in Awakening. However, DA2 Anders seems to be super about commitment.

obsess over Hawke for 3 years> sleep with Hawke> immediately ask to move in with Hawke> ask Hawke to run away with him so they can be together forever (and have babies with him if it's lady Hawke)

OMG... Justice and babies. :blink::D

Justice: Kristoff was married and I was a part of him. Then the Warden gave me a ring. I am already married twice. I cannot get married again. All of this marriage is UNJUST!
Hawke: Tell me about it. <_<
Anders: *still oblivious and picking flowers for his bouquet*

Haha ohh you know somehow I don't believe Anders wold ever like to get married. I don't think he's the type at all.

I now want a picture of Anders and Hawke in wedding dresses. Regardless of Hawke's gender.

The whole "ZOMG I'm a dangerous abomination" thing does put a damper on it, yes   That and "rebel mage" is not the best way to go about affording an engagement ring.

I just think in picking him you're agreeing to have an alternative relationship if you wish - no jewelly, no wedding, no children. Just desperate and passionate love making and fuzzy mind-blowing love ^^ It's so romantic that Hawke and Ander just DON'T need more than each other. It's lovely really. Running away with Anders destroying everything youve built for those 7 years just fits wonderfully with my prioritites.

ROFL, Justice is such a spaz on the wedding night. ^_^

Justice isn't choking Hawke when they have sex! It's just. A hand hug. For his neck. A sturdy hand hug.

My F!Hawke would marry Anders... she's such a romantic. Of course it might be hard to get someone to perform a marriage ceremony for the two most wanted mages in all Thedas :P

Ooh, you get comments from Aveline on Anders during her quest for Donnic. Never saw that before...

I think it's even more amusing if you have him in your party at the time. When she asks about Hawke and Anders, he doesn't say anything in response to "So, you an Anders, how does that work?" but there's this nice pause between that and "...Maybe we're not the best example," that amuses me greatly.

With Anders in the background being all 'I'M STANDING RIGHT HERE D:'

Here... :P

That's true.  Though I think the marriage hurdles are less about commitment and more about practicality.  Can you imagine Anders and Hawke trying to find a Chantry priest who will marry them instead of running away screaming post-Act 3?

You know what makes this even funnier to me? The juxtaposition of the serious conversation going on around this one.

Anders: -unwraps diaper-
Justice: WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?
Hawke: It's a diaper.
Justice: WHAT IS THAT? SOME KIND OF DEMON? IS THIS A DEMON OF SLOTH?
Hawke: No, it's just a diaper.
Justice: IT'S UNJUST! THE SMELL IS UNJUST.
Hawke: Pipe down, will you? You're scaring Hans.

This is why we decided (a million pages ago) that if Hawke and Anders wanted to get married, it would have to be a crazy drunken pirate wedding. Isabela would officiate. A la, Pirates of the Carribbean: www.youtube.com/watch

I never let serious and thoughtful conversation get in the way of a talk about drunk weddings, pirates and buttsex with possessed mages.

Since she has her own ship,e she's a captain.  And since she's a captain she can perform weddings Image IPB

Maybe that's not such a great idea come to think of it.Image IPB

This.

Though damnit if my Hawke and Anders' daughter didn't pop into my head one day, and now I can't get rid of her.

Since my canon Hawke sailed off into the sunset with Anders aboard Isabela's ship, this is now totally canon in my head.

CRAZY PIRATE WEDDING.

Neither of my Hawkes allows Anders to live, so these conversations are always fun to watch - thinking of dead Anders.

I'm not sure if I'll ever come up with a third Hawke character concept... maybe.

Hmm, I would blow up all of Kirkwall if it meant the rebellion Anders tries to start doesn't advance beyond its walls because I expect the war that follows will be antithetical to reform. That's what my character was thinking when he sided with the Templars, not out of any particular love for the citizens of Kirkwall, but the known world as a whole.

I think at that point the war was probably going to happen no matter what happened.  Alistair pretty much puts out there that there was tension between him and the Chantry over him not turning over apostates and that Orlesian nobles were waiting for any excuse to march on Ferelden.  The Divine was already getting antsy over Kirkwall and the Free Marches being overrun by resolutionists.  Meredith was really determined to invoke the right on her circle.  More mages are being born all over the place.

The tension was already there and even if you burned Kirkwall to the ground, there was still going to be huge war.  I don't think anyone could contain something that had been building for a thousand years.

So it really doesn't matter what you do.  I can't see, even if you defend the mages, that any of them are going to survive anyway.

Hence why as I get more distance from the game, I like it less and less.  There's too little to care about and too much futility.  Hawke doesn't matter for **** in this scenario.

CRAZY DRUNKEN PIRATE WEDDING!!! IT IS CANON... AND THERE MAY BE CANNONS INVOLVED TOO!!!

*passes out*

I'm okay. Really.

Edit: Now I'm half tempted to find the first time this came up in the thread. I have no idea where it would be. Back in the low hundreds I guess. Also, why is there a ninja emoticon but not pirate? It is unjust.
