true. you'd be sparring with the master and the most you could hope to do is end up in a tie
Zevran approves of someone ending up in a tie, we know this. That man likes rope.

Hm...yeah I coud've sworn she said the spirit faded a little more either every day or each time it helped her. I forget which.
yeah, but was that their connection or the spirit it's self fading away?
Okay more about Wynne's spirit:
Warden: Why did the spirit choose to help you?
Wynne: I have always had an affinity for the spirits of the Fade. As a child I never feared my dreams, because I knew they were there...
Wa: What about demons?
Wy: I could sense the demons too, and their presence frightened me. It was the kindly spirits of the Fade that took the fear from me.I've always been able to feel the spirits, even if I never saw them. And as I nurtured my talent in the Circle, I became more sensitive.I began to notice, every time I was in the Fade, whether it was in a dream, or in magical practice, that I was being watched.
Wa: Are you sure it wasn't evil?
Wy: It did not feel evil. I never feared it. In fact, it infused me with soft, strange warmth I never felt before. [comforted, joyful] Sometimes I would see it... a glowing, nebulous form. Most times I would just feel its presence--gentle and comforting, but somehow alien.[Trying to put into words something that can't really be described.] I think it is a Spirit of Faith. They have never been seen before and perhaps I am wrong, but something tells me I'm not.It always felt like the same... entity. This one spirit was curious about me and was... guarding me, for want of a better word.
Wa: You mean it protected you?
Wy: There were times, when I was in the Fade, that it seemed to stretch forth to shield me, keeping me safe. [Calm, thinking about something that brings comfort to her.] And I think it gave me strength in my most terrible battles, Ostagar being one of them.
Wa: So this Spirit of Faith is your personal protector.
Wy: I don't know why I was chosen. Perhaps it knew that there was something more that lay in store for me. I like to think that I was given a rare chance, and I'm going to make the best of the time so generously given to me.[Thinking positive, quiet cheerfulness.]
Wa: I can't believe you're spending it here, on the road.
Wy: I will not lie motionless in a bed, with coverlets up to my chin, waiting for death to claim me. That is not the death for me. [She feels strongly about this, and is intense but not loud about it. Quietly passionate, if that makes sense]
The Warden can also ask her this:
Wa: Do spirits watch people like that?
Wy: I suppose they must. It is these benevolent spirits that create our dream worlds in the Fade.
Another convo (with Wynne learning her Vessel of Spirit ability)
Wy: Oh... hmm, that was interesting, and draining...
Wa: What was that? Did you summon the spirit?
Wy: I called forth the spirit that sustains me, so that it could lend us aid. I did not realize it would take this much out of me. [Weakly] It seemed a good idea at the time, if a little rash--I think it may have weakened the spirit a little. [Sheepish]
Wa: So you could kill yourself doing this?
Wy: Well... er, that's certainly conceivable... [Sheepish] I suppose I shouldn't be using that particular trick to entertain children at parties. [Wry, realizes she may have done something stupid.]
Wa: Are you sure you can control... that thing?
Wy: It's not a demon that requires controlling. Really, you need not fear it.I promise I'll be careful. And thank you. Your concern is touching.

Well they aren't soldiers. I'm not sure which part you're referring to, but there's fear involved too. When people panic they do a lot of dumb things- mage or not.
The first FMV where they're all standing at the gate as though they're ready to fight and then just let the templars roll right in. You'd think at the least they would've cast something instead of all standing there like gaping fish. The templars had to be in limited numbers, very close together and all had to go through that gate. A few paralyzing glyphs, glyphs of repulsion and some fireballs and they could've thinned their ranks. Instead they gape like fish. Or that Orsino would've had enough sense (he can take out a mini army of Qunari singlehandily but didn't think to spam fireballs at the chokepoint? Lolwut?) to do so.
If they're so scared it would make sense to avoid the entrance. And fall back with Orsino. Instead of standing there with their staves in hand like they're ready to fight, watching the templars come through the funnel and then when they finally reach the mages, the mages decide to react by attacking or running back.
And I'm not disputing them being smarter than the average commoner. They're just not the sharpest knives in the rack.

Romanced Anders does leave a Hawke who makes the deal with that demon in Night Terrors quest.
wait, really? Nice! Do any of the others have breaking points?
I did just remember..
Apparently on the rival path, when you get to the point with him reading you his manifesto, if you take the top right "You make good points" option that is supposed to break the romance.
I haven't done this and have no idea what is said. But I may be wrong, it was just something I had read.

Qunari like hardass. PMS Hawke even got the mercenary guy to fight with her agains the Tal Vashoth. Almost reason enough to play an aggressive character right there.thenyxie wrote...
Well, I unlocked that with my rogue PT--somehow, smartass that he was, but I would have sworn Fenris still had to ask him about the duel. Maybe not. But I'm amazed this character managed it, considering she veers between smartass and hardass and that's about it. She was honest though.
That... makes sense, actually. I'd been contemplating red Hawke all the way next time. I had no idea you could get him to fight with you! Now I have to try that.

Wynne had a Spirit Stalker. It was just hanging around for the right moment to MOVE IN and start using all her stuff and mucking up her CD collection and putting the jam knife in the butter and stuff.
Putting the jam knife in the butter is an injustice! I would go raving mad if infested with a spirit that did that. A place for everything, and everything in its place! Graaaar!

From the short story:
Suddenly it comes back to me. Justice's voice, my voice, speaking through the rotting face of the body he once claimed. "It is time. You have shown me an injustice greater than any I have faced. Do you have the courage to accept my aid?"
I knew what he offered.
