I was upset about not being able to be an arcane warrior. Like I really wanted to try to fight off a shield and sword with my staff or anybody with a bigger blade.  Point in fact, is in the fade when Fenris turns against my mage pc he took down Anders first and then headed for my mage pc and I was done for in no time flat; and he's not even a bloody templar!

Hell yes. That's what the game was lacking. It would've given mages the ability to enhance their weapons and heavy armor if Arcane Warriors were still around. I was getting sick and tired of desperate mages succumbing to blood magic, when in reality, they would've accomplished more with AW at their disposal. The templar idiots would've been cleaved in two while the mages leave the fight unscathed, protected by an invincible shroud.

Yeah, but the AW arts are supposed to be forgotten. That's why the Warden only learned it from an imprisoned soul and not a living person. It would be kind of odd if the mages in Kirkwall turned to arts they weren't supposed to know anything about.

He did the same thing to my Rogue Hawke. :crying:

He did it to my warrior too.  I wasn't prepared for that fight, I had to do a double take before my brain realized I died.

Well, he didn't defeat my rogue, but he blamed me for ever taking him there, so I never did it again. LOL. I decided he was right. Why the heck would I take people into the fade with me? LMAO. That whole quest now appears so wrong.

He killed my whole party on my second playthrough.  On my first I actually only took Anders with me.  I figured that i was a mage so I would be fine, and Anders?ce already had a spirit in him so he'd be fine.  Merrill... lol, she's already made a deal with a demon once, and no one else is a mage so why can they even go into the Fade?

Doh, I forgot about that, but there were other awesome ones from DA:A that would have been nice. I can't remember what it was but it was way cool :)

Oh yes, I also love how in DA:O it took a gorup of mages and a button of lyrium to send ONE person into the Fade who HAD to be a mage.

Now in DAII Marethari is able to send four people into th Fade none of whom need to be mages BY HERSELF?

Retcon FAIL.

I missed being a Shape Shifter, but then I remembered that hardly anyone is supposed to know about that kind of magic. I wanted to turn into a bear and scare the **** out of everyone in Kirkwall.

You are right they are taught the basics. What I meant was that they more than likely haven't had the oportunity for advanced studies in it and/or experience in combat.

Ah that is true.

The key to a successful mage in DA2 is remaining in the distance.

Not my force mage. I love being on the front lines. :bandit: Does help that I'm not being constantly interrupted. Which is odd seeing as supposedy Force Mages are popular in Kirkwall's circle. Unless I'm remembering that codex wrong.

You may have been right that the resistence movement Anders was involved in was to further his own goals but that doesn't mean he wouldn't have taken the time to arm his fellow rebels with additional skills if they needed it. No blood magic though for him. We don't see it in the game but he does make comments about helping other mages escape the circle and templar/chantry influence.

Yes he says he lead them through the gallows. I believe it was 5 mages he led. Eh. I can't help but feel since he wanted Meredith to evoke the rite and then expected to die he washed his hands of the mages in Kirkwall's circle. He screwed them over for his own ambition. He had no spies working for him in Kirkwalls circle that would've rallied the mages for when the rite was evoked. He was alone. And he left them out to dry. He used them as cattle to inspire other mages to fight.

I responded to this before, but you didn't see it or chose to ignore it.

He wants to fight for those mages. Not on the rivalry path, but you've eloquently explained to us on that path it's Justice who plants the bomb and he wants to die so he doesn't cause any more harm. If you spare him on the friendship parth he desperately wants to make sure the rite doesn't succeed.

Stating your opinion emphantically doesn't make it correct.

Couldn't that be a bit different because you aren't sending one person into just.. the fade. You were sending a couple people into the dream of a dreamer?

Not knowing anything about the specifics of this stuff this is all just complete wash of course. But I would think Feynriel's dreamer-status might have had something to do with it.

EDIT: This was @thebrute7.  I can't believe this thread moves so fast, haha.

I also did not know this. The Dwarven codeces are now a heck of a lot more interesting to me.
Edit: Aww, it's not true. :( Now I feel silly.

LOL now I feel bad.  I do know the rock wraiths were dwarves that were corrupted by eating the primal lyrium, and "the stone rejected them" I know that is in the codex for the monesters.

But the little Fade suicide completely made up.

That's because Circle mages are sissypants and the Dalish mages are not. Obviously. :P

You didn't quote me or say your post was for me so I can't read your mind and say you post was directed towards me.

I'm in no mood for an arguement and to be called defensive. So let's just end this here. We don't agree. We're not going to agree.
