I just got the 'keyboard refusing to work' inside the game bug again, from the first damn screen.  'Press Any Key to Play' rightttt.... <_<  At least this time I wasn't partway through something I hadn't saved for ten minutes, I guess.

D:

I haven't gotten that bug yet. Sounds horrible.

Then again I'm a bit of a save wh*re so every 5 minutes I have saves. (Which means I have about 7GB worth of saves thanks to those massive .dds files )

I can totally see that a person would think Anders hung all mage's out to dry. I mean did you see that the chantry was destroyed? By, who? Right, an apostate, ex-warden, mage.*

Makes me really glad Loghain is dead in all my saves. Last thing we need is him piping up and saying "I TOLD YOU WARDENS WERE ORLESIAN TRAITORS!!"

Don't you know it! ROFLMAO

Lol. That's why I want Loghain back in DA3 - just to see his reaction to everything, especially with Orlais thinking of invading Ferelden again. And...maybe as a romance option. I can dream, can't I? Doubt he will be back...he died in so many playthroughs. :crying:

LOL Isabela's romance cutscene with Anders instead. That is so wrong on so many levels. LOL

I laughed, Anders is skinny, but I don't think so skinny that even a female Hawke could carry him like that...

Male Hawke instead...my imagination says they would be nice and I wouldn't laugh.

My last playthrough I did more than 950 saves...when I noticed I was scared of myself. With the auto-save on of course. And I don't even want to count how many saves are there...pretty much every dialogue scene with my LIs I suppose...

I'm so happy I'm not the only one.

And I did it too. I even have the scenes numbered. Anders 1, Anders 2 and so on.

Speaking of something almost relative, because I've always wondered. Is it just me, or does Anders seem much more comfortable flirting with M!Hawke than Lady Hawke? If so, why is that? Is it an attitude of "hurting people is bad, but if they're women it's even worse"?

Didn't you know that women are scarier than men? Anders may want the right to settle down with a woman, but I'm not so sure he's that comfortable with all that entails.

Edit: For the save numbers. I have over 1500 saves on each of my complete playthroughs

Me too. I got paranoid while playing Origins because it was incredibly unstable on my old machine. It got so bad that I ended up binding Quick Save to my friggin' mouse button, and that's a habit that has now carried through ME2 and DA2. It's to the point I don't even realise I'm doing it, it's just an unconscious finger tap on the side mouse button. I mean, better safe than sorry I guess, and I never have the problems my boyfriend has where he loses a tonne of progress, but it's pretty sick all the same.

@Queen of Stuff I think it's down to what the bioware team thought would attract women v men. Tortured man afraid of hurting you = attractive to women. Tortured man who thinks you're scruffy and wants your body = attractive to men.

MAKES ME A LITTLE GRUMPY.

I tend to F5 a lot unless it's something I know I might want to go back to and film or redo.  Otherwise it's full saves every half an hour or so.  Sod's law dictates that the one time you forget something will go horribly wrong though =]

*goes to count*
1638 saves on my first char, 1972 on my second, currently at 1310 on this one....ok...I may save a little too often. :pinched:

A bit of an off topic question for the thread's resident artists about software you use... I'm getting back to painting and going the digital way this time around. Quite happy with ArtRage 3, but I got a complementary Photoshop Elements 8 with my tablet and been thinking about upgrading. What's the general quick opinion in the topic, is it worth upgrading to the full version or is Elements enough, for example, the kind of work you do?

And, umm, Anders?

I am a step forward in the madness then...I have like "AndAct1", "AndAct2Q", "AndBefJust", "AndGift", "AndRomSce", and so ooooon. I even even some saves because some banters triggered, and I wanted to replay them...I have even "AndJealZev" or "FindNate". Everytime I think "it is stupid, I will play it again and so many times that I'll remember them by memory and I don't need to replay them"...but I save compulsively.

I was upset about not being able to be an arcane warrior. Like I really wanted to try to fight off a shield and sword with my staff or anybody with a bigger blade.  Point in fact, is in the fade when Fenris turns against my mage pc he took down Anders first and then headed for my mage pc and I was done for in no time flat; and he's not even a bloody templar!

Hell yes. That's what the game was lacking. It would've given mages the ability to enhance their weapons and heavy armor if Arcane Warriors were still around. I was getting sick and tired of desperate mages succumbing to blood magic, when in reality, they would've accomplished more with AW at their disposal. The templar idiots would've been cleaved in two while the mages leave the fight unscathed, protected by an invincible shroud.

Yeah, but the AW arts are supposed to be forgotten. That's why the Warden only learned it from an imprisoned soul and not a living person. It would be kind of odd if the mages in Kirkwall turned to arts they weren't supposed to know anything about.

You know, I don't understand why a mage Hawke couldn't have picked up training that wasn't with a big stick. An apostate is the perfect chance for some double class dipping, don't have to be an arcane warrior or anything. Hawke doesn't have to be all HEY I AM A MAGE to pick up some weapons training. They don't have to join the army, but I don't think it takes much stretching of the imagination, especially when Hawke twirls around a stick with a giant blade attached at the end... I just can't imagine him (my Hawke, at least) just sitting around in his floofy dress for 20+ years saying to himself "Yes, it would be a bad idea to learn to use weapons (not made of wood) that don't require magic in case I run into a templar".

Plus, he has the Trogdor arm, he can do damage. Put the giant arms and upper body muscles to use or give me a skinnier mage man. Aveline probably put him (and the rest of them) through the training courses with Dog anyway.

Always thought him a bit of a sexist, so it'd make sense. Only with Warrior LadyHawke he's the delicate mage flower and not her...

To be fair, Anders lays down the law for male Hawke around Act 3. He just has a different, and perhaps, less direct way of repelling male Hawke's advances. He doesn't outright say that their relationship is going to be a disaster like he does with female Hawke. Only that he doesn't want to hurt Garrett and does the things he does to protect him.

I love ArtRage. For its price it has the best, yes I'm telling you, the best simulation or real brushes and paper and workspace. Which at the same time is its downside, because you have really to paint to make it work at his best. I adore it for sketches, but then for the coloring I usually switch to Photoshop.
I had PS Elements in bundle with my tablet aswell, I had to upgrade it. There were so many useful things I couldn't do. It is fine for image and photo manipulation and fixes, but for drawing and painting the full version is better.
I am trying Painter 11 from a friend in these days, I'm still not sure how I feel about it, it has some real good natural brushes though...but I can hardly use it on my pc because just using the eraser it slows down to a crawl, and well, it is not easy to draw in those conditions. PS5 runs better...

That said, since I read you are "going digital" now...be prepared for some stress >.< I am still trying to "go digital", it takes much more work than I thought...at least for me. I still have the feeling that whatever I do, I could have done it faster and better with traditional means. And i know it is true for now...I am still learning :x

I have a before Zevran scene for Fenris because his reaction is adorable. I thought Anders felt a bit lackluster to be honest...

I never save before banter triggers though. It never plays the same banter. :(

Though I know what you mean about replaying the scenes.

Oh how many times have I replayed that bit with Anders reading his manifesto.
