I never got the "bag of bones" comment the first time, and I definitely had Anders. I think my team the first time was... Anders, Varric, and Aveline? Granted, the first time I didn't do Gascard's whole blood magic thing. Maybe that changes who says what.

Nahh he says it no matter what.
You have to do Emeric's quest in Act 1, but it sounds like you did.

I so love the drowning in blood line. Seriously, the man is very, VERY creepy, but I like to think it's because Justice has completely buggered up the social interaction part of his brain (what there was of it, any way).

After it doesn't go so well, I can hear Justice consoling Anders with, "I thought it was rather sweet of you."

Justice: I don't know why that line went over so poorly.  It worked on all the Fade spirits I sexed up.
Anders: Were they spirits of Naivete?
Justice: Ohhhhh yeah.  My bad, I guess.

Yeah, I did Emeric's quest but I was so freaked out by All That Remains the first time, that I entirely blanked on Gascard's continued existence. Instead I went to Lowtown with Gamlen and followed that blood trail. I dunno, that first playthrough was bugged to hell. Still, I don't remember Anders making the comment that time. Like I said, I was super stressed on that mission. Considering every time Hawke commented on a new puddle of blood I was like, "Waaah, no! Mommy!" I think something as crass as Anders' comment would have caught my attention.

EDIT to say again that it was over a month ago, so my memory might just be fuzzy or it might have been bugged. Just don't remember him saying it though.

It's totes in my headcanon that he steals at least one pair. I BELIEVE IN TRUE CREEP

If he doesn't I'm gonna delete my Andersmancer and shack up with Ser Thrask.

But... I need Ser Thrask for my Thrask/Hawke/Samson sandwich! (*)  Can we can share?  Don't judge me, people. ;)  He's no Fabio, but I see the beauty in Samson's junkie soul.  He defied the templar order before it was cool.  I don't fault him for his post Grace battle speech either.  Grace made me want to wring the mages' necks, and I was playing pro-mage.  And he's less messed up than crazypants Anders.  You'd think the mage underground could have smuggled him some lyrium.  Then maybe he wouldn't be so addled / desperate / jonesing that he sold kids to slavers.

(*) With a helping of Cullen on the side.  He needs to be reminded just how much he likes the Amell mage ladies.  This is quickly turning into cheesy 70's porn in my head.  Then Anders walks in asking if someone ordered a pizza.  It all ends with a huge pile of naked templars and mages making love, not war, and no explosions.

Also it's in the dialogue you have to trigger in the clinic and not immediately after returning from the Chantry right? You could just... not click on it right away and give him time.... I guess... roleplay that it's not creepy? Haha.

But why would anyone want to do that?

If only Anders were really stealing Hawke's underpants

Psh, stop acting like it's all in our imaginations.

STOP ACTING LIKE YOU CARE MORE ABOUT ANDERS THEN ABOUT YOUR CREW.

YOUR CREW NEEDS YOU.

It includes Anders so it's relevant. And it's cute, which is always relevant in this thread...

Well, it was mostly for my canon replay where I tried to get things just so. I also attempt to do it as a way to space out all the Andersy goodness. The first time I played I did everything Anders related immediately. Then I had to go through the rest of the Act without much Anders and it made me sad.

Wish I had your patience and self discipline.  Then the game wouldn't feel like this: slog slog slog slog ANDERS!  slog slog slog slog slog slog ANDERS! <3 slog slog slog slog slog slog slog slog ANDERS?!?! :crying: slog slog slog slog

It's creepier when male Hawke says, 'it's just that I've never considered...' and then he suggestively responds with, "I'll give you time to consider. In as much detail as you fancy" after killing his ex boyfriend. So much for tact, Anders.

The amazingness of that line overrides the timing in my opinion.

Also it's in the dialogue you have to trigger in the clinic and not immediately after returning from the Chantry right? You could just... not click on it right away and give him time.... I guess... roleplay that it's not creepy? Haha.

Yeah, you trigger it in the clinic. It's just weird how he's suddenly suggesting naughty things with you and then immediately say how inappropriate it is, at least not after Karl. Then again, to trigger the whole thing, Hawke has to use the inappropriate flirt line anyway. Creepiness on both parties, I guess. I can imagine some war orphan being cared for by Garrett and Anders, confused as hell how her/his "parents" got together.

Dunizel wrote...

Anders...with tact?
No way, that wouldn't be him at all.

Moreover,
I know he just killed Karl but...the way he talked about their
relationship, it sounded like some old story. Sure they were still
friends, but I don't think he felt something more for him now.
So yeah, Anders is totally free to flirt...even because I think at that time he is just half joking with you.
Then he starts being vreepy, but yeah, that's Anders.

He does mention how inappropriate it is after Karl so he's clearly still mourning over him. Either he's happy that someone's interested in tapping an abomination or he's trying to make light of what happened. You know, countering your tactlessness with even more tactlessness. Besides, I was under the impression that he still had feelings for Karl. Not necessarily love, but care and adoration. He slaughtered templars and took revenge on Ser Alrik with Karl in mind.

I have horrible self-control and always, always, ALWAYS run over to Anders' clinic and the beginning of each Act instead of spreading him out over time to prolong his Anders-ness.

Can't. resist.. scruffiness..

I'm not going to judge you, I still have a thing for Greagoir :P  Damn man fascinates me, I even resaved after siding with the Templars in Broken Circle just so I wouldn't get his 'refused help and died' thing

(and we don't talk about Cullen or my screaming 'Don't you dare kill him you ****!' to Meredith on my first playthrough, I've accepted I just seem to like lyrium addicted men in heavy armor)

To be honest, noticing that you might be inappropriate in that situation is the least you could do :°D
I think that even if Karls just only a friend you lived with in the Circle for years, you would have reacted like that.
I'm sure too he cared for Karl and had feelings...just, not that kind of feelings, that's all.

And yes, Anders always used snarks and humor, or tactlessness even, to fight unpleasant things. Even in Awakening, he had his bundle of issues.

Heretic!  Buuuurn him!

* hugs Anders *
I'll never leave you for that watery tart!  I don't care how thoughful, insightful, and rational she is beneath that flippant exterior!  Crazypants for evaaaaaaar!  Who wants a girlfriend who moons all of Kirkwall every time she leaps anyway?  Harumph.

Technically, Anders is the heretic - because he believes in Andraste and the Maker but disagrees with current Chantry dogma regarding mages. See!

It would just be too awkward to sleep with Isabela and then Anders with my import from DAO. I can just picture it now: Anders, Isabela, Hawke, and the Warden sitting at a table, everyone but Isabela giving each other awkward looks as they've all rode the Isabela Ride >.>
