Yeah I don't know HOW the hell I got that screen shot. But it is the millisecond right after the goes out of Justice Mode. But it is my favorite screen shot. You can kind of see his eyes still have a bit of blue in them.

He kind of looks blind, which is actually pretty awesome. I wonder whether Anders actually sees anything when he goes all Captain Smash, or if he just...feels...what's going on.

This is what he tell Merrill in one of their conversations:
  • Anders: It's not a good feeling you know.
  • Merrill: What?
  • Anders: Being an abomination. I just got a taste of your future.
  • Merrill: I'm not that foolish. Our relationship is, um, strictly platonic.
  • Anders: It's like you're trapped in your own body, seeing out your eyes, while someone else moves you like a puppet.
  • Anders: And you're trying to scream, to move a single muscle, but there's no escape. Until you look down at the blood on your hands...
  • Merrill: Stop it. You're scaring me.
  • Anders: That's the point.
So, he is at least kind of is aware? My guess is most of the time the outside world is muted noise or he is so terrified he can barely focus on anything else but regaining control.

That banter makes me want to hug him D:

The fact that I first heard it after I let him kill Ella made it worse.

Only Garrus' romance was amazing. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie] Nah, it's okay. It wasn't as good as the Andersmance... probably... maybe. *runs off to have adorkable banter with Garrus*

Truth! I cry every time I get to his little romance scene because...gah. It goes from hilariously awkward to sweetly earnest so quickly and it makes my heart feel full of good things.

It's just so cute. It's also the reason Shep should have ben able to hug Garrus. Oh, and it is also the reason I downloaded the Flux music. I joke with my husband that he should play it any time he's trying to be romantic.

Ah, I'd forgotten about that conversation. Probably 'cause I usually leave Merrill in her squalid little hut for most of the game. I knew that he was aware of what was going on during the take-overs, I guess I just wasn't sure how...first hand, it was. But that conversation seems to indicate that he's very much a front row spectator.

I have a hard time actually grasping his situation to try and understand it. It's just so ****ed up.

You know what's disturbing? The fact that, that banter makes me find
Anders even more attractive. What is wrong with me? I must have
some secrect abomination/possession fetish I wasn't aware of.

Um, can we talk about his cheek flush? I think I just noticed it and I am falling in love all over again.

The only thing that bothers me about his character model are his lips. Not his actual lips, because eeee, but the fact that they clip or something when he talks. It distracts me sometimes.

I adore his rosy cheeks.

I always want to add them in when I'm drawing him but it never looks right. I looks like he's blushing instead of having adorable, pinchable cheeks.

I've never seen his lips clip when he talks though. Hrm. I guess it's another excuse to oggle him while I play. Perhaps I get too lost in his eyes.

Oh, also, I was surprise how similar Awakening Anders and DA2 Anders looked with their pictures side by side. That said, I definitely prefer the new engine. He has more life in his face. Or it looks less plasticky or something. Plus he no longer has the same generic body model as everyone else. That's the main reason I assume he's slimmer in DA2- he always was slim, the engine just didn't allow it. Although I do agree with people that he's probably lost a bit more weight due to circumstances.

Maker, I guess.

Mind you, thinking about it, it makes a lot of sense. I grew up watching Buffy and Angel, and I always had a thing for how they portrayed vampires.

It's... kind of similar. Sort of it. And just as hot.

Hawke, you crazy sonuva****. Falling in love with an abomination is NOT a smart idea.

Or just a general penchant for danger.

Really, any relationship with Anders is a knife's edge. And maybe that's why the desperation and kind of creepy-unnatural speed of it didn't bother me that much, because it just kind of fits. It's like he wants to love someone as much as he possibly can, while he still can, because he doesn't know how long he has; be it literal death or the spiritual death of whatever "Anders" is left...like he doesn't how long he'll even still be him.

****. Here.

That might be the greatest image I've ever seen.

Also, you're probably right.

And truth be told, I still have a thing for Spike. Those cheekbones. *Drools*

Yay! Garrus support. :D

But yes, that conversation with Merrill made me really wish could jump back, hug Anders, and tell him everything would be alright... even if it totally wouldn't be. :pinched:

I also like that conversation though because it shows that, even if he's an ass about it sometimes most of the time, he is trying to help Merrill. It's part of the reason that, even though he's a complete jerk at the end of it, I like to take Anders along on Merrill's final mission. He tries so hard to warn her one last time.

EDIT: I want to jump on the Spike bandwagon. Or maybe I just want to jump on Spike. I still have a thing for that man.

Gawd it's been years since I thought about Buffy. Yes, Spike was decidedly yummy. I think, to my shame that I was generally a bit more of an Angel girl at the time, however.

I've been steering clear of the Kinkmeme since the -gyno exam- incident, but I just finished reading the last part of The Box.

The idea of Anders writing unsent letters to Hawke is the cutest thing evarrr.

Hmm, I have now set about imagining Anders singing.

afaik there's only the 34. She mentioned at one point that life was a bit crappy right now but she was trying to update asap. Hopefully we'll see more in a couple of days.

I don't know how you rabid fanfic'ers do it, btw. I've never really been moved to write fic before, but DA2 certainly stirred it up in me, and it's been absolutely painful. I haven't written anything for a long time, and I've always been hyper critical of my own work (one leads into the other), but good grief... This past week since I started plugging away at this...thing... has been excrutiating.

So... hats off to you noble souls who toil endlessly for our amusement, but also you're jerks for making it look easy.

/salute
