Yeah, I never considered my Amell friends with Jowan, but it seems the game decided that for us.

I figured he was just someone who thought Amell was his friend, and Amell imagined he was an irritating hanger-on that he/she couldn't get rid of because they're both stuck in the Circle.

Aw, my warden kinda saw him as a "fails at life" type and so did what she could to try to help him. He is a complete wazzock but he had that whole kicked puppy thing going on - just made me personally go "D'awww"

In a grand total of about 5 conversations within the same hour and a half I have him nearly maxed out in rivalry.
But to say, I like Seb a lot. I can understand him not knowing what to do. It's not like he's deciding whether to buy orange juice with or without the pulp.
I probably would of used him more if he was a warrior.

Tell me about it. I tried the thing where someone said they got a -20 just for trying to take him to the Fade. So I brought him with me to the Keeper, he said no way, I got to choose my party and didn't pick him because I thought he'd be revolted just by my presuming. I get to the Fade and it's all "Sebastian Friendship +10. And I just shook my head in amazement.

ETA: I'm guessing my mistake was that I needed to pick him AGAIN to actually go inside after he got all offended. But it made me laugh, because he sneaks that crap in all the time where you least expect it.

I, personally, strongly dislike Sebastian, and did long before he butted heads with Anders over anything. I won't hem and haw and pretend that I don't think he's that bad: I really do not like the character.
I disagree with him on several fundamental viewpoints, I dislike his personality and some of his actions, and I find that neither his friendship path or his rivalry path makes him more agreeable to me. I feel this way and so, therefore, do the majority of the Hawkes I play.

That said, I still recruit him on every playthrough. The money and experience from his quests are not to be sneezed at, and as much as I dislike the character, I hardly find him any kind of threat to me or Hawke. I'm not upset that they included a character I dislike, and the game would be poorer without what little he adds to it. Although I'll never agree with the stance he represents, I don't think it's a bad thing to have a character along that is so much the opposite of what I believe. That conflict just makes the whole thing chewier.

Every character does annoy me. Some more, some less, some of them more often.
Aveline for example could stop being so prissy about me wanting money, Anders could stop being so naive about mages, and look at himself when he rants about their suppoused inocennce, Fenris brooding drives me crazy, and not in the positive way (mostly I don't mind, but there are moments, when my immunity falters)

Yeah, I would gladly punch some sense into one or two... even If generelly like/love them
So it's not like I would punch only Sebastian. No. I hate this guy passionatly, but he's not the only one.
And my hate has nothing to do with Anders - actually I like it, when he get's all "kill this murder, right now" - he's showing some spine finally. Pity he didn't try do do it himself, maybe then I would start to think he did grown a bit, and after that (if I would let Anders die) maybe even start to respect him.

Cheers guys, I kinda got the impression he was hard to rival, my Hawke went with the sarky family/bow comparison when chatting to him in the chantry just cause she's kinda tactless like that (Yes she also went with the "It's pretty late in the day" with the Viscount ), you'd think he'd respond not too favourably to jokes about firing family at enemies but nope, didn't seem to faze him.

I don't hate every character, but each one is annoying in their own way.
I hate the way Aveline ****es at me about everryythhinnnggg.
I hate how selfish Isabela acted.
I hate how SUPER-PRO-MAGE Anders is most of the time. And how he refuses to be budged from his position, even as blood mages throw corpses at us from every direction.
I hate how broody and suspicious Fenris is, to the point where he condones extortion, as long as a mage, or a parent of a mage, is suffering.
I hate how naive Merrill is about everything. That mirror HARMED people. I think it's okay to lose that bit of culture.

Varric's the only one I don't have a damn problem with.

I am in agreement with the above statements 100%

Varric wins in every single bloody category..
I wish I could play a dwarven Hawke and romance him. (Though the height difference makes for some hilarious scenes... )

I didn't think Seb would kill Anders outright. I knew a choice like that would be left to Hawke. However, I did think you'd get the option to let Seb kill Anders. Or even something like, let him kill Anders or you have to fight Seb right there and then.

As much as I was super excited to play a f!Hawke that romanced Isabela or Merrill...

I can't lie. I don't like f!Hawke's VA that much. She has a yawning quality to her voice (that is, when I try to imitate the tones, it makes me yawn, not that she makes me go "oh, bore! yaaaaaaaaawn") that I can't really get behind.

Snarky m!Hawke just sounds so good.

I was all over Sebastian's accent at first and was all like *squee* MARTHDAR (yes I don't need much)

But it was like dragging a male Elthina everywhere - the maker this the maker that, don't worry it's all in the maker's hands, if the maker didn't approve of Andraste's head between my thighs he'd smite me bla bla bla. I didn't DISLIKE him per se, I thought he was a nice enough guy, didn't harm anyone. Until act 3 that is when he went all kill the maleficarium arr!

I actually felt BAD for him when the chantry went boom and Elthina died, I actually felt almost guilty for not punishing the guy who did it. And then he went all bitter and agressive and threatened the man i love - totally crossed the line. Now it's on.

Can I get my upside-down Anders nose medal now?
