If I'm giving Anders to any companion for the purposes of execution, its Aveline. She is captain of the guard, after all, and Anders did just commit a capital crime in her city.

So no, Seb wouldn't get to go stabbity either.  He's just a dude at that point.

Yeah, I wish Seb had actually tried.  Even just drawing a knife and advancing a few steps but ultimately stopping when Hawke tells him to back off would have made me take him a bit more seriously.

I'm sort of surprised there wasn't an option to kill Seb.  None of my Hawke would have taken it, but it seems like a particularly aggressive Hawke wouldn't have just let a loose end like that wander off threatening to bring an army back with him.  Hawke had certainly killed people for less.

THEN I actually talk to him.
After that, it was more like, "Oh what's that Seb? Maker Maker Elthina Andraste? Would you like that with a side of SHUT THE **** UP!"

Agreed on the Aveline part.
Aveline intends to execute him if you let him live. (Or at least, that's what it sounded like)

Which makes it even more awkward for Hawke, since for my fem!Hawke, Aveline is her best friend, and for M!Hawke, she's like his second mother/aunt/e.t.c.

Of course, Anders is currently higher on the priority list, so the fact that Hawke may have to kill his/her oldest friend for him just adds to the guilt trip.

I do so love my angst.

Probably because they want Seb to be plot-relevant in future installments without having people scream and cry about retcons.

I live in Scotland so I wasn't too excited about the accent - don't get me wrong, I do love the Scottish accent, but I just need to go outside to hear it

I don't really think it's wanting to hand Anders over to anyone for execution as much as Sebastian finally acting of his own volition.

Maybe to fullfil the fangirls who wanted a "Prince Charming" option?

Or at lease, that's my theory for his romance. It's not my cup of tea though.

I dunno. I kinda wish he was open to men, too, if only to be fair. It doesn't seem right that straight women characters have the dubious joy of having him as an option just to themselves. A sketch romance should be available to everyone.

Gotta love em gaelic accents.
Personally, since I live in Wales, Merril kind of struck home for me. (She sounds like my next door neighbour! XD)
Also, my best-friend's boyfriend is scottish so it felt a little awkward...

Though personally, I'm a sucker for the posh English, cockney London and Irish accents.

To jump in the discussion: I just think Sebastian is not a very well-written character. He's flat and one-dimensional, and just plain boring. This is why it was such a shock for me to learn Jennifer Hepler wrote him, too.

My boyfriend hated Leliana's guts in Origins and kept calling her a religious idiot and I was like dawww she's like my bff we'll go shoppong for shoes together once this is over, why don't you romance her? Well NOW I get it - not cool Seb.
