For Leliana, I had to romance her with a female Warden...

I like the way you think. The problem though is I'd feel like I was using Zev. Y'know, how human nobles use city elves as servants 'n all that.

I can only speak for myself here, but part of fantasizing involves imagining yourself in the situation you're seeing. Something like "I wish I was that guy/girl doing this and that to that other guy/girl". Which obviously can't work if the people involved in what you're watching wouldn't be interested in you because of your gender. For some people it doesn't matter. But I find it puts a damper on things for me. Probably because I have a tendency to think too much.

Eh. People's brains all have their own unique and delightfully kinky wiring. What some find sexy others will find unsexy, and there's no sense in anyone being ashamed (or having others try and make them be ashamed) of having their own preferences (within the realms of legality blah blah blah).

I sort of agree with this actually. 

Firstly, about straight guys who like lesbians, they don't like LESBIANS they like women making out with each other and nothing beyond that - they don't want to hear about their relationships or problems or babies or anything. It's actually quite rediculous, when Queer as Folk came out (the american one) only UK and Spain agreed to air it at all at like 1am. But then the L word comes out and they air it everywhere like twice in the middle of the day. I had my 8 year old sister watching it while eating lunch. 

And I am actually quite fascinated by the whole yaoi phenomenon myself, from a strictly sociological point of view that is *cough* 

I actually think it's obsession with men breaking the stereotypical male behavioral patterns and expressing love and tender physical contact with each other. With me it started as an obsession with bromance - any two good looking guys that showed ANY kind of care for each other and would touch each others cheeks or w/e. Then it progressed to guys kissing (I blame a bunch of spanish directors for that) etc.e tc. Being a straight female definitely has something to do with it - I surely don't read any lesbian fanfics or web comics - and the less attractive the guys in the story/game/film the less likely I am to become involved. 

Soo it's part just being straight and enjoying good looking male bodies touching each other, part just enjoying men being emotional and passionately in love, and part enjoying it because i know it pisses pathetic homophobes off.

I think after that dialogue between Fenris and Izzy, Hawke should have had the option to tackle Fenris and make it so. He did say having lyrium breasts would make things better.

I'm about 90% sure my first boyfriend was secretly gay, though. We've fallen out of touch but I'm....pretty sure he was touching manparts in his brain.
