Yes. When she [Meredith] started talking crap about me being a mage [end of Act 2], and that she will "ignore it for now", the greatest plan formed in my head.
  • I would kill her right on the spot. No questions asked. Nobody cares really.
  • If I didn't know what that sword was, I would give it to Fenris.
  • Get to Orsino, kill him and steal his cool staff for myself.
  • Go into the keep. Kill the Arishok. Shed a tear because he was the greatest foe I ever faced.
  • Be named Champion and become the new Viscount.
  • Once I'm a Viscount, I'd give the "Hang Man" to Varric and maybe name it "Bianca's Hang Out".
  • I would give the Circle of Kirkwall its autonomy just like the Circle of Ferelden.
  • I would redesign the Gallows and get rid of the prison cells, bars, etc and add more dormitories and gardens.
  • In fact I'd make it more of an Academy. I would encourage mages to bring or establish their families in the redesigned Gallows where they can live and/or study magic but don't have to.
  • I would "encourage" the Chantry to purge their Templars and get rid of anyone giving me a "Ser Alrik" vibe. Templars will only serve as a police in charge of hunting mages that have harmed citizens by blood magic or any other medthods under the jurisdiction of the Circle of Kirkwall.
All this will be accomplished in a matter of 5 years. The first mage Viscount with her possessed mage husband.

Hmm......yeah. I think that would've gone great don't you think? and I only needed the option of killing the nutcase of Meredith in Act 2.

:wizard: :police:

You should resist, Fenris' romance is really nice too. :D

I did it on my last playthrough, until he well...left because it was too fast.

Plus romancing Anders after Fenris does his walk-out is even sweeter and amazing.  For one thing, it adds even more tense banter between Anders and Fenris.  And Anders's line "I'm sorry he hurt you, but I can't be sorry he led you to me" makes me wibbly.  :crying::wub:

Is there a video of this?  I'm soooooooooooo tempted, but I suck and cannot bring myself to hurt people :(

So after getting to the part of Anders's rivalmance where Justice comes out to fuss at Hawke, Hawke says "Oh, hello, Justice.  It's been so long" in the most sarcastic voice ever.  So this put a mental image in my head of Justice flying out every time Anders seems to be losing an argument.  At the risk of revealing how terrible a person I am, this reminds me of when girls cry to wiggle out of an argument (...not that I've ever done that :?).

Hawke: ANDERS!
Anders: Oh crap
Hawke: ::storms in::  I don't care how much you hate templars, you had no right to scribble "Meredith sucks" on that templar shield I picked up
Anders: You shouldn't be carrying it anyway!
Hawke: I will carry whatever I want!  You have no right--
::ANDERS GOES JUSTICE-Y::
Justice: That shield is a symbol of injustice!
Hawke: Oh no you don't!  Anders, you get back out here RIGHT NOW!
Justice: I am Anders
Hawke: And you will conveniently not remember this argument later on!  Justice, I will kick you so hard your great grand-spirit will feel it in the Fade if you don't tell Anders to stop hiding this instant.
Anders: ::hiding in his own head:: ::whispers to Justice::  Is she gone yet?

I snorted my coke!  Geesh, thanx.
LOL too funny, just too funny!!!

LOL He totally does this.

And is it wrong that I love the templar armor and my templar Hawke wears a set throughout most of Act 2? I imagine it makes Anders distinctly uncomfortable, but she tries to mitigate the damage by pointing out that she's not exactly buying this stuff, if he knows what she means.

However, she should probably exercise some caution and maybe not sneak up on the mage with the templar hating demon inside of him while wearing it. Probably.

Ohhhh.  See, I watched the video without sound in a rush before leaving for work, hehe.
Watched it again, gawds, it's so sweet, really it is.
But oh the banter between those two and the Fenris "I'm going to kill you if you hurt her" stuff... so adorable, but don't they have enough to fight about?  :P

For some reason I got this image of Anders as V from V For Vendetta stuck in my head:

Anders:  Aha! In appearance, an atypical absolver of ailments, appearing as angel and arch-demon to the attentive and apathetic. This apparition, no mere august artifice is an artifact of the abashed and arcane, now absent.  This ageis of apostates stands apprised and appalled at the audacious, apoplectic, authoritarian, actors, attacking the anxious and apprehensive!

(Draws staff and blows a hole in the clinic wall)

The only answer is action, an aspiration articulated ardently, as such will act, as antidote and antithesis for the angered and archaic. (laughs) Alas, this amiable appliance of alliteration apparently anticipates appellation. So let me just say it is good to meet you and you may call me Anders.

Hawke: Are you some kind of crazy person?

Anders: I am quite sure they will say so.

Kaya Hawke doesn't really argue with Anders, but if he ever managed to make her angry, this would work. She loves glowy Justice!Anders.

Kaya: Anders! D:< That templar was mine, you kill-stealer!
Anders: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! o___o *changes into Justice*
Justice: *glows* I had to do it, Kaya. FOR JUSTICE!
Kaya: ...Well, all right. As long as it was for justice.

I like the sleeves and belts on the new templar armor. They look really cool. My FemHawke for the rival romance will probably get to wear them. She's a templar who wants to change the system.

So, I know I don't post here, but Anders is still one of my favourite characters in DA2, and I thought I'd share some fanfic that I found and love. And it's Anders-related!

"Happier"

"Manifested"

Both by Pectus Noctem (and you are the author and you see this...you rock)!

Seriously, I had no idea that things could go so badly for him and still be completely believable. Also, on a lighter note, someone has to make a .gif or video of the Chantry blowing up, followed by his introduction in Awakening- with him cooling his hands and professing his innocence.

Done. Major props to you for this awesome idea.

Oh man, I'll never catch up on everything that's been written since I left on the 3rd. Suffice it to say I'm on my third playthrough now and I still feel like everything is awful forever from my first run. Oh, Anders. Oh, my heart.

Ms Hepler, I am conflicted by the desires to both spam you with Y U DO THIS macros and giving you a round of applause. My heart has never been so thoroughly rent in twain.

I simply cannot sift through all the pages of this thread to find playlist suggestions, so please feel free to PM them to me. In the meantime, I repost this song in dedication to all of us who followed the romance right to its bitter, bitter end.

::snerk::  Famous last words: "Oh man, this is going to be hilarious... Anders is gonna freak out!"

To quote the man himself: "Did he ever ask you to play “the naughty mage and the hapless recruit?”
Maybe the “secret desire demon and the upstanding knight?”
