Gah, sorry for making people sad. I'm just with Threeparts on this; I think it's interesting, and highly worth discussing, as it's not usually a video game topic.

wow you guys are really catching up to the fenris page. how about showing the same love to the Adam Howden (Ander's VA) facebook page and Twitter fan page? Or his real twitter page? He's actually nice enough to talk back to his fans that talk to him which is really nice, so let's show him our support. :)

He didn't respond to my tweet about eating Twixes at midnight being his fault. *is bummed* :( That said, yus, I agree with the support.

Also, here guys:

Hmm, this could be true. Not disagreeing with you necessarily, but I can only go with my own personal experience. Once I hit rock bottom once, I never went back there again. And since then I've still been able to enjoy life to some degree, even when in the depths of depression. Although it doesn't really bring you out of your depression per se, being around people who aren't constantly judging you, feeling at least a tiny bit accepted, and also being active can really help in lifing mood.
There is also a shame aspect to depression in that you don't really want people to know how bad you are feeling. You could also interpret Anders' coming back to help the warden as a self-destructive '**** it, the Templars are going to kill me anyway.' moment.

I do definately agree with the bolded though. Particularly the loneliness aspect. At least with Justice he will never be alone again - something I would imagine being in solitary for a year compounded.
Also, as a side note, I can see why he thinks the Ferelden circle is only marginally better than Kirkwall's. A year in solitary is, to my mind, unimaginably cruel.

Agree 100%. For at least two years I suffered alone because I didn't want people to worry about me, and just deflected things with humor. I hit rock bottom, and that is when I threw away those damn anti-depressants, and never felt better.

Ugh. Just stupid people and stupid life, interfering.
And my dog got diagnosed with hip dysplasia.
And I found out my cat is retarded due to an advanced neurological disorder.
Yep. Not a fun day.

So I come here for smiles. :)

Did you miss it? It was some straight troll pretending to be gay who created a petition saying he was offended by how gay people were portrayed in this game, and that he wanted Gaider fired for it. It created a bit of buzz and was posted on some other sites.

That thread was about how gay gamers actually liked what had been done in the game, and that the petition was a ton of bull****. The comments section was filled with people agreeing, and Gaider commented on it thanking people for their support.

I think I did miss it. Or don't remember it well. You wouldn't still have a link would you? I could use the lulz.

This is the said thread http://gaygamer.net/...hink_alike.html It links to the original troll's post and the petition (which funnily enough, even after being posted on a ton of places still only got 350 votes, most probably originating from 4chan or something of the sort)

All in all Gaider's attitude towards this + the whole "BW is neglecting the straight male gamer!!!1" made him my favorite person in gaming ever.

I know this was discussed a bit many many pages back.. but I just read an interesting article over at Greywardens.com (the fan blog) that really gets into the whole Enigma of Kirkwall.

<snip>

I knew from reading the codex that the veil is extremely thin there but I didn't realize that the city itself (as in the way the streets are mapped out) may have been planned as one big focus for magical energy - possibly even a set up for a massive spell.

It's an interesting read.

Oh and on a different topic, I was playing around in the bone pits and clicked on Anders. I finally got the line, "No wonder they call this the Dragon Age, the bloody things are everywhere."
It was perfect timing since we just killed the mature dragon (in act I)

Yes, I adore the mysteries behind the Enigma codices, and I'm sincerely hoping that they're not just some throwaway lore BW threw in for achievement hunters. There's something very big going on there and it would be a crying shame if they let something so fascinating and huge just slip by without any further references.

We've determined that Kirkwall is the Hellmouth of the Free Marches, but I want to know how and why more than any other mystery that DA2 threw up. What happens to Hawke and the Warden once they go missing? Yeah, I guess. are the Qunari invading? That'd be good to know. What the **** were the magisters doing in Kirkwall? TELL ME NOW PLZ.

I love collecting lore. Thedas lore is the most fascinating RPG lore I've ever seen. More so than Forgotten Realms (Because after 4th edition, that just went to hell)
Why do the Tevinter Magisters seem to be behind everything!?

..Hellmouth... Now I'm viewing the DA cast as Buffy characters. XD
(Well, Alistair and Zev were partly based off of Xander and Spike respectively...)

Hadn't read that before. Interesting. Kirkwall's number of blood mages did seem off, but this explains.

Edit: The site has a trojan, btw. My virus scanner flared up when I opened the link.

ewww I'm really sorry about that. The trojan must be a new problem - I hope they take care of it because I've been enjoying the articles there for a while now.

No, I agree completely. I think it's an interesting conversation to have, even if it depresses me (perhaps especially because it depresses me). It's a hard thing, and so I think it merits lots of thoughtful discussion.

That sucks. My uncle's bulldog also has that, the poor thing.

She still has lived a happy life though, I think she's over 10/11 years old by now and still going.

Well according to the laws of nature, my boy only has about two years left.
Not because of the hip dysplasia...his breed only lives 7-9 years.
I'm just hoping his meds and surgery (both prices made my head promptly explode) will help him out.

I endorse this plan of action. Or end each post with a sentence about zombie Wynne's massive necroboner from seeing an m!preg FabAnders riding an Alicorn off into the sunset with Meredanders. In fact, if people want to just copy-paste that line, I will stay undepressed.

@Amondra
This thread can handle just about anything from what I've observed.
Sad depressing stuff.
Perversions to the n'th degree.
Smirks.
Sexiness.
And lots and lots of debates.

More sexiness can never hurt. Never.
*ahem* Except when I'm at work and I end up blushing. But so worth it!

What breed is it? I thought bulldogs had the smallest life span of all dogs, and according to wikipedia it's still 7-12 years.

I also have 2 dogs, a miniature schnauzer and a whippet who are also really old now. It's very bittersweet, I'm happy they've lived long and happy lives, but chances are they're not gonna last a whole lot longer. At least they're both still healthy despite the age (they're 14 and 15).

I approve of this idea. We shall festoon them with ruffles and rainbows and kittens, and it will be glorious!
And now I really want to make my Anders gingerbread 'paper'chain . . .
