For me it's canon. Warden did the DR, hunted her down in Witchhunt where she tells you she's leaving with the child where they'll be safe until they're ready to return. And he lets her go.

FWIW, Gaider has said that the DR (as well as every other ending to DA:O) is not considered canon. It's only 'canon' for the player if they agreed to do it and import their saves. It's not BW's canon.

Now, as to whether or not they change their mind about that later, who knows. But for now...

One of the reasons I was listening to it repeatedly (aside from loving it) was the fact I knew I'd ascribed it to another video game character in the past, and I couldn't remember who it was.  Finally got it after four playthroughs though .   Stupid depressive brain is one of the reasons I stayed out of the discussion on mental illness, it hit a bit too close to home at times.  I know firsthand what it's like to not have your brain work the way it used to, and it's....annoying at best.  But meh, there's not a lot to do about it except be open about stuff and laugh. (and deflecting stuff with humour, yes, that is quite a normal thing to do, lol)

I have almost decided to screw trying to keep stuff "canon" in DA. There are so many possiblities etc that it just isn't worht it to me anymore. I just live in my own little slightly (or not so slightly) AU world I think.

DLC fodder obviously. I really hate these tactics, they really cheapen the story. Did we really need both the DA:O and DA2 protagonists to ~disappear~ at the end? With that and each companion going their separate way, it's not like they could have left things more open ended if they tried.

I kind of get the feeling that it's more than Dlc. I think it's more to do with the whole DA story arc...Sandal and his prophecy, Flemeth, Morrigan and possible god baby thing.
Flemeth appeared at the beginning of both the warden's and Hawke's story and saved them both then pointed them in a direction. Maybe she's building a champion army   . But I get the feeling that there is a bigger story here that will be the DA series climax rather than just cheap dlc plot fodder.

sorry if this has been said, still catching up on 50 + pages .... yes 50+ since last night bloody hell......
