I hate endgame. Stupid bloodmage/Pride demon and my rogue ending up soloing them alone. With a bunch of shades. If not for Duelist spec I'd have died.

The only shout I've gotten with Hawke was him yelling Fenris. It's always Fenris, no matter who dies alongside him

Oh I love Hawke's little "ANDERS!" when Anders falls (which is pretty rare).
If my Hawke said that I never heard it, possibly because I was too busy going "ACK! ANDERS!" myself.
On the topic of saves - yeah, I'm a compulsive saver too. I have main saves before most of the companion quests, especially the Anders ones.

PS: Is anyone else a compulsive saver? I'm 3/4 of the way through Act II on this run, and my total saves are already over 2000, with 170 named saves.
Yes.
Apart from saves seeming to randomly decide to be "corrupted" or what have you on my xbox, I usually have to save a couple times.
My list of saves is a good indicator of how tired I was at any given point in the game. It goes from sensible save names like "Deep Roads 2", "Isabela recruitment", "Fenris Questioning" to things like, "mage underground woo!", "ilu varric", "wherethefismymum", "EVERYONE'S DYING :(" and "oh god anders why".

Aveline shout "Anders is down!"(Though I've heard she says "the whiny mage is down!" too before on the forums.
Hawke only ever shouts "They got Varric! You bastards!"
Anders almost never dies on me. He always ends up seeming to be much more sturdy than even Aveline is.
I.... I wish I could name saves on my xbox..
EDIT
Just wondering, is nobody else disappointed that Anders never uses his murder knife? Apart it taking me an embarassing amount of time to realize that he even had one. I mean, it's sitting right there. On his waist.

Given he's a healer working in pretty poor conditions, I bet he's had to use it off-screen more times than the Warden and Hawke put together.
I envy you guys who can hear battle shouts! Combat sounds are always way too loud for me to make out anything but the occasional comment at the end. I've got music and SFX set at volume level 5 and dialogue at 10, but combat and creature noises are still way too loud. Tell me your secrets!

...he had a murder knife? ... /embarrassed, yes.
I always figured the dramatic mage animations were more Anders' style, but I'm going to guess he uses it when he doesn't want to, you know, get caught by templars.

I have the sound effects turned down too. It's lame when I forget to turn it back up during the scene when he blows the chantry.

As am I, with both speakers and a headset. Maybe my parents were right, and listening to my Walkman really loud all those years ago really did ruin my hearing.

For anyone wondering whether he comes back to join you after leaving post-Dissent, the guide claims he is gone for good. Unless, I assume, you ask him to stay after his action in the end game.
Huh, that's interesting. I may try that on my complete bastard run.

I had problems with sound balance until I used the "force stereo sound" option (apparently it's designed for headphone use, which is what my setup basically is; I have external speakers plugged into the headphone jack). Without it, the music/SFX are way too loud and the dialogue quiet no matter what I do.

I have to thank you for the playlist linked in your sig. I forgot how much I love Matthew Good. And MAN does that song ever suit Anders. So good.

Not to spoil your fun again, but doesn't it bother you at all that Anders is very quick to judge others and not himself? Say, if you're in a relationship with Merrill, he'll say "she'll never choose you over the demon", and if you break up from him for Isabela he'll say "she'll break your heart". Well, isn't it nice I never have to worry about those things with you...
Actually, it does, but then all the possible LIs bother me in one way or another. Anders is far from perfect, but then so are all the other companions. I do think a lot of those comments are actually a result of trying to persuade himself that what he's doing is right. Which is just as bad, mind, but that was my take on that. With Merrill he's all 'don't use blood magic; don't consort with demons, it's bad, it's wrong, I didn't cross that line because MY spirit was a GOOD spirit but LOOK AT ME NOW and you're consorting with a demon.' and so on.

It doesn't bother me, the player, as it adds to his character. He is moody and temperamental, and sometimes hypocritical. He's deeply flawed, and I can get behind that.
Does it bother my Hawke? Damn right it does, I imagine she's perfected her "we are going to have words about this later" glare over the course of their relationship. She'll stand by him through thick and thin, but she won't hesitate to speak up if she thinks he's out of line.
