You could at least tell us if what she told you was hopeful and close to what we all assume or extremely dark and depressing D: Do you feel better about the Anders/Justice thing after some clarification? I'll be happy with knowing just that.

The above pretty much.

I'd love to know if rivalry is bad or good or neutral for Anders as well.

Didn't Hepler already say that one is not necessarily better than the other, just that they're different? Or am I remembering that wrong?

I'm not asking about it being better than the friendship path. But if it is any help for Anders as a person

I think the rivalry and friendship path is good or bad depending on how you look at it. Some see rivalry as good and other see the friendship as the better.

Me personally is the friendship, and not because I don't want to be kicking his kitten all the time. Just I got a bit personal with his character and related real life into it with me, and that the tough love wasn't the answer. But that is just my OPINION I will never say anyone else's is wrong.

Weird that Hepler would reveal something to ONE person but suddenly it's not cool if the rest of the fans know about it?

Blah.

Alright guys, theoretical question time!
For those who allowed Anders to live, how involved do you see him being in the mage uprising that followed in your Hawke's canon?

I know various people have him going into hiding or running away with Hawke and Izzy in their head canon, but for the others, do you see him as being involved in organising the rebellion, assisting escapees and fighting against the templars?
Or do you think (in your own stories) that his big moment was in Kirkwall and what follows is him laying low and staying out of trouble, and perhaps doing some real research into his condition?

ETA: And for those who are pro-mage but still killed Anders, how involved do you imagine your Hawke was in the uprising?

I have a hard time seeing him as being anything other than completely broken after leaving Kirkwall. He's on a mental high after I let him live, but once he comes down I imagine he falls down a very deep hole. My Hawke doesn't have a happy ending after they sail away into the (flamingo) sunset.

Mm, no, I understood what you meant. Perhaps I phrased it badly.
I seem to recall, as far as she addressed mental health issues previously, that she stated whether one or the other was better for Anders personally was a matter of personal preference.

I personally prefer the friendship path, but that is due to my own feelings about the 'dark' and 'light' aspects of a person. I know you prefer the rivalry path, I assume for your own personal reasons too. That was all I meant by it.

I mean it's not like I can't just summarize what she wrote, but I just wanted to post her whole comment instead, because some of the parts are worded in a really awesome way.

I just went into the back room of the De Launcet Mansion to get the Qunari swords, and now my whole party is being mauled by traps....and it won't end! -cries-

I see my Hawke and Anders doing a little bit of both.  First they would head back to Fereldan and get my Warden in on the fun (because she would be so pissed if they left her out.)  Anders would realize he couldn't help the mages anymore in his state and they would set out to help both him and Justice.  While helping mages when they can.  I also like to think everyone went their seprate ways to throw everyone off Hawkes and Anders trail, and they will meet up at a later date.  The Warden called on some of her old friends.  With that said there is going to be this epic fight of greatness, as two heroes and their team of eliteness fight it out with the Chantry.

Now I feel bad. I don't want to be a dick but it wouldn't be right to just post it without consent either.

I would just wait. I'm sure she'll be fine with you posting it, but I'd think better safe than sorry. I'm patient.

I think silver's just trying to be respectful in asking permission before posting is all. I'm fairly certain Hepler wouldn't have said anything at all if it wasn't supposed to be general knowledge. :)

That said, I'm dying to knoow! *whine*

The wiki warns of the traps when it talks about the Qunari swords mission. Just sayin'.

I'd love to hear what she has to say.

While I don't mind waiting for the whole thing, assuming that she gives you the go-ahead to post it, it might get burried in a hundred pages of posts. So I'd be happy to read a summary now and the detailed message when you can post it... assuming that I can find it. :)

GAH I hate reloading.
I haven't saved in, like, an hour. So hopefully I have an acceptable autosave.
What's funny is I saved every freaking ten minutes in Origins, but for some reason I just don't feel like I have to do that with this game.
-while my whole party is being mauled by floor spikes-

Eh, it's alright. In trying to keep up with this thread I'm sometimes too succinct and the meaning gets lost!
I wish I could read faster . . .

There was a set of traps in one of the warehouses that was even worse than that!  I didn't realize there was a switch to turn them off and I kept throwing my blood mage at the problem and swearing for 30 mins.  Got through it all, surprisingly!  And then I saw the switch and facepalmed.

*pats chicken*

I got caught by that on my first playthrough. I think there's a fairly good autosave before it. You need to manouvre your party to where the spikes aren't, get them to hold there and then have your rogue disarm the traps.
What irked me about it is that there's no way to avoid them without prior knowledge, and it's the only instance of that in the WHOLE game. *grumble*

I save more with DA2 than I ever did with Origins.

@Dea: Is that the one with the farking arrow trap? I was peed off about that one, mostly because I was playing a rogue and didn't detect it. :pinched: Also lol!
