Once the tents were made, Marian watched jealously as the others settled in for the night. The Alicorns were snuggling with each other to stay warm and it seemed her brother would have a large hairy companion to keep his tent toasty. All she would have to keep her warm were memories of Mermanders and FabAnders.
Marian decided that if she wasn't going to sleep, she might as well set about making a fire. She ventured into the eaves of the forest but could find no wood. Well... no wood small enough to make use of for a campfire. She was on the edge of despair when she saw a lantern bobbing in the distance. She ran forward hoping to find travelers that might be able to help her. What she found put all thoughts of the fire out of her head.
The lantern was being held aloft by a small black squirrel. The squirrel had a darling little green scarf tied around its neck and it was riding on the shoulder of a woman. Under most circumstances, Marian might have considered the woman to be scantily clad, but considering her current state of nudity, she supposed she wasn't one to judge. Just behind the squirrel and the woman, was a dwarf with a crossbow. The dwarf seemed to be singing a lullaby to either the crossbow, or some woman named Bianca.
Once she got over her initial surprise at the strange trio, Marian got up the courage to speak.
"Hullo!" she called, "You wouldn't happen to have any spare wood for my campfire would you?"
The trio stopped to consider Marian. The woman smiled at her.
"Sorry sweet thing, you won't find any spare wood here. This one only has eyes for Bianca," she replied, gesturing to the dwarf.
"Not so loud, you two," the dwarf said. "I've only just gotten Bianca to sleep."
Marian could barely contain her curiosity. "Who are all of you?" she asked.
"The name's Varric," the dwarf replied. "My lovely companion is Isabela and the squirrel's name is Daisy."
"Varric, my name is Merrill," she squirrel chimed.
"Right. Like I said, Daisy," the dwarf said.
"What are you all doing out here in the middle of the night?" Marian asked.
"We're merchants. Or thieves. Or story tellers. Take your pick," Isabela said. "Although we could ask the same question of you."
"I told you, I'm looking for wood," Marian replied.
Isabela gave a sweeping gesture. "You're in a forest of dead wood. It should be great for your fire."
Marian frowned. "Yeah, but it's all much to large and I don't have an axe to break it down. I don't need it, really, but I'm worried I'll be cold tonight."
Isabela smiled even wider. "Well, I'm sure we could stop for the night. Varric has Bianca, but I wouldn't mind helping you keep warm."
*Ominous thunderstorm outside. Also, I totally need to finish this, but it seems to be getting longer and longer. >_>*

When Garrett woke up the next morning, he found one of his legs felt strangely sore as though something had rubbed against it all night. He was a sound sleeper, though, and couldn't remember much other than dreams of wolves howling. Speaking of wolves, Fenris, at least, seemed to have slept quite well. The wolf had a large smile and a spring in his step that Garrett had never thought to see when he met the grumpy creature the day before.
Once he left his tent, Garrett was surprised to find his sister was not awake yet. She was usually an early riser. Stranger still, a squirrel seemed to be making them all breakfast while a dwarf polished his crossbow not far off.
"Er, hello," Garrett said.
The squirrel hopped into the air in surprise. It then flit about nervously before it regained its composure. It then scampered over and said in a chipper voice, "Hello. I'm Merrill and that's Varric and Bianca. Your sister invited us back last night."
"I see. Well, nice to meet you Merrill," Garret said.
He extended his hand down and the squirrel shook one of his fingers vigorously. The cheery meeting was broken by the sound of growling. Merrill scampered up onto Garrett's shoulder to hide from the large, angry wolf that had just emerged from the tent.
"You shouldn't trust that one," Fenris grumbled. "I know her from the forest. She's a princess as well. Or, she was until she left her squirrel clan."
"W-what's wrong with princesses?" the nervous squirrel asked.
"They aren't to be trusted. If you give princesses even a bit of freedom, they're off festooning you with ruffles in an instant," Fenris growled.
"I've never festooned anyone," Merrill replied. "Although that sounds lovely. I don't know why you would hate anyone for that."
"Bah," Fenris spat.
Garrett held up his hands to get peace between the two creatures. "Now, now Fenris. Merrill here made us breakfast."
No sooner had the words left Garrett's mouth than Fenris' stomach growled loudly. The wolf trotted off toward the food, grumbling under his breath about sparkles and ruffles.

Garrett set out some more cheese for the Alicorns and then sat to eat breakfast with Merrill, Varric, and Fenris. He was halfway through his meal when he realized he probably should have woken up his sister. A sudden burst of giggling from her tent made him immediately change his mind. He focused solely on eating in the hopes of drowning out the thoughts that two girls giggling brought. He would not think such things if his sister was involved. He wasn't about to lose his appetite now.
Not long after, Marian emerged from her tent with another woman. When Garrett caught sight of the woman out of the corner of his eye, he nearly choked on his food.
"Shame on you, brother," Marian scolded. "You didn't wake me for breakfast. Now the food is nearly all gone."
"You... seemed occupied," Garrett choked.
"You did have quite the meal already," the woman said with a wicked smile.
A blush spread across Marian's face and up onto her ears. "True. Oh... where are my manners. Brother, this is Isabela. I see you've met everyone else."
Garrett got to his feet to shake the woman's hand. He found it was difficult to do when he was struggling between staring at Isabela and fighting off the images of her with Marian that came to mind when he did look at her. Isabela merely laughed at his sputtering. She slapped his ass in greeting and then went to get what she could of breakfast.

Please tell me that Marian and Isabela are going to ride that Alicorn hard all day again. Because you know they need exercise. FabAnders will be angry if they don't take good care of him.YamiSnuffles wrote...

Hahaha. I shall do my best then. Because, really, what good is any story if it doesn't end in an orgy?
You need that last sentence as a sig somewhere, just saying, and I am loving the story so far <3<3<3
