Dang-it...I really need to stop dreaming things and then having them come true the next day! That prompt right THERE was a dream I had the other night. (I've been dreaming more about DA2 than any other of my fandoms whut.)

Lucky.  I've NEVER dreamed of DA or ME.  Or any of their respective fandoms' cute guys.  Whenever I dream of one of my fandoms, it's always weird; like the Harry Potter dream I had where we were a wizard band traveling with a circus filled with bright pink silk tents 

Lately I've been having these dreams where I just go over everything that's crossed my mind during the day EXCEPT Anders (who makes like 60% of what I think about lately), I even had a dream conversation with my boyfriend in which I passioantely explained why the kirkwall mages were screwed either way by the end of Act 3 and how there was no place for change and I asked him what he'd do and he said something like: "There needs to be an extreme and shocking act of war to shake everyone off their apathy" and I was like YES MWHAHAHA and then woke up and realised the conversation never happened and rl my boyfriend doesn't even dislike Anders (yet) he thinks he's meh. MEH??? Anders is ot MEH!!! =(

That's funny, I was talking to my mother about how mages are pretty much screwed for life and told her everything about DA2. She agrees with what Anders did...she said: "What else could he do? He is backed up against the wall, with only one friend in the entire world (Hawke), and an enraged spirit pushing him to do more than he is capable of by himself. He had to catch people's attention, and that's what he did. It's not the BEST way, but he got the job done, right?" I never loved my mother so much than at that moment...*wipes away tear of joy* lol

Sad thing is, I thought of the most magical ending for the story as I went to sleep last night... but now I can't remember it. All I know is there were rainbows, Meredanders, and an orgy.

But then, those were all kind of a given.

This will sound a bit depressing but, I don't think it makes a difference.

People argue that the rivalry path helps Anders fight Justice and realise merging with him was wrong lala - but the thing is, it doesnt change anything because they are one and the merge can never be UNdone. So the result (if Hawke spares his life) is that Anders keeps fighting him, keeps blacking out when justice takes over, keeps waking up discovering what he might have done and feels horrible about it. In a word: Realises he's got a mosnter living inside of him but he's stuck with it anyway. 

Friendship path: Hawke agrees with anders AND Justice so Anders happilly embraces the spirit within and does what they all think should be done - Justice pushes him to extremes that Anders accepts as necessary. If Hawke spares his life: Both him and Justice make a new plan - to keep fighting until the day they die which is just - they have just started this horrible war - it's only fair they do their part in it. The result is: Anders still has Justice inside of him but since they agree on everythng he doesnt black out. 

Perhaps the difference is actually in Hawke's decision (and that's hypothetical because we don't know) A fully rivalmanced Anders (with templar siding Hawke) will realise Hawke was right all along and follow him/her as much as he can with Vengeance raging inside of him.In the other case (of Hawke siding with mages) Anders still holds the cause above everything else including Hawke and will keep fighting regardless of Hawke's decision to follow him or not.

Funny how people who hate him, and kill him right on the spot, when the options shows, are actually doing him a favor. It's merciful. Well, i always thought that it would be letting him off  too easily, guess I'm not a "mercy" kind of girl.

My Hawkes let him leave, for selfish reasons I could say. They have lost everything, Anders is like the only family they have left. They aren't strong enough to kill him, not to mention that in some playthroughs they knew something had to happen, and they supported his cause (not his methods, maybe, but still). 
Yeah, he wants to be killed and he is even happy to be killed by you, but my Hawkes are selfish and they want to keep him alive with them.

Yes, of all the possible outcomes, probably let Anders live alone is possibly the worst thing for him.

I disagree that Anders and Justice are completely merged. Something is too fishy and too many pieces don't add up to me.
So for me friendship is the worst thing you can do to him. Of course it varies by interpretation and that's just mine. 

I believe in a rivalrymance Anders (whether Hawke sideswith mages or templars) is gona fight Vengeance every step of the way and try to redeem himself for when Vengeance blew up the Chantry. 

I'm a sucker for good redemption stories.

I actually had to work yesterday (no holiday for me), and missed most of the fun with the troll. It took me 1 1/2 hours to get home when it usually takes 35 minutes due to other people on holiday. Bad day, bad day! I got home and slept for 13 hours, but woke up to a glorious story filled with alicorns/necroboner forest/zombie Wynne, and a plethora of lovely art.
This thread delivers.

I agree with you about the merge, not even Anders is sure of what it's going on after all. Friend of rival, I will always try to warn him, try to make him aware of the influence that Vengeance has on him.
Because it is clear that Vengeance could use him if he wanted to. The only difference being that in the friendship path Anders doesn't question his impulses and simply acts, while on the rivalry Vengeance has to take control.
I'm still not sure what's best for him, though I'm sure that a simple supporting friendship, making him believe that everything is fine, it's no good. I prefer him to be aware of the risks and fight it. even if he has to endure some more pain, my Hakes would be glad to help him through it...

It's spring, lol, tornado season lasts  from April to June. I was north of the rotation but man the rain that got poured on us, I swear I saw squirrels rafting in the gutters. Even one of the local news stations got hit, and the weather guy was broadcasting while saying he would keep broadcasting from under his desk if he had too.

I'm pretty much on board with this and my Hawkes would also be willing to stay by his side and support him. 

What they really want at the end is for Anders to be independant, of Hawke, of Vengeance (of Justice). They want Anders to grab his dreams with his own two hands. Not relying on a spirit to do much of the work and give him courage. 

They also want him not to kill innocent people and try to force a slaughter to make his point. 

It's too bad they didn't met earlier.

Yes the thought gives squee to my fangirl heart. And I would hope that Anders would be in the next DLC or game (probably explaining how Hawke just...vanished.) along with all the other LIs.
