Forums are hardly the place for calm debates anyway.

I really haven't got that feeling or read any posts like that beyond, "he's whiny, ****y, and rude to everyone and he blew up the chantry, course I killed him:devil:". And Yes I was disappointed with him as myself, but my character a mage who was at the breaking point of the whole ordeal, stood by him, though she would have done it differently. I didn't think about others not being able to express themselves at his actions though, so it is something else to consider. Thanks for pointing that out, Nodice.
I've obviously been reading the wrong threadsOr the right ones. All and all I'm quite annoyed that there only seems to be Anders hate or Anders love in the eyes of some. It doesn't quite cover the actual variety of feeling there is towards him. Of course, like in this thread people have been arguing about that stupid deserter thing, so it might seem a bit polarized.
Maybe some were hoping for a happy ending. That's enough reason to hate I guess. Defence mechanism, anyone?
If people in fact hated him in Awakening, hating him now would be hating him by principle, since he's not too close to the original Anders anymore.
I have to stop myself from jumping to his defense sometimes, as well. He isn't the mage we knew in Awakening anymore. I'll be the first to admit to coming off as a bit polarized, lol. I do love his character, but his actions were reprehensible, and the fact that those cannot be changed in the game, unlike in Awakenings or in Origins where you could Charm the pants off anyone, are, IMO, another reason why there is such dislike for him.
I admit I was one of the saps hoping for a happy ending as well, but really they left it open at the end like that for setting the next game. If they resolve anything from this one it'll be in DA3 or DLC.
My new Mage is going to be so Heartbroken when she kills him ..

... Shall I post more screenshots?

Exactly. The Warden was almighty, Hawke isn't. Pants go off, but it's not so simple. This is what I love in DA2.TripLight wrote...

Yes, the ending, don't even get me started about the ending. The game was left open, but I think there should have been some sort of closure. It feels pretty cold to let people just wait.
My mage is going to side with the templars

What I like about his eyes is that it does not seem too manipulative. Not like lets say the cat in Shrek?I know it is in some way but they are part of of his tormented charm. Ah i fail at english today.

Manipulative puppy dog eyes = annoying
Genuine puppy dog eyes = renders me helpless against them

Oh I love Hawke's little "ANDERS!" when Anders falls (which is pretty rare). I could've sworn he said "Bastards!" once too.
I swear that one time I heard Anders yell "NO! Please don't be dead!" when Hawke fell. I haven't been able to get it again, but it was the sweetest thing ever.

I don't know how I look but I guess that I'm more the Puss in Boots type XD.
... Or not. o_O" Sometimes they tell me I look like that even though I think I look as I do... as usual. (...
I don't know why they think it's cute. I guess I would laugh myself to death if I ever saw myself looking like that.
... And I don't think that young children are cute. I am strange.
But... Anders is... anders. XD (.... gah. why does his name have to mean "different" in german? T_T that's why I also never pronounce his name like everyone else xD)
No one can look as sad as him. I want to hug him whenever he looks like that T_T
I always fail at writing posts. I'm sure everyone here thinks I have a screw loose.

Also, as a rogue who romanced him, I felt like there should've been a lot more abomination-y wrath from him when the Arishok impaled my character in single combat. Just sayin'.

I'm never serious when I do that.

Okay, I've set up an IRC for chat for us while were on the forums as well, hehe: It should work better than Chatango.
Server: irc.foonetic.net
channel; #faylefahl
You can use Trillian, Pidgin, mIRC or Mibbit to access
Mibbit: www.mibbit.com
Pick Foonetic from the servers then type #faylefahl in the channel area.
This is up in the first post, so if anyone asks just point them there!!

I would've loved some comment from the love interest right before the duel. DA2 did a pretty good job of including little touches like that, like when Anders says "Thank the Maker you're safe!" right after you and Aveline are attacked at the Qunari compound. When little miss 120-lb Hawke says "Sure let's do this" to the Arishok, it would have been adorable for Anders to pipe up and say "Are you out of your mind?!"

Wow i'm tempted to die just to see if i can make Ander cry my name (this sound so wrong XD)
LOL! It does sound so wrong. XD
I will admit that I do this a lot too, though. The death cries are so interesting now. I will admit that next time I play, I will crank it up to Nightmare and take control over Anders and make him just sit there instead of healing everyone. And I should probably play on my squishy rogue Hawke instead of my beast Reaver Warrior... she is scary tough.
