Yeah, especially because from the context of the codex and various conversations it doesn't seem like he's supposed to be much older than early twenties. And yet he looks almost 40. It's the vein thing that does it. *shudders*

Alot of my male Hawkes look sort of weird. XD I'll post Leon (the warrior and unrefined version not the manipulative bastard). He's a redhead but he looks very...bird like. (His nose looks like a beak I swear.  )

I dunno. They've got a lot of similarities, but I think they're still pretty distinct. I've seen a fair variety of Hawkes on this thread alone, both ladies and gents. And I know my lady Hawkes look very little like the ones my husband made. Thus far I haven't seen a man Hawke that looks much like mine, either.

ETA: It's the fact that we can't change the mouth much nor make the cheeks hollow nor make a a thin face with the exception of 1 preset (2 if you can modify default Hawke).

Not being able to change the mouth is annoying. Also, the fact that doing things like adding sideburns locks the jawline is also troublesome. Despite that, it seems like you can work through those things to get pretty distinctive looking. I haven't actually looked into the Show off your Hawke thread, so I can't speak for that. Just basing it off the Hawkes I've seen posted in screenshots here. As for me, I can't post my Hawkes because I'm on the 360 and photos usually turn out fugly for me.

But anyway, I do get what you're saying.

lol yukidama. XD Amusingly his nose look fine from the side. It's only when you're looking at him from certain angles that it looks very beakish.

The books are awesome. You should see quite a few connections to Dragon Age, too, as certain elements seem to have inspired the games (or else my crazy conspiracy theories are just as wild as they seem). 

Also, I don't know if anyone watches Chuck, but he was totally reading the first book in the series in one of the last episodes. He didn't mention it by name, but he referenced an event from early in the book. I squeed like the fangirl I am.
