My HAWKE could probably steel herself against Anders' puppy eyes some of the time.  But since I the player cannot...it's a bit of a moot point

Neither myself, nor Marian Hawke can resist the kitty eyes (I decided, Alistair has the puppy-eyes, Anders has kitty-eyes. Seriously, my cat can pull puppy-dog eyes better than my puppy!)

Luckily, fem!Hawke has her "dissapointed-pout" for backup.

m!Hawke isn't a doormat for anybody except for Carver and his mother, but he does like using force magic to squash people into doormats...

Someone posted that picture on the Alistair thread a long time ago, but with lasers coming out of Alistair's eyes, destroying MS Paint buildings at the bottom of the picture. That pretty much destroyed the creepiness.

*sigh* this is sooo difficult. In this game my Hawke is going to side with the templars for the first time and I've decided that since this means I have to *sob* stab Anders he should kill Ella. Anything to make it feel as more of a mercy-killing in the end. Current Hawke romances Sebastian so there is no way around it. Just did the dialogue when you give Anders the tevinter-amulett and I just have to reload. Can't handle that sweet and funny conversation with Anders about kittens and virgins without romancing him.... gah... I am so so weak.

Oh man, breaking up with Zevran, rejecting his proposal, or asking him to leave (when romanced/ in love) are so much sadder than rejecting Anders after sleeping with him. Probably because, unlike Anders, Zev doesn't get mad. He just sounds resigned and heartbroken. So yes, I agree that his puppy eyes can be heart wrenching.

Thankfully, no heads were ripped.....yet. Though, the alarming glare he gives you might be an indication that he will.

He had me at, "you used me?" That was LOLtastic. But seriously, it's not cool to lead him on for 3 years only to shoot him down. Abominations still have feelings.

@Trophonius - That was a bit girly of him (and slightly comic ), and I guess with justice there's no middle ground - you dont just do fun -it's either ethernal love or you used him and you're a horrible person *Justice bursts in the bedroom the following night and rips Hawke's balls  head off*

@Inzhuna - yeah i saw that - Eeesh he is so MEAN about Merill! It's like my only Anders turn off I think, don't like RUDE people. I guess at least he's equally rude to her face and behind her back - yay -.-

Anders can be pretty cruel and petty. I don't like how he is dismissive towards Isabela as well. "She's like a side dish". Wtf. Still, as a character it enriches him, gives him believable flaws.

I liked that comment. It's a good reminder that underneath that revolutionary skin spouting words of undying love there's a still a man with a one track mind, who will objectify and letch at every opportunity.

I like it too, and it's part of why I stick to my snarky rogue with him and can't romance him on a softer, more diplomatic character.
Anders can be a bit of a bastard, he can be petty and judgemental, and we've all seen what he's like when he's angry. To me, that requires a partner that will stand up to him and call him on his **** when necessary. I won't rivalmance him - he and Hawke share the same views, even if they might disagree on particulars - but I like to think that they respect each other enough to speak up when one is being a ****, and their relationship is strong enough to stand any arguments that might cause.

I've only romanced Anders on sarcastic and aggresive Hawkes. Anders himself appreciates honesty, as he says "You look something. True. Proud. Like even if you don't agree with me you'll be honest". I think Hawke and Anders' romance is always strong, seeing as how he's willing to be even with someone who disagrees with him on fundamental issues. (Although I do think the final rivalmance scene should have been followed with Anders leaving the estate and maybe even breaking up if you pick certain dialogue options).
