Harbinger!Anders made me chuckle

On a different note, I was finishing NWN for the first time last night, and when I got to the confrontation with Aribeth, her pre-fight speech set off some unpleasant bells:

"Justice? Of course it's not justice, it's vengeance!"
"They executed my lover, that's what pushed me over the edge."
"I'm set to destroy an entire city. The only fitting outcome is that I die for what I've done."

And you can either kill her yourself or convince her to turn herself in for execution.

Dammit BW!

Yep. And then you can get her in expansion in some snow-covered killjoy place. It's strange how much people liked her - I know I did -  and there are some, who played through this... quiete boring game just because of her. 
(I'm getting nostalgic - eh, it was my first RPG )
Think there should be an option to run off with her?

When doing a PT where you sleep with Izzy, Fenris, then Anders, does it matter which order you sleep with Izzy/ Fenris?

Well, I hear you can romance her if you're a male character, so there might be an option to run off with her in that case. Knowing her though, she'd most likely refuse it.

I'm not particularly fond of her...her VA was probably a lot to blame. Also the fact that she makes her betrayal sound a lot like a hissy fit during that last speech.

To be completely honest though, the only reason I decided to plod through NWN is because I'd heard good things about Valen

Of course, that was before I realized he was only available in the second expansion. *le sigh*

Ah, but she's partly the reason why I'm at 100% friendship with both Anders and Fenris. They always agree when it comes to lambasting poor Merrill.

But yeah, he's especially vitriolic towards her. I think it may have something to do with him seeing himself in her and actually doesn't want her to descend towards a potentially self-destructive path like he did. You know, dealing with demons and losing herself in the process. I'd like to believe it's tough love on his part. That's why he deliberately scares the bejeezus out of her with abomination horror tales and pointedly tells her to get rid of the damn mirror.

I'm going to drag this up because it's the first post I happened to see this morning, and it brought up something that happened to me this weekend. I got into an argument in a restaurant (yep) with my friend who hates Anders. I wonder what the other people eating thought? Oh well, I don't care. It got pretty heated because, get this... he insisted that the Templars were a completely separate faction and had nothing to do with the Chantry. Chantry was all "peace and love" and "it didn't make any sense why Anders went after them." I told him of course it didn't make any sense to HIM and that he missed something HUGE. I asked him who controlled the Templars.
"Other Templars."
Seriously?! 
I asked about the Grand Cleric and he said Meredith doesn't listen to
her because she doesn't have to. I said no, she doesn't listen to her
because she's USELESS.

I then went home and took screenshots of all the codex entry that says the Templars are the military arm of the Chantry - the very thing he insisted they weren't - and emailed them to him. Still waiting for his reply...
How many other people don't get that the Chantry controls the Templars?

He also tried to say you don't make a revolution by forcing people to choose sides, but backed down real quick when my husband laughed and said that's exactly what you do.

well it's true. most people like the middle ground... no middle ground pushes people to a side.

and blowing up the chantry makes perfect sense because it worked. it achieved what it was supposed to

Yes and no. Sleep with Fenris first, because sometimes sleeping with bela will break Fenris's romance flags, even if you don't persue the romance. Mind you it doesn't always break it, but it's been my unfortunate luck that it has. <3So if you're going with "Dirty **** Hawke", go Fenris, then Bela, then Anders.

Hey, all -that- says to us is that you have awesome friends willing to discuss your intrests while hanging out in the outside world. I would KILL for some friends who actually liked computer games. As it is if I even bring up comptuers my girls roll their eyes at me <_<

One of these days, I'm going to kidnap some of my online buddies and move them in-state so I can HANG OUT with people who understand:police:

Hey, all -that- says to us is that you have awesome friends willing to discuss your intrests while hanging out in the outside world. I would KILL for some friends who actually liked computer games. As it is if I even bring up comptuers my girls roll their eyes at me <_<

Hah, Valen was a suprise. A very pleasent suprise.  Suspicious blood-hungry half-demon, also honest and protective ... And I recall him blushing, when flirted...

Second expansion (and mods - let's not forget all this wonderful mods) is worth buying full game - too short, but very nicely done. And about mods - I suggest trying... hmm Dance with Rogues? And Tortured Hearts - this one's parody, and need a lot of patience and time, but it's a funny one - and a lot of roleplaying is included.

I thought it was really awesome how DAII reversed the stereotypes and had the men catfighting over Hawke whereas the women LIs were pretty cool with each other. I did hear Merrill warn Isabela to keep her hands off or something like that but it wasn't mean-spirited.

Both GoA and WH are noted in the import data, but I haven't noticed a hard difference yet. If I had to guess, I'd say at least WH might come up in future DLC, expansions, etc.
