I liked it. Especially in the case of a guy Hawke, where else do you see something like that and it isn't played off as "gay for lulz"? It's very nice.

For sure. I mean, everyone's complaining about how Anders instantly flirts with a male Hawke when you have the option to turn him down earlier. So what if it results in 10-15 rivalry points? There are plenty more opportunities to make up for it. Either way, it's nice that he initiated it and doesn't make a big deal out of his attraction to men. He just forewarns you if you're bothered by it.

EDIT: Playing that scene again at the Hawke Estate and my m!Hawke went "Don't call him that!" and Anders goes, "Fine! I don't know what you see in a maniac like that. Perhaps your hands can tame him!" (referring to Fenris). Intense stuff.

So, Vengeance... it's not actually a demon right? Just a "bad" spirit? Because supposedly there are only 5 types of demons, hunger, lust, sloth, anger and pride.

Justice said something in Awakening about how demons are the spirits who covet the mortal realm. I think bad spirits are colloquially defined as demons even if they don't fit into one of the neat categories.

Honestly Vengeance would suit the Anger and Pride mix to me.

Anger at the Templar abuses and Justice is too prideful to admit he's been corrupted.

There's probably more people, people who do not use the forums and all. To Anders he seemed to have a justified cause. The problem with the kill Anders forum is their ideals, sure it is nice to sit back and watch from the sidelines and then incriminate people later, but when you are thrown into it is more relistic. There are plently of things in our world which resulted in many people's deaths, every war. The bombing of Hiroshima, Blitzkeg, several innocent people were killed during the Cold War along with spies, even down to our normal everyday life, cops are killed civilians accidentally shot, murder rape. We do not live in a world of ideals as Isabela said. Those people wish to ignore life. In order for change people usually went to drastic mesures and the popular vote wins by far like in the American Revolution and any other revolution for all other countires like Veitnam, they were a French colony and now have their freedom.

Even if you agree with Anders in principle that the mages are mistreated and the Circle has failed, it doesn't mean you want to go about changing it by such extreme means.

My mage chose to kill him because he was a dangerous abomination that was obviously only going to get more dangerous.  She had killed bad mages and abominations for much less, earlier in the game.  That's not idealism, it's very pragmatic.  I did reload and spare him because I thought he ought to fight, but I wish we had a chance to go back and execute him after the final battle.

The spouse spared him because he was playing a warrior and wanted at least one healer for his party.

Sometimes the the worst punishment is living, knowing what you have done. Anders wished for death and to him that would have been the easy way out of things.

If Anders didn't blow up the chantry and start the whole revolution thing, would the templar-mage conspiracy have done it eventually, what do you think?

Another person would have taken the banner and done so.

I was very pro-mage the entire game but was appalled when Anders just pulled that out at the end. I just wanted to freak out at him but then I really thought about what he had been saying and despite the fact that is may have seemed extreme at that moment, in the grand scheme of things, it was necessary. Good thing conversations don't happen in real time, because it took me about 10 minutes to make a decision. XD

I later went back to an earlier save and told him to leave and then realized, sadly, during the character select screen, that I only had 3 characters left for my party. :P Maybe my Hawke is a little too opinionated.

What's this in reference to? Fenris?

Actually there's probably more types and Justice in Awakening states that deamons are spirits perverted by their desires. Chantry preists state that spirits are the Maker's children and are a resemblance of the good in humanity, so in other words they are the seven heavenly virtues and the seven deadly sins. In my theory any how.

Yep!  If you romance Fenris first and then Anders, he'll ask about Fenris when he shows up at the estate.  Picking "Don't call him that" leads to Anders walking out in a huff, and presumably lets you continue Fenris's relationship?  That's also when you can tell him that Fenris left you and get the sweet "I'm sorry he hurt you..." line.

Tee hee.

Anders: Perhaps your hands can tame him!
Hawke: ::eyes glaze over::
Anders: Oh Maker, I do not even want to know what I've just put in your head.

Yeah. If you romance Fenris then left him for Anders, Anders will come visit you at the estate. He'll say "I thought you and Fenris....or did the beast finally turn on you?" Hawke has the option of saying "I love him", but if he does, Anders gets furious and calls Fenris a maniac then leaves.

Hahahaha, I only played his romance scene through once when I was romancing Fenris, I might go back just to explore the dialogue tree since I only picked the 'He left me' line, even though this was after he and Fenris had made up, which makes it even more amusing. I guess Hawke was lying to get into Anders' pants, since I dumped him right after (then reloaded, none of it ever happened *waves hand*)

Oh I guess you're right. But still Anders's case is really strange. It's completely different from all other "possessions" in DA, both with spirits or with demons.

Not strange, unique. The only other spirit possession was Wynne, who technically died and doesn't not feel as much hostility as Anders does. Anders also is perfectly healthy and has not died.

Damn, the last scene with Anders and M!Hawke makes Anders sound even more like a gay rights activist than usual

Oh Anders, so forward thinking <3

:crying: Indeed.

I'm currently running around with him, Merrill and Fen (and my mage Hawke). Team Mages go! Alas if only I could keep Carver.

Why Fen has to be the only 2HD? This sucks. :(

But I'm gonna use that mod to make Aveline into a 2HD so.:police:

Wynne didn't actually die. She was just close to it as far as I remember. But yeah I think that's probably the most similar case, but of course "vengeance" is going to have a worse effect on a character's personality than "faith".

I always had Carver, Anders and Varric.

Then Carver became a Grey Warden. But he came back in the end!
