I thought that line was sweet, but the "Noting is more important than love!!!" line during the Questioning Beliefs quest in act 3 did make me cringe a bit.

Ah yeah, that line. I kind of agreed with it in spirit. Like, love is one of the most important/powerful forces in the world, or something like that. But I didn't agree with what the line was saying in that situation which was- our love is more important than this cause.

I... don't know if I'm making sense anymore... :pinched:

I do see what you mean. The line could have been worded better. "Love is important too" or something along those lines would have been better.

Yes, this. I think, in fact, that is what the option says in the dialogue wheel. So I thought it would come out to something like that. So, more "Love is also important" and less "The only thing that matters is our lurve."

EDIT: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, top again. :pinched: Here, have some lurve.

I don't recall this line. How do you get it?

He says it here at around 3:20. It's cringeworthy, but at least Anders admits that while you're the most important thing to him, there are far more important matters worth attending to.

I agree with this. Honestly, that's kind of how I saw Anders from the start in DA2. He seemed to feel things so much stronger than most people.

Also, I too thought his ultraromanticness was adorable. Hawke was a little less excuseable. TIL THE DAY WE DIE!

Dialogue wheel: Move in? Oh, yeah, sure. Whatever.
Hawke: I WANT YOU RIGHT HERE, TIL THE DAY WE DIE!!!!!!<3<3<3<3<3<3!!!!<3<3!

Ugh. I really wish Hawke could ask Anders to move in a more normal manner. That line makes me cringe every time.

OMG I love this line!  It annoys the hell out of my husband so I use it all the time now.
When he comes back from a bike ride, it's: "I WANT YOU RIGHT HERE, TIL THE DAY WE DIE!!!!!!"
When he comes out of the bathroom, it's: "I WANT YOU RIGHT HERE, TIL THE DAY WE DIE!!!!!!"

Ahhhhhhh....  :D

Okay, I make fun of it, but I will admit my canon Hawke always uses the TIL THE DAY WE DIE!!!!!!! line instead of the sandwich one. The sandwich one has an adorable response on Anders' part, but I can't ever imagine my canon Hawke saying that. I mean, she would say snarky things, but not often when it came to the romance.

Especially when it's the first time Anders has completely admitted his feelings, I feel like she has to say something similar back. I just wish it was a little less over the top.

Mine would. She totally picked the "Is in it verse?" line in Anders clinic after DAT KISS and telling her how he couldn't keep going without telling her how he felt. That's my Hawke: always tactful when people are pouring their hearts out to her.

I had something similar in mind when I first wrote that response. Hopefully Anders and Hawke will never combine their creep levels, or we'll all be doomed. Doooooomed.

"Our quest is in vain! Why do we not simply lie down and die? Onwards, to futility!"
*cough* Sorry that was my inner emo-elf fangirl assuming direct control.

The result would be hilarious though.

I'm a bit . . . ambivalent about Justice, on the one hand there's the black and white mentality, but on the other hand, Anders would probably still be extremely flippant and selfish without that influence.
I RP'd my Hawke as not necessarily liking Justice per se, but understanding at least that the spirit is in part where Anders' passion for mage freedom comes from, and that is something she loves about him/them/whatever. I friendmanced him with this Hawke for the record.

Also, Harry Potter fandom. I used to be reasonably involved, then it started going crazy and I backed - away - slowly. But still totally stalked Azkaban's Lair. Remus/Sirius forevar!

Yeah, that's how my Hawke feels about Justice.  She would've had a fling with Awakening Anders, but that's not why she fell in love with him.  She fell in love with his passion, his emotional intensity, all the emergent properties of his personality that came about as a result of the merger with Justice.

Also, Remus/Sirius is my Harry Potter OTP.  Wolfstar FTW.

Ah that's not so bad. The line is pretty cringworthy but not as badly as I expected.

I have to say, I agree with this approach for RP purposes. I will put up with the cringeyness to stay true to my Hawke.

I'm now wondering how similar our Hawke's are, we both seem to have taken a similar approach!

LOL.

I'd say Anders actually has qualities of both Remus and Sirius.  He's got Remus's looks and sweetness, and Sirius's emotional intensity and impulsiveness.  As well as the "I'm a monster/I was imprisoned" issues of both.

OMG.  Now I know why I love Anders so much.  He is the lovechild of my very first fandom OTP

I'm such a bad HP fan, I can't even remember if Lupin dies in the last book or not. I was talking about it with my younger sister, who is currently reading the 4th book. She apparently stans for Sirius and Lupin as well (not as a couple though heh)

Well, if your avatar is anything to judge by, they at least have the same hair cut (in case you couldn't tell since my Hawke is in creeper mode for my avatar).

Out of curiosity, what sort of Hawke did you have?

My Hawkes would rather be beaten with a necroboner and see Sebastian with Merrill than say that line.  Now, if it were Alistair the Warden would pounce on it like...well, Alistair on cheese.  :P  In a rivalmance it just sounds stupid.

Edited for spelling fail.

This is even more and more confusing.
"Justice and Vengeance are too intertwined. I can't tell one from the other"
Poor Anders, what the hell is there in that little cute head of yours ç_ç

So he says he can't distinguish his thoughts from Justice ones. Later apparently he can. Then now we discover that he feels Justice and Vengeance like two entities intertwined...and there is always him in that cute head. What a bundle of tragic drama he is.

Totally unrelated side note about HP fandom: The only couple I could totally ship and I adore is Remus/Sirius. All the rest, was good just for crack fiction xD

The problem is that Justice is an idea that differs from person to person.

NWN1. Lady Aribeth.
Justice. Vengeance.

MESS.

I saw that line as him talking about justice and vengeance the concepts, not Justice and Vengeance the entitites. Otherwise it really doesn't make much sense.

I don't know, I see capital letters for Justice and Vengeance, seems to me he is talking about two entities. I'm pretty sure at this point he is more confused than us.

I took it as him saying anyting positive (to him) was actually Justice and anything negative was Vengeance. That's the only way I can make sense of it.

I dunno, he never mentions Justice and Vengeance as two different entities at any other point in the game as far as I know.
