I'm a bit . . . ambivalent about Justice, on the one hand there's the black and white mentality, but on the other hand, Anders would probably still be extremely flippant and selfish without that influence.
I RP'd my Hawke as not necessarily liking Justice per se, but understanding at least that the spirit is in part where Anders' passion for mage freedom comes from, and that is something she loves about him/them/whatever. I friendmanced him with this Hawke for the record.
Also, Harry Potter fandom. I used to be reasonably involved, then it started going crazy and I backed - away - slowly. But still totally stalked Azkaban's Lair. Remus/Sirius forevar!
Yeah, that's how my Hawke feels about Justice. She would've had a fling with Awakening Anders, but that's not why she fell in love with him. She fell in love with his passion, his emotional intensity, all the emergent properties of his personality that came about as a result of the merger with Justice.
Also, Remus/Sirius is my Harry Potter OTP. Wolfstar FTW.
Argh! Get out of my head!! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]
On a personal level it's why I prefer DA2 Anders over DA:A Anders. I just can't put up with constant snark. It's not even the passionate defense of mages with me, Justice seems to have brought out more kindness too.
I wonder if Awakenings Anders would have run a free clinic in the sewers of a city where he'd likely be Tranquilled for it?
Lol, I've never heard it called 'Wolfstar' before! It's my fanon OTP. Hermione/Ron is my actual OTP. Apparently I like romances where is takes them years of aching for each other before they get together. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

I have to say, I agree with this approach for RP purposes. I will put up with the cringeyness to stay true to my Hawke.YamiSnuffles wrote...
Okay, I make fun of it, but I will admit my canon Hawke always uses the TIL THE DAY WE DIE!!!!!!! line instead of the sandwich one. The sandwich one has an adorable response on Anders' part, but I can't ever imagine my canon Hawke saying that. I mean, she would say snarky things, but not often when it came to the romance.
Especially when it's the first time Anders has completely admitted his feelings, I feel like she has to say something similar back. I just wish it was a little less over the top.
I'm now wondering how similar our Hawke's are, we both seem to have taken a similar approach!
Well, if your avatar is anything to judge by, they at least have the same hair cut (in case you couldn't tell since my Hawke is in creeper mode for my avatar).
Out of curiosity, what sort of Hawke did you have?
I RP'd my Hawke snarky (dual wield rogue), who uses humour much the way Anders did in Awakening (to cover up the emo), but when it comes to family, and people she cares about in general she's diplomatic/nice, has a massive blindspot to their flaws and is fiercely over protective. She's also an 'ends justify the means' sort of a girl, and so she completely agreed with Anders about the Chantry thing, and probably would have helped him if he'd let her.
I tried to make her more of a hardliner to counteract my warden who was a fencesitter (I wanted drama!), but I ended up loving them both equally, so I just couldn't make her be mean to people she loves!

Say... remember when
Sirius = Fenris,
and Remus = Anders?
*is shot* XD
LOL.
I'd say Anders actually has qualities of both Remus and Sirius. He's got Remus's looks and sweetness, and Sirius's emotional intensity and impulsiveness. As well as the "I'm a monster/I was imprisoned" issues of both.
D8
OMG. Now I know why I love Anders so much. He is the lovechild of my very first fandom OTP
*brain breaks*
...this explains EVERYTHING.
I...need to go think for a bit. My fandom world has just collapsed into a singularity.
Edit: Also, sorry guys for the post dump forum faux pas. Internet decided it was past my bedtime. Which it is actually. Oops!

He was speaking about the concepts while directly alluding to Justice in a non-literal fashion. i.e., he can't figure out whether Justice the entity represents justice or has been corrupted into vengeance, because the line between the two is fine to begin with.Dunizel wrote...
I don't know, I see capital letters for Justice and Vengeance, seems to me he is talking about two entities. I'm pretty sure at this point he is more confused than us.

No problem, I'm probably off to bed soon myself.
My canon Hawke was 2H warrior, She ironically seems to be the opposite of your Hawke in some ways and really similar in others. So, different in that she was generally diplomatic except with her friends. With her friends she was usually snarky, as they were the people she most felt comfortable joking with. She also ended up being snarky with people she didn't think deserved respect. Although, she was nearly always really soft and diplomatic with her family (Leandra and Bethany at least; she was pretty much always snarky with Gamlen). The same ended up being true with Anders. Although she would still argue with him at times, she was generally diplomatic with him.
She ended up being really pro-mage, so she was also pretty hardline but not quite an "ends justify the means" type. Although, after the whole Chantry bombing and subsequent running off with Anders, that seems to be slowly changing.

I could say something exceptionally creepy, but just take any of Anders' lines about ACHING and insert them as you will
Wolfstar is the word for it from FictionAlley. I loved that ship. I'd say Harry/Luna were my actual OTP just because Luna is so wonderfully quirky, but I also ship Ron/Hermione.

My favorite Hawkes are all snark, all the time (except with Viscount over Seamus's dead body 'cos that's just wrong). She's making up for the fact that my Warden couldn't have a snark-fest with Anders...in bed. My head canon is Anders and Hawke cracking wholly inappropriate jokes at night mocking the nobles that snivel all over Hightown and the whiners lounging around Lowtown and the horrible fashion sense of just about everyone. Except Sebastian. We just want to steal his armor.signcherie wrote...

I am not the happiest camper right now.
First of all, I got into another heated Anders debate with SNG. It was over a club sandwich, though. Sooooo that made it a bit better.
Second of all, his dog....this little fluffy mop tinker thing....vomited on my shoe. And he was like, "A HA. THAT'S WHAT TASER THINKS OF YOUR OPINION." I was like, "Oh yeah, well maybe I should bring my giant 150 pound Great Dane over here. We'll see who's gloating then."
Third of all, he dented my car door with his laptop case.
Then I get home and my cat upchucks on my keyboard.
>_< Someone....please....pictures. Funny pictures. Before my head blows up everywhere.
