Hey, I find this really strange. I figured Alistair fans would go Anders, and Zevran to Fenris. Maybe I'm weird...but thats what I figured. However, it seems that most of my  Alistairian buddies have gone all Fenris. Me? I only romanced Zevran once. I of course loved Alistair (spent 9 months on IRS A) and I really...can't get into Fenris.

Compassion for the Tranquil is pretty heart breaking from what I've read, admittedly not enough, but I know the writer and she's absolutely amazing.

Also, I have a giant list of m!Hawke/Anders fics I rec all the damn time on my LJ if you want them.

Uhhh The Absence of Mercy....Frost Bite...Vengence....the one with the Arishock/Anders....Compasion for the Tranquil was a good one and I want more

I've been reading (and patiently waiting for an update) The Last Straw. It's an M!Hawke/Anders one where Anders is caught and made Tranquil and Hawke gets to a point where he is going to make everything suck for everyone in Kirkwall.

It makes my heart ache.

It's also writen in Templar!Carvar's PoV, which is neat.

I've never been all into Alistair's romance, even if my Amell ended up being Wardens forevher with him. He's a cute... kid. I'm kid myself, so it should be fine with - and it was at first. Then that Landsmeet stuff happend. I haven't been able to read that, it's too much for me :crying:

Oh and another fic that just started up, but I KNOW it's going to be awesome: The Last Inch by the same author of Red Queen, Windows of Opportunity and Motives. She is damn amazing.

Edit: I SUPPOSE SUMMARIES ARE A GOOD THING! m!Hawke/Anders, where m!Hawke is a snarky rogue who is a raider on Isabela's ship and finds Anders who has been collared and leashed by the templars. I feel badly for Anders, but the hilarity that this fic has inspired makes me over look it.

That was my issue with Alistair as well.
I wish I'd had an option to say "There's no room in the Grey Wardens for children, Alistair. Didn't Duncan eplain that?"

Because I'm pretty damn sure Duncan would have spared Loghain. (Besides, Loghain is alright "I just thought I'd report that I failed my mission, Loghain." "...no sh*t, elf.")

I always pair Alistair with Mahariel, who I always picture as very mature, ruthless and dutiful... so it... never really ends well.

I think it's because I always ended with the "Wardens being like a family" ending for Anders. It's like the Warden and co were the first home and family he'd had since being taken to the circle, and it was the Warden who gave him that.

Also, the Warden is indirectly partialy responsible for the Justice incident (as is Nate), so the Warden does it, if necessary.

Also, a mage-warden may do so to protect the rest of their kind.

Also, the awesomeness of the Warden is second only to Commander Shepard, who is the Chuck Norris of the gaming world.

Having Anders kill Hawke would be epic for angst though. :devil:


Yeah, I think the Warden-Commander would feel partially ... responsible for what happened. As you said, he/she was the one who brought along both Anders and Justice, he/she gave him the oportunity to escape the circle, he/she gave him Ser Pounce-a-lot ( ;) )


And in the case of my Warden-Commander it's also her own sense of duty and her dislike of leaving things unfinished. Anders wasn't her friend or anything, but she would feel responsible. One of her recruits has fused with a spirit of Justice and ran off to Maker knows where, became an abomination, or whatever.
She's the kind of person who wouldn't be able to let it rest.
And I think if anything about his act and his flight from Kirkwall would transpire she would be the first to pack her things and chase after him.

I don't know, it feels kinda strange thinking about all that, but I can't help but wonder how the Warden-Commander would tie in in the whole story. Is it okay to talk about that? You know, your OWN Warden instead of generally all Wardens?

Anyway, I am very curious to see if the Warden may make an appearance in any future game, maybe really to chase down Anders, or because of any other mysterious event that transpired.

YES. I agree so much.

I would have loved an option to take Alistair aside, to explain the motives of my Warden, to make him understand that there are only THREE WARDENS left in Ferelden, and that the Archdemon was practically scraping dirt off his claws at the front door, and that there was NO time whatsoever for throwing a tantrum.

I'm not really an Alistair-fan, but I didn't dislike him either. He was fun, but after he pulled that stand after the landsmeet, I realized that he is a lot more selfish, naive and short-tempered than he ever let on. And not that this made me dislike him, but I began seeing him quite differently than the "cute virginal sarcastic best buddy".


(Haha, my canon mage warden (avatar) would be best discribed as ruthless, dutiful and ... kinda mature. And calculating )

Actually, I read somewhere that Duncan would have abandoned Ferelden and wrote it off as a lost cause while preparing Orlais to fight the blight. Don't remember where I read that.

I liked Alistair's romance, but yeah the landsmeet really pissed me off.

Oh yeah Stay with me was good too, Release is getting steamy even though on part 3, My Manic and I is so real and sa, Love you to Death I want it finished. Second Opinion makes me want Doctor Anders. Of Peas and Pod was rough and wow, I can't wait to see more of Weight Issues. Grey Weather is pretty good as well; And then there were two is fluffy sweet. For your Eyes only is needing a sequel, shall I continue?

...Odd I never got mad at the landsmeet. Alistair had constantly told my female PC he did not want to be king. So...she didn't make him king.

After that I ended up reading about hardening him and I started harddening him and marrying him to Anora (while remaining mistress). I liked that ending wasn't perfect but then what is.
