I've been reading (and patiently waiting for an update) The Last Straw. It's an M!Hawke/Anders one where Anders is caught and made Tranquil and Hawke gets to a point where he is going to make everything suck for everyone in Kirkwall.

It makes my heart ache.

It's also writen in Templar!Carvar's PoV, which is neat.

I haven't been able to read that, it's too much for me

Oh and another fic that just started up, but I KNOW it's going to be awesome: The Last Inch by the same author of Red Queen, Windows of Opportunity and Motives. She is damn amazing.

Edit: I SUPPOSE SUMMARIES ARE A GOOD THING! m!Hawke/Anders, where m!Hawke is a snarky rogue who is a raider on Isabela's ship and finds Anders who has been collared and leashed by the templars. I feel badly for Anders, but the hilarity that this fic has inspired makes me over look it.

Ooh, I'll have to check that one out, then.

And yeah, the Last Straw is pretty heart ache worthy. At first I was all, "I can't read Hawke/Tranquil!Anders, I just can't, it'll kill me." And to be honest, it did. I admit I cried a little bit. >.>

But Maker, the concept of Hawke breaking like that and going all vengeance (or maybe Vengeance (prays to anon author gods)) crazed is too amazing to give up.

Hmm i can't say i see much appeal in Alistair's romance, but surprised to see the DA2 one would get rated higher, since they seem hilariously bad to me. With Anders i lose it hopelessly as soon as the "smack umff umff umff" kiss happens and it never really recovers after that.

It could be things are too constrained by the mechanical limitations (they seem to be limited to have major developments in single conversations with very little buildup) that things are getting very ham-fisted out of necessity... but still. Dunno.

Oh and I feel this fic needs some pimpage too: A Distant Ray of Light by our resident highcastle. Extremely well written, depicting the events of the DA2 through Anders' eyes and many of scenes have been heartbreaking as well.

YES. I agree so much.

I would have loved an option to take Alistair aside, to explain the motives of my Warden, to make him understand that there are only THREE WARDENS left in Ferelden, and that the Archdemon was practically scraping dirt off his claws at the front door, and that there was NO time whatsoever for throwing a tantrum.

I'm not really an Alistair-fan, but I didn't dislike him either. He was fun, but after he pulled that stand after the landsmeet, I realized that he is a lot more selfish, naive and short-tempered than he ever let on. And not that this made me dislike him, but I began seeing him quite differently than the "cute virginal sarcastic best buddy".


(Haha, my canon mage warden (avatar) would be best discribed as ruthless, dutiful and ... kinda mature. And calculating )

Heh, my canon Amell, the one that ended up with Alistair, was a selfish, arrogant, blunt, but also charming and clever one. She had an interesting sexual past and a fine dose of self-loathing. She hated being caged, and she hated when her decisions were made for her - so I think after all this business with Amaranthine, she fled - with covers pretty with DA2. 
I've never considered making any of my wardens his mistress - too much pride

Well, The Last Inch isn't quite nailing what an a'dam is, so it's got my inner Wheel of Time geek in an uproar.  Other than that it's well written.

I don't like the armor for any of the classes in that DLC. I might have gotten the warrior one otherwise. Or, at the very least, I want some sort of quest to go with this, like Return to Ostagar.

I'll wait to shell out for some questing DLC.

Oh, and, um... ANDERSBUTT.
