Lovely as Gir's singing voice is, I'd rather hear Deekin's doom song.

Doomed, Doomed, We is aaaaall Doooooooomed~!!!

As far as Bioware crossovers go, I want to see Xan meets Deekin.

Deekin? Must be from a game i havn't played yet

EDIT: Top and ander's finding out i don't know who this character is:

Well, I was actually thinking of this post...

Regarding Cailan leaving Anora, it's hinted at in Return to Ostagar, and according to Cailan's DA wiki page, Gaider confirmed it in an interview (there's a link over there).

*runs off to class*

Then I can only assume that in the time between Origins and DA2 he got so sick of people asking where their happy ending was that he shrivelled and died inside.

I think I love you! The banter really would be to die for.

On a more serious note, do you think Justice really would go apesh*t on Alistair, even though he's not really a Templar?

Well, he's not actually a templar (and King Alistair seems willing to help mages) so I doubt he'd set off Justice.

Edit: And on the topic of doomed love in the DA setting... didn't David Gaider mention before that he doesn't believe in happy endings?

Yep! Although, it seems like he forgot that when they released Witch Hunt. Stupid Morrigan lovers get to disappear with their witch and their OGBs. Granted, I don't imaging life in an Eluvian is the best, but it seems pretty sweet to me.

This was my thinking as well. Alistair never struck me as being particularly religious, even more so after the above banter.

i think Alistair even says at some point he's not real religious. Act I Anders would probably overlook it and end up at the hangman playing cards with him and Varric, but act III anders would probably just glower a lot at the Templar turned Warden.

Sadly this is probably true.

I so wanted them to be Amaranthine snark buddies. Alas, it was not to be.

That's what fanfic's for! I've read one where Anders has the most hilarious reaction when he found out that Alistair was a templar.

Nope, they were actually quite cordial when I took Anders with Margaret for her audience with the King.

Actually, that's just reminded me, if you meet Alistair with Anders in the party they make absolutely no mention of them both being Wardens whatsoever. Is that a glitch, or did they just overlook the whole warden-sense thing?

I'm sure Alistair and Anders would get along just fine.

Oh, one more.

Anders: I recognise you. From the Circle. You used to tutor me and the other apprentices from time to time.
Wynne: Silence your tongue, monster. I do not converse with abominations.
Anders: And here I thought you might understand. Your situation is not so different.
Wynne: Understand? You murder innocents without a second thought. Do not presume to compare us.
Anders: So no chance of a quick game of 'who's got the best spirit inside them', then.
Wynne: Jest if you wish. Deep down you must know the horror you have become.
Anders: Huh. I didn't realise there were spirits of preaching.

I wonder who actually would get along in that bunch. Zevran and Varric? Varric and Oghren too I imagine, once he'd stopped making fun of his lack of beard. Everybody loves Varric eventually.

Dear Wynne,
SHUT UP.
Love, every living thing on Thedas.

It's the chest hair.
It'd be funny just to see Zevran winning against everybody. It's like:

Oghren - 2
Zevran - 90989289999999999999.....9999902.
Everybody else - 0.

Zev just wins.
Except against Varric.

I think that's a glitch. When Anders met Alistair in my game it was all "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey weren't you a warden?" "Heeeeeeeeeeey weren't you one too?" kinda thing.

If Justice can overlook the whole almost a Templar thing:

Anders + Alistair = Epic Bromance.

What? When I did that quest, it went like this, paraphrased.

Anders: Didn't you used to be a Warden?
Alistair: That's the rumor. Wait. Didn't you used to be a Warden?
Anders: That's the rumor.
Alistair: Huh. (in a joking voice)

It was really funny, actually.

a few pages back now... I'm still catching up on the million pages that appeared as I slept.
But the thing that jumps out at me about this is not how romantic it is (though it is ;)), but bloody hell the Kirkwall templars noticed someone using magic....  They must have been more vigilant in Malcolm's day.

Mine, too. And Aveline and Isabela even got their lines in (mainly Aveline being all starstruck and Isabela being all ****struck). I always marvel at how much better Anders looks than Alistair, then feel slightly smug that I picked the winning horse (in appearance, at least).

Ooh, you don't have a link do you? I was going to write a little ficlet where my Warden, Anders and Zevran tease Alistair about being the only straight person in the room. It was going to be all light-hearted and fun. Then I played DA2 and got deliciously sucker punched with the fist of 'no happy endings for you!' and I just can't bring myself to write it any more.

Don't worry; I'm sure he has something nefarious planned.  We don't actually know what happened after they went into the Eluvian, after all.  We'll find out that Morrigan murdered the Warden so her OGB could feast on his delicious blood or something like that.

In Peace, Vigilance (and drinking games)

I actually had this fic already open since all this talk about Alistair and Anders meeting up made me want to read it again. It's got eventual m!Hawke/Anders and is by the same author who wrote Blackpowder Compromise.

Edit: ooooh wow, most unfortunate typo I've made in a while.

Hrm. My only import is with Warden Alistair, not King Alistair. Could that be it? And even so, you'd think that would still trigger something. After all, they can sense each other!
Then again, I can't get Nate's quest to trigger either. *grumble*

Thanks, and thanks to Camilladilla too.  I played RTO, but didn't get the cheater vibe from the letters.  Cailan, you dog!  I'm throwing your carcass to the wolves next time.  Anora has her faults, but she loved you!

Silieth shows us the Warden's reaction to Anders' spicy shimmy.  I believe his shimmy sets her bush on fire.  To quote Upsettingshorts, I'll show myself out...

Ooooh yeah, from what I've seen only King Alistair gets that particular banter.

You meet Warden Alistair in the middle of a crisis so there's no time for chit chat I suppose?

Even Isabela makes some hilarious comments with King Alistair.

Alistair: You look different.
Isabela: Don't we all?
(paraphrasing pretty badly)

And she even comments on their threesome/foursome

Sort of. I think this is the post you might be thinking of.

It's not that he doesn't believe in happy endings so much as he doesn't believe in the saccharine sweet happily-ever-after-no-strings-attached type of fairytale stuff a lot of people seem to want. Which is pretty reasonable.

David Gaider wrote...
"[in regard to tragic relationships]...we could have gone a lot darker had we wished to -- the potential is certainly there -- so I'm by no means promising happy cloud fun times from here on in."

I'm not sure I like the tone of this post... *hopes he isn't talking about DLC or more Anders story line*

Ooh, thankyou. I don't know Blackpowder Compromise either, but then I'm new to the kinkmeme. I never know how you find out who the authors are!

ETA: Humph, well that sucks. I dunno, I just would have thought maybe Anders would get paranoid the Wardens were there to drag him back or somesuch. Or Alistair would be all; 'You're a warden. What are you doing here? We need you for warden-y stuff.' etc etc.
