And built by dwarves! For the Tevinter Imperium!

You know, I half expected Elthina to turn out to be a blood mage herself. It might explain the blood magic book lying around and how she convinces Meredith to leave at the start of act three. Looked to me like she was pulling that 'look into my eeeeyes' trick that Idunna was.

Maybe that'll be the big reveal in DA3, when we fight the end-of-series boss: Elthina's necromanced head grafted onto an animated, fire-breathing Gallows statue. Also, it'll be one hundred feet tall.

Awesome.

Why does Malcolm's staff have a naked lady on it? I thought it would be sweet to give it to Anders, since he was the LI, and had a very :o:blink::? kind of moment when I actually saw it.

psh, those things are a dime a dozen. Practically everything has "built by this paragon" or "Tevinter imperium or bust" attached too it.

Ooh, thankyou. I don't know Blackpowder Compromise either, but then I'm new to the kinkmeme. I never know how you find out who the authors are!

Mostly I recognize their writing styles, but in this case I happen to be friends with the author. Although I'm pretty certain I would have figured it out it was her since she's got quite the distinctive style.

Blackpowder Compromise, basically Sebastian remains a wild child and has awesome adventures with rogue Hawke. No Anders unfortunately :?

Ah. I'm still a Bioware newbie (has it really only been a year!?) so I've not been around the fandom that long.

Again, thanks for the link. Will have to check it out later, it's waay past my bedtime. I'll be the first to admit, I'm not Seb's biggest fan, but the idea's interesting. I may be able to overlook the lack of Anders this one time . . .

Edit: Gir! Gir makes everything better. Especially long journeys!

My bat**** insane Hawke reminds me of Gir in a lot of ways.  She's... special.

::In the Deep Roads::
Anders: How could you not know the way back to the surface?  I gave you those maps!
Hawke: Oh, I left those at home.
Anders: You left... what at home?
Hawke: The Deep Roads map thingy.
Anders: Why would you do that?!
Hawke: To make room for the cupcakes!

Thanks, and thanks to Camilladilla too.  I played RTO, but didn't get the cheater vibe from the letters.  Cailan, you dog!  I'm throwing your carcass to the wolves next time.  Anora has her faults, but she loved you!

I don't know, I think it's actually kind of admirable that he's putting the good of his country before his own feelings. He'd need heirs to keep the kingdom stable, and a political marriage to Celene would have made sure any peace treaties between Ferelden and Orlais were renewed. Eamon certainly makes it sound as if he adored Anora, but he was taking his responsibility to his people seriously.

Sound familiar, Fanders?

That said, I'm thinking about DA3 and if the Warden and Hawke were to join forces. What if they had to choose between themselves which living companions they would bring to fight that game's Big Bads? Especially if you imported PCs with conflicting personalities.

Warden: ...and I know a Qunari Sten who is handy with a sword and can assist us when treating with his people. I also know a fantastic archer, if I can pull her away from her duties with the Divine.
Hawke: Wait, what? You're not seriously bringing a chantry puppet on this little jaunt, are you? Why not invite a couple of templars, too, for a cozy chant-along by the fire? Anders would love that.
Warden: Anders? You're not taking Anders! I don't care if he's your boyfriend, he's a murderer!
Hawke: Oh, please. Elthina had it coming. And who are you calling a murderer, Miss Annuler-of-the-Ferelden Circle?
Warden: Those mages were abominations and blood mages! We're not all prepared to let that kind loose on the countryside.
Hawke: 'That kind', is it? You mean the kind of people that your precious Chantry systematically abuses and murders? The kind that your fraud Andraste would have wiped out?
Warden: You... you blasphemer!
Hawke: Oppressive scum!
Warden: Revolutionary thug!
Hawke: Idealistic coward!

ROFL

There would be two canon combinations for me:
M!Hawke (Garrett) and fem!Mahariel (Sa'eria)
M!Hawke and m!Surana (Arion)
fem!Hawke (Marian) and fem!Mahariel
fem!Hawke and m!Surana

Surana would get along with them both.

Marian would be terrified of Mahariel.
And Mahariel would be trying to strangle Garrett by the end of day 1.

RE Warden Alistair and Anders:

All I got was "Really? And I thought the Joining was a laugh a minute." in response to either a) some smart comment Alistair made or B) something Hawke said about Alistair not seeming much like a Warden. Can't remember which.

None of the "Hey, you're a Warden, too!" stuff that King Alistair gets, sadly.

Edit: @that staff. What.
