Thanks, and thanks to Camilladilla too. I played RTO, but didn't get the cheater vibe from the letters. Cailan, you dog! I'm throwing your carcass to the wolves next time. Anora has her faults, but she loved you!
I don't know, I think it's actually kind of admirable that he's putting the good of his country before his own feelings. He'd need heirs to keep the kingdom stable, and a political marriage to Celene would have made sure any peace treaties between Ferelden and Orlais were renewed. Eamon certainly makes it sound as if he adored Anora, but he was taking his responsibility to his people seriously.
Sound familiar, Fanders?

That said, I'm thinking about DA3 and if the Warden and Hawke were to join forces. What if they had to choose between themselves which living companions they would bring to fight that game's Big Bads? Especially if you imported PCs with conflicting personalities.
Warden: ...and I know a Qunari Sten who is handy with a sword and can assist us when treating with his people. I also know a fantastic archer, if I can pull her away from her duties with the Divine.
Hawke: Wait, what? You're not seriously bringing a chantry puppet on this little jaunt, are you? Why not invite a couple of templars, too, for a cozy chant-along by the fire? Anders would
love that.
Warden: Anders? You're not taking Anders! I don't care if he's your boyfriend, he's a murderer!
Hawke: Oh,
please. Elthina had it coming. And who are you calling a murderer, Miss Annuler-of-the-Ferelden Circle?
Warden: Those mages were abominations and blood mages! We're not
all prepared to let
that kind loose on the countryside.
Hawke: 'That kind', is it? You mean the kind of people that
your precious Chantry systematically abuses and murders? The kind that your
fraud Andraste would have wiped out?
Warden: You... you
blasphemer!Hawke: Oppressive scum!
Warden: Revolutionary thug!
Hawke: Idealistic coward!
