I also always end up killing the Architect. He felt a bit bumbling to me. Everything he does ended terribly. I don't really trust him to pull off any sort of master plan without borking it somehow.

Oh, and... Andersbutt.

The problem is his "master plan" involved experimenting with and possibly torturing and killing humans. I'm sorry, but no.

Haha, well, there's that too. But even if I really, really squint hard to understand his plan, I come back to him borking everything.

Whoops! The Fifth Blight started because of me, but I was just trying to help! :crying:

I was going to post horrible Anders mod for the ToP again, but I decided to spare you guys.

I thought the Anders thread if any would be sympathetic to someone that is trying to free their people.

Haha, well, there's that too. I didn't approve of his plan or his methods. But then on top of that, even if I really, really squint hard to understand his plan, I come back to him borking everything.

My canon Warden felt she had to give him a chance to at least try, in both her playthroughs.   After seeing what the terribly short Fifth Blight did, she preferred the option of sacrificing the few to save people from the chance of any more.  If he ended up lying to her though, she'd have gone hunting him down in a shot.

I haven't played through with another Warden as yet, so I'm not sure if I'd do the same again, it depends on which one does it.

Could be unleashing a bigger problem later. At least Grey Wardens know how to deal with Blights. How do you deal with a bunch of darkspawn tainting people and needing to transform them into broodmothers in order to reproduce? Posted Image

The killing or sparing the Architect was also one of those decisions that you can really tell aren't gonna matter much in the future. Theoretically, his research could change EVERYTHING, but the truth is it's unlikely there are gonna be such huge changes in future games based on a decision made on an expansion pack.

It's the same feeling I got from the whole God Baby business as well, I doubt it'll have any sort of relevance in the future.

I have no problem with him killing the Old Gods... except that he screws that up and starts a Blight. I also have no real problem with him waking up Darkspawn... except how many Wardens will he have to bleed to accomplish that and a lot of them seem to just want to keep killing everything.

However, it's his plan in "The Calling" that made up my mind for me. *SPOILERSif you haven't read it* His big plan means killing a huge chunk of the world and turning everyone else into, essentially, ghouls.

EDIT: Anyway, I understand well enough why people spare him and I wouldn't have a problem with BW writing him back in. I don't really want to argue about any of this here, though, since this is the Anders thread, and this has little to do with him.

Yeeeah that'd kinda not work with the whole "wardens cannot reproduce with other wardens without special means" problem, just kinda hanging there.

But I still spare him for the hopeful drama that may come from it.

Screw the world!

So long as I get to see Nathaniel again I don't care
So long as I get to keep Nate, Anders and Zev, the world can burn.

Some nice reactions of party members here to both Anders and Hawke falling. I like "the moody mage is down" from Aveline. And Isabela "Merrill, oh, blood mages are so dramatic!"

Oh and Anders "eew, it's still oozing" made me chuckle.

Sebollo X°°°°°D

I spared the Architect too...what is done is done, the Blight would have come anyway eventually. The possibility of avoiding completely other Blights was tempting. I even thought of the poor Grey Wardens...
Still, it is dangerous. Maybe if the Darkspawn "evolves" (meh, they seem pokemon like this), they could start to desire to live outside the Deep ROads, maybe even conquer some lands...it is a big risk...but it's not like mindless Darkspawn don't kill people anyway >.<

Same here, I don't think it will matter much If they decide that the Darkspawn will change somehow, it will Architect spared or not.

If anything, do it for how obviously Maric and Loghain were in love with each other.

I believe Ser Gaider mentioned the possibility of another book not too long ago.

EDIT

I think he said it in a topic about Wynne's son? Cannot remember. <_<

Hahaha I totally forgot about that part in the book. And now I'm remembering all those theories of Morrigan being Maric's daughter.

I'd rather have Malcolm Hawke, his adventures, and his forbidden love and steamy sexual encounters with the Templar Carver senior   for Leandra.

Yes.
Cassandra is too cool to just never see again. I'd like something post-chantry explosion too.
