Like in Act III you see them cutting down apprentices with ease.
Would taking down an experienced Archmage be so simple? Especially ones with rare, unheard of talents.

Arcane Warrior was chosen because for starters it's useful, and secondly, you wouldn't guess that he's a mage by looking at him.

I have a question. As most of you guys might have done this already.
Have any of you tried the rivalry path, side with templars, and Anders still stay with you at the end of the game? So far it seemed impossible.
It's the first time I try that path and I must admit it is so hard to be mean to Anders.
It is possible, but at the moment the rivalry ending path is bugged.

The fading in and out of vision is totally not a tell.

Should be fixed in patch 1.03 (just piggybacking on Batteries response).

Oh gosh I love that picture of Anders as the classic image of Justice with blindfold, scales and sword. It's... not a picture I ever had in mind before, but now it's stuck.

Good. it didn't make any sense - "I want to fix everything" - and there he is, ranting. My templar-siding non-andersmanced Hawke branded him as ultimate idiot and put down, when he came back. Funny he had the time to go back to Darktown, and change his clothes back.

Is that mean it is still plausible even befure the patch 1.03 is release? At the moment I am trying to just rival-friendship him (testing, so when the patch is up I know what's around the corner), and am bloody terrify he will walk off at any minute.

To be honest, I think in my Warden's case he spent his time freaking the templars out by shapeshifting into a bird and freaking them out that way (can the Templars tell...? Nah. DA2 proved that they're blind)
The downside:
Shale disapproves - infinity.<3

You remember the various conversations we had about Templars in DA2 being useless and unable to identify a mage, even when they're wearing "I'm a mage" signs?
Well, proof it was in Origins:

He won't leave if you side with the mages but as MG800 said his conversations make no sense during The Last Straw if you're rivaling him.
And yeah the clothing change was a bit of a "" issue.

Yeah, that part in Origins always made me go, "Uh... what?" My male Amell especially. I know you like to put on a dress and dance the remigold Alistair, but that's probably not why Amell was wearing a dress... or holding a staff. Sorry I forgot my "I'm a mage" sign that day.
Oh, and I forgot... Andersbutt.

What happen if Hawke is siding with the templar and max up the rivalry scale? I tried that to Fenris in my last playthough and he was okay to switch side. Will Anders do the same?
