Yeah, I tend to think of him as non-hairy, too. Probably because I used to dress him up in a Chasind-style mage robe in Awakenings, and you can see the whole chest with those. But he was a lot more tan back then. Now, he spends all his time in Darktown, so he's grown a little pale.

Maybe a happy trail, though. I could see that.

I think Anders being so pale and scrawny deliciously slim is definitely part of the reason I imagine him mostly hairless. I think if he was really hairy on top of those two things, it would be a little scary. The default male bodies in DA don't help matters either. Varric is the only man manly enough for chest hair, haha.

I could see a happy trail though. Just, not much hair elsewhere on his torso.

And about your signature - so we're married? And so does... everyone in this thread ?!

ahhh - did you miss the ceremony? yeah; we're all married here   :kissing:

To each other and to the thread :D

*is having a panic atack*
*sees 'open'*
*calms a bit*

Do you, Anderstians, take each other, and the thread, and most importantly Anders, to be the one you make fun of, but still love, in crazyness and in seriousness, for better or worse.
Will you scream collectively at the dreadful modding, repel all attempts to troll, and be patient in explaining to all comers the wonderousness that is Anders.
Will you post mildly nsfw pics and cute gifs, will you all go 'awww' at the kitten pics, and defend Anders right to love who the hell he pleases without prejudice.

I now pronounce you thread and spouse.  Let none make asunder what Bioware has put together.

*tearful* That was beautiful!

Hairy torso, smooth, or just a ginger happy trail?

I wouldn't say hairy exactly, but I do think he'd have some fuzz across his chest and down to his stomach. Given his perennial full-chin stubble I don't think he'd be hairless, but if his body hair was also blonde it might appear that way at first.

Conviced they were no better than abominations, the Anders Thread was determined to gain mastery over the madness inside themselves... or die trying. It is increasingly apparent that they are losing this struggle. Prone to wild mood swings between deep melancholy and manic determination, the Anders Thread has again taken up the mantle of freeing Anders from his pants- though it is unclear whether this decision came from Anders or the Anders Thread.

In private, the Anders Thread remains a tender and devoted lover to the Anders Thread; the Anders Thread has repeatedly declared that the Anders Thread is the only reason they have retained any sanity at all.

Oh, I never answered. For some reason I see Anders as a fairly hairless guy. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's to balance out that I figure m!Hawke is super hairy.

Hmm, I clearly have not thought enough about this if I can't give a good reason. Better think about it more... for science!

I dunno.. I think I'd go with the happy trail.

Happy trail for me too...I donìt know, completely smooth feels awkward to me xD

Answering the other questions...I think he would ask for freedom too. He clearly wants a normal life, would like to have a family of any sort, without the need of hiding or running away. I think Anders, not considering Justice influence, would desire not much more than a normal quiet life after all. Which makes him even more sad, he clearly just wants to be free to live, and being a mage doesn't even allow him this simple thing.
But, as of now, I don't think he could be separated from Justice, at least he can't without suffering some damage. We can speculate amnesia mabe? The more time it passes, the more we are pretty sure that separating Justice from Anders would damage his spirit...

I did promise some fanart this weekend. We'll see what can be done.

At least it is a request I will be happy to fill!

Regarding Anders' weight, he strikes me as a man who has always had trouble maintaining a healthy weight. In Awakenings, he was jovial and joking, but there was a tension under it that suggested some serioius stress. Now, he's living in his clinic and neglecting himself. They probably should have made his character model a bit thinner through the middle, but they probably wanted to avoid confusion with elves.

Speaking of Anders' clinic, has anybody else noticed the sheet-draped corpse in the back? You'd think he'd have that removed.

As for the demons...

Pride, I think, would offer him the ability to control Vengeance. He was cocky enough to believe he could take a spirit inside of him just as abominations do and survive intact, and Fenris even calls him out on it after Dissent. I think it was partly pride that lead him into the situation, and it would work to play on that and promise to give him back control. Not separation, but the ability to use Vengeance instead of Vengeance using him,.

Desire? Freedom. Only for himself, but freedom from being hunted, freedom from having to hide, freedom from the responsibilities he (or his demon) has taken upon himself. I don't think the demon would promise him the power to free the circles: desire demons play on selfishness, not idealism.

That's brilliant and so probable. He is very cocky in Awakening and probably thought that he was strong enough and talented enough to handle whatever the merger brought...

Now I want to see this play out.

This is a good one. I could see this happening, but I would think it would depend on when he got this offer.

If it happened soon after the incident with Ella, I would suppose it could swing either way. Either he would be so desperate to find a way to control Vengeance that he would take the offer or he would be depressed enough to realize it's impossible. Or rather, he would have lost enough belief in himself that no matter what the demon says he would be convinced he could no longer control the spirit inside of him.

Okay, so speaking of the Fade and demons and such, do you think that Feynriel would be able to help Anders with Justice? Not that he would be able to separate the two, but could he maybe do something else? Since Dreamers are able to enter and change the Fade at will, it seems like he would be able to do something. Maybe he would at least be able to do something to purify Vengeance and turn him into Justice again.

I dunno. Just my speculative rambling mostly.

That would be nice.  And greatly justify the trust Hawke places in him for letting him go.

I'm hiding here from the ME3 spoiler hounds.

Playing through Awakenings, after an Amell in Origins, doing a proper port and all, ran into Constable Aiden in Amaranthine. Well hello there rougher sounding Anders. Probably mentioned earlier but still excited anyway.

(gobbles on drawn Anders nose *nom nom*. Too bad though, loved Alistair's too, but DA2 Alistair... wishes there was a mod for a DA2 Alistair to look more like Origins).

Not enough information to brand this as possible or impossible. We've only been introduced to a 'dreamer' concept. It'll probably play some role in DA3, it's too powerful to leave it like that, especially in the times of mage war.
Intresting idea though.

There are quite a few Alistair mods floating around, some better than others. THIS one is probably the best one I have seen, in terms of getting him back closer to what his DAO self looked like, without turning him into some Abercrombie beefcake. He is 7 years older, after all. :)

Oh for crying out loud, ToP and it's not even an Anders post.. Here, have my crappy doodle.

I'm not sure he could, since Vengeance is physically inside of Anders at this point. I believe that it took over in Night Terrors simply because in the Fade, its "birthplace", Vengeance's consciousness is stronger than Anders'.
Given that it appeared in Anders' form rather than as a spirit or demon in its own right, I think it's an indication that they think of themselves as one being or have merged so far as to find it hard to distinguish the two selves.
Trying to manipulate or cleanse that would, to me, be akin to trying to... remove a brain tumour, maybe. Possible, perhaps, but incredibly delicate work with potentially horrible consequences if you slip up.

I would think that the best course of Fade-related action is take a hands-off approach. Vengeance was short with us in Feynriel's quest because it felt we should be "focusing on the task at hand" (maker, how I hate that line) rather than chatting, but if we could get someone in there to just talk to it (hopefully the Warden, given how aces our Wardens were with Intimidate/Persuade checks), and maybe show it how much it has been warped and is breaking the person who was its friend, there might be a slim chance we could somehow get it to listen to reason.

Yes, I'm suggesting therapy for the Fade demon. Shut up.
