Bolded "depressing".
Tell me when they avoided doing something because it was "depressing". They just feed on our tears, we know that. I'm prepared (not really) for moar drama.

Haha. Well, I'm not saying BW wouldn't do it. Just that, unlike the other LIs, Hawke is sort of keeping Anders together. Which means, knowing BW he will be left behind, and I will be depressed. Since we haven't seen what happens yet, I am just getting depressed in advance. ;)

I hope the Warden and Hawkedidn't get dragged off somewhere to be killed. That would suck. Or worse them being changed into some boss battle because they're being mind controlled.

I miss "BIBBITY BOBBITY Justice!" Much more endearing than the new title…

And on another note…

A surprisingly well-made Marian Hawke/Anders music video. Without a tacky song! It's for those fangirls/boys. Don't bother clicking the link if you know you won't like what you'll see. :innocent:

You have just broken my mind.
They would make us suicide in a way...kill our character...kill our virtual selves o.O
I don't even want to explore the psychological involmements of this thing...

Maybe it is better if DA3 starts with them already dead, the hell o.o

Now I'm even imagining Sandal as a boss.

I'm glad I'm not the only DA2 fan familiar with that song. Oh Cowboy Bebop…Probably the only anime I'm not ashamed to admit my love for.<3

I wasn't prepared for ToP though :D Here you have just the perfect image for the post.

I always got the impression that the Warden disappeared WITH the LI. At least in my Zev-mance run I got an epilogue slide to the effect of "They disappeared to kill Crows together. Or something. Nobody really knows for sure. But they did it together." and the Morrigan-mancers can just jump into the Eluvian with her.

But man, Hawke just up and disappearing leaving Anders behind? I think he would break.

It seemed, for the most part, like the Wardens disappeared with their LI. I don't think this is the case if you marry King Alistair, though. His epilogue seemed to suggest that only the Warden disappeared. I assume this is because he's still important to the plot so they can't have the king vanish, or something. Although it suggests that, if BW wants them for the plot, the LI can be left behind.

Although, having the LI vanish as well really makes me wonder where Hawke and the Warden vanish off to. Some sort of Hero breeding program? Lol.

I had the impression the Warden was still around during DA2 events. Alistair and Zevran both say that they have to return to their lovers.
So, the real disappearance for me starts after DA2, when Cassandra is interrogating Varric.

Is there a master list of the songs this thread has come up with for Anders? I'd like to listen and add some to my playlist, but I don't know if I could bear going through 1000+ pages to find any mention of songs.

If not, that's cool! I'll just have to steel myself for a lot of rereading. ^_^

I maintain that Flemeth has some sort of Ferelden Hero Trophy Cabinet, where she puts the Heros whose lives she saves after they influence the world in the way she wants. Maric, the Warden and Hawke are all chilling in a cabinet somewhere with Fiona, LI 1 and LI 2.

That's my take on the situation anyway.

Edit: Or they've pulled an Elijah and gone straight to the Maker's side having skipped the whole dying thing.

This link should take you to it. If not, just go back half a dozen pages or  so and look for a post by Threeparts. The playlist link is in her signature.

EDIT: I should say, that's not every song that people have ever mentioned in this thread, but it's a good sized collection of them.

Justice was one of my least favorite companions in Awakening, but I don't put all the blame on him. Anders was also a part of their merger and it was his hatred that corrupted Justice into Vengeance. So, while I might wish there was a way to separate them again, if I can't do that, I would rather do what I can to help both Justice and Anders.

I don't want to kill Justice. I'm sure it is terrible when Justice takes over- Anders says as much- but that also means Justice is living through something horrible.

Looking at the youtube videos of what Anders says if you betray him in the Fade, I really did feel bad for Anders but I ended up feeling just as bad for Justice. Anders says, "I don't like being a passenger in my own skin. I suppose Justice feels like that every day, shackled in my body and every decision I make. No wonder it's become a prison for him."

Part of what Anders was offering in the merger was his body. Instead of having a corpse as a body, Justice would now share a body with Anders. I don't agree to Justice just taking over but... I dunno. It feels like part of the deal. Even if Anders couldn't foresee Justice being corrupted, you'd think he'd realize he'd be sharing the body some of the time at least.

This is why I can't hate Justice.  Imagine thinking you would go into this partnership and then discovering that you're basically stuffed in a closet to stew while someone else carries you around and forces you to do what he wants.  It's also your first time in a body that eats and...y'know, eliminates, feels pain, and has desires.  The poor thing is traumatized and has nothing to do in there but simmer in his own frustration.  It's no wonder he goes nuts!

If it's a King/Queen ending, then only Queenie Cousland runs off. But I kinged Alistair and stayed on as his chancellor/booty call and he supposedly runs off with me into the sunset/deep roads/probably the Normandy at this rate.

I can't see a deeply in love Hawke/Anders splitting up willingly, but there's nothing to say that Hawke can't finally get tired of Anders, either. Fickleness or guilty conscience or whatever reason.

So I finally got around to updating my Anders animation. Since we've been talking about Justice all day, it ended up with more Justice in it. I honestly have no idea where this is going anymore, haha.

Anders animation... now with kitties and tears!

Daww. So cute. "Hawke!" "Kitty!" <3

I still think Justice sneezing is adorable.  But I love the "Hawke!" part, too.

tbh I think both the warden and Hawke would have to be forceably removed from their LIs in their disappearance. If not then Bioware is 'Assuming direct control' of your characters and making decisions for them which would not go down well among the fans at all. Both my Warden and Hawke would never give up their LI willingly so I'm guessing they've probably got themselves in some sort of trouble...

Both the Warden and Hawke have contacts in all sorts of organisations and groups, so they'd hear about things that went on long before anyone else. I'm sure they are thought of as Big Damn Heroes (or Big Damn Villains, as the case may be) by groups as disparate as the Grey Wardens, the Crows, the Dalish, the Legion of the Dead, the Divine, the Qunari, and Maker knows who else.

I like to think that they've been contacted by one (or several) of these groups about **** Going Down somewhere off-screen and have been recruited to do battle or go undercover or something else that would make use of their unique skill sets. Like Varric says, our heroes have experience in matters of Weird. Having them just disappear into the mists of history would be as incredibly unsatisfying as the heroes going "over the Sea" at the end of Lord of the Rings.

If they're gone forever, I want to have them pass into recorded history as great heroes and leaders of people, one of whom passed into the Deep Roads and was last seen leading a battalion of Legionaires against the Darkspawn, and the other of whom was cut down during The Battle of Cumberland. Even if it happens off-screen, it would be a far more satisfying ending than "and then they disappeared for ever after and it's up to *~your imagination~* to decide their ending! :wizard:"

*grumbles* ****ing cop-out bull**** way to tell a ****ing story grrrr *grumbles*

Which is, of course, the rub. We can't control that, because some of us play characters that aren't madly in love with our romantic partners. My Warden Amell will raise hell and high water if someone pulls her from Alistair. My Anders-romanced mage Hawke won't fight as hard if they have to separate. I agree that if we are split up from the LI, the idea will be that it's against our will/for the greater good, simply because there's no way to code that sort of inference.

But the LI is always in love with their romantic partner, even Morrigan. Really, it's sort of a moot point, because we don't know what happened. For all we know the Warden and LI went off to investigate some sort of Deep Roads thing and Hawke and LI froze to death in the Vimmark Mountains.
