Poor Justice. Even though he's a Dom he's still Hawke's b****.

That's understandable, but on the other hand, he goes from being an uber-mage to being weaker than Merrill when you compare stats. How can you lose magical capacity and mana when he appears after Awakening is completed?Threeparts wrote...

So someone please explain to me how Anders "forgot" all the spells he knew in Awakening, lost his inventory, and lost his Level 34?
One would think something more than Ser Pounce-a-Lot memories would carry over from an imported save - mine was from The Nest, standing with Morrigan at the mirror, at Level 34.
It's the difference between game mechanics and story-telling. He didn't "forget" or "lose" anything, it was simply the demands of a new game with a new system of specialisations, skills, inventories and levelling. Learning to divorce the reality of what is possible because the game needs it to be so, and what is possible because the story requires it is really RPG 101.
The time you spent with those characters wasn't a waste any more than the time you spent playing a game in the past that you haven't revisited. New game, new rules.

Gamplay and story segregation? They're not going to give anyone a level 34 mage when all other characters are barely level 5, that would just make the game ridiculous XDVarus Torvyn wrote...

In my first playthrough he was a damn god. Anders bugged and when I loaded the game "Enchant weapon" Bugged and enchanted Anders instead, which acted like Vengeance being activated minus the draw backs...so he was a casting maniac that was healing like no one knows, casting spells into oblivion...all while glowing red from the staff...It was beautiful.

Awesome glitch is awesome.![]()
On the note of Anders losing his abilities I do miss him having the spirit healer tree. Pancea is okay but just not as good :/

Hmm...acceptable.
One thing I don't understand is how in the Fade, Justice activates "Vengeance", yet I don't have it enabled - it's completely blacked out, I never chose that for Anders.
And since it isn't, you can't deactivate it.

Yeah I agree there. There were a few times I was swearing up and down that he didn't have it. Also is he the only companion where he "own" tree doesn't upgrade anything? That also made me sad panda...unless Echant weapon bugs again, then I don't care, he is in god mode.

I think you can upgrade Vengeance...once. But otherwise...yeah.

Sadly I almost never bother going that way >_>
I have this weird thing in my head that going the healing route is helping him remember what he loves: helping people, kittens, knitting....
Where going down the Vengeance side you letting Vengrnce consume him and then I feel dirty also afraid my Hawke will wake up in the middle of the night with Venders standing over her smiling and saying something like "I know what anger is, now I want to know what desire is..." but not in a loving voice...more like I am to make you hate me voice
If you haven't noticed Anders rivalmance scares me ****less...however so didn't Fenris's...both men are beastly monsters...

I head canon it as Rival Hawke and Justice had angry sex once and Justice refuses to come out for very long lest their be a repeat. He has imprints of Anders' feelings for Hawke running around inside him so he's as much of a hot mess as Anders. (On that note I wonder how much Anders' emotions affect Justice?) Could explain why he doesn't try to kill a rivalrymance Hawke. No matter how angry he gets he still loves Hawke and would be highly hesitant to kill Hawke unless there was no other option.
Of course there's no evidence in game or anything but still. It amuses me so I headcanon it that way.![]()
I also RP it as Anders getting used to controlling Justice's powers during combat but otherwise remaining himself.

Thats...so hott...you have given me strength to rivalmance Anders...of course that is after the patch...I want my templar ending without me cheating it. You also gave me a new love for it as well.

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm still not a fan of Anders...
... but I'm working on a small project about him, it's silly and hopefully will work out as I have it in my head. Expect it soonish or tommorow.

Sort-of related: Who do you think did most of the writing for The Last Straw? I'm thinking Hepler because of Anders having such a big role, though it could have been Gaider ... *confused*

I can't decide if that's hilarious or horrible.
We'll go with "hilarrible."
