I actually gave all my Hawkes stubbles and beards now just to make that particular adjective less awkward.

I got that feeling too.  You don't have to be snarky to him to get Anders to talk a little about his past.  You get more insight into the man, verus F!Hawke.  That goes around you talking about Karl and Anders having a fling.  Which isn't mentioned or pointed at if you play a female...which I think is stupid, one I want the dialogue without being an ass to him and also would have made turning you down great because Hawke would be thinking "If only I had a staff." LOL

I'm going with general appearance too, it tends to get used for general unkemptness in the UK rather than being unshaved.  Either that or my grandmother was being really odd when making comments about me being a scruffy urchin when I was young.

Yeah that makes sense. Add that to having to fight everytime you set foot somewhere at night and it makes sense.

But then f!Hawke gets told she's kind, wise and beautiful.   Both have their advantages, I wouldn't say either was way better than the other, personal preference of the player aside.

Yeah that makes sense. Add that to having to fight everytime you set foot somewhere at night and it makes sense.

Lewl, his name is Lenox... he's a bit scruffy I think? That hair is kind of messy... I dunno. How do people define scruffy?

A man without at least some stubble is useless to me *glares at Sebastian* Fenris is excluded because he's an elf.

That one's beautiful too. I think its probably because its got Fenris in it too and I'm torn on which one I <3 more. That, and I'm currently obsesses with that particular song, even if the artist herself is not exactly my favorite.. at all .. >.> Its not even my genre.

This is how I feel, too. 

I feel like he is just as attracted to a female Hawke as he is a male Hawke (considering he gives rivalry if you reject him on either path), but with a female it seems more like it bends him emotionally and he goes down that stupid "This is the path to woe! Be careful!" thing, while with a male it's more physical, so he can keep it at "Hey, I think you're cute. Is that cool?" level.

I'm pretty not romantic but I could appreciate his lines to female Hawke in Act 1 if he would have responded to her "I can take care of myself" with something like "I know you can, but I really don't want to put you in that situation", which is how I've chosen to take it and which comes off as less...*sigh* sexist.

For the "scruffy" thing, since Ferelden is pretty much the Thedas equivalent of England, the term likely applies to Hawke having a bedragled/messy/rough appearance.
