What does Cassandra actually think happened? I'd love to know the main story that's doing the round in Ferelden.

Hot apostate blows up Chantry and Knight Commander turns herself into a statue of corrupted lyrium for a giggle?

From innuendo in David Gaider posts it's my impression that Ferelden has enough of it's own trouble without worry about what goes on in the rest of Thedas. Let alone what happened to the rude knight commander lady. Heh.

But if it was a big enough event for all the circles to rebel, then there must be some version of the story doing the rounds?

I get that Cassandra thought that they'd all come together from Ferelden to plot it from the start, but it's the bits and pieces that are corroborated that'd be nice to know. Where did their story differ? One of the things I really like from DA2 is the deault options for the history -my Xbox died between the two and I've lost all my saved games!!!! - It gives you an idea of which direction the devs want the story to move.

Edit for top! *please work*

gah, cannot make posting a picture work. Would someone IM and tell me how please. :wizard:

One thing I've noticed, that drives me nuts - flirting with the guy always cuts off all the interesting stories about the circle! You can't have the stories, then flirt, an flirting ends the conversation. I always end up doing each quest conversation twice - once to get the background info, and imagine its a conversation they have at home, and one to actualy progress the romance.

This drives me absolutely batty. I do the same thing with the reloading, because there's a lot of good stuff you miss out on. Especially the conversation where kissy time happens, there's a whole bunch of stuff you miss out on because of that.

Reason No.9803# to miss the DA:O companion-discussions.
DA:2 is only mildly more annoying than Mass Effect and the:

Can I talk to you?
Not now Shepard, I'm busy.
(Hellooo!? I am your mother****ing commander and I will tell you when you are busy!!!)

it does kinda make sense in my playthrough. rebellious Amell defeates blight and frees circle, rebellious Amell Hawke arrives in kirkwall and **** hits the fan, circles free themselves. these cousins must have communiqued right?  B)

Haha - I like it. :D.
It's about time the magic was freed anyway, I'd want plenty of people knowing what they're doing with magic when "the magic returns". Sandal gives me the heebiejeebies.

(My) Commander Shep would like her crew to know that they must either learn to multitask, or GTFO off her damn ship. Kthanx.

(Except Thane, who ought to stay focused on the mission at hand.  And Jack. Jack can do what she wants. Also, in ME3, I want Jack and a friendship option.)

That's it! Now you all have my brain churning and I'm going to have to stop everything and rewrite the DA2 timeline to match my changes to the DAO timeline. Because Anders has to make sense!

Seriously though, perhaps more than a year passes between the first year and the actual deep roads expedition. It actually makes more sense to me that all the events were stretched out much more than we are lead to believe.

And, technically, you're not his commander. Really. He's neither Alliance (in ME) or Cerberus (ME2) and never actually falls under Shepard's command in any official capacity.

And DA2 to ME2 is superior in that you can actually have conversations with your non-romanced LIs, whereas in ME2 not being able to woo a character gave you, like, half as much to talk about. As a matter of fact, it seems like they went out of their way to ensure that you didn't have to woo a companion to complete their full character arcs.

Apparently, the Chantry refused to give the Circle autonomy, and there was nothing Alistair/Anora could do. Probably adding to anti-chantry sentiments, and Anders' own rage.

Sandal has really got my interest with that prophecy of his. Can't wait to see what he means...

I don't think Anders is *that* old in Awakening. 26 tops. Like I said before, he's pretty much in between Alistair (21/22) and Nathaniel (30) as far as how he looks and comes across to me. Also, when DG shot down him being Duncan's son w. random Circle mage, he said "a bit too old." Were he in his 30's, I imagine he'd have used a more substantial qualifier than "bit".

That sounds about right for me too.
27 when he meets Hawke clicks well with me. Definitely in his 30s in Act III either way I imagine.

I have more issues with Isabela being a widowed pirate at 16.

How so? (I haven't romanced Izzy yet, I have no idea how her full story goes aside from sold to her husband, then her husband got killed by Zev and they became sex-buddies-for-life (or at least until the Warden sunk his claws in))

Well, it's more because I can't see a 16 year old girl surviving very long as a pirate.

I'll laugh because I don't want to cry.
I've seen what's supposed to be Fenris in the "Merrill" screenshot.
Aveline is so plain it hurts, seems a random npc around Kirkwall. Isabela...it's just not right.
Anders eyebrows are lol, and suddenly he has some Howe's nose.

As I said, I'm not against a bit of modding with hairstyles and colors or textures...but I don't see the point of changing the face. You might like it or not, but changing the face you are like changing the character...it doesn't feel right at all >.<

Something does happen with the circle if you ask for that boon according to Leliana.

We just don't know what.
