Anders is sooo squishy in vengeance mode o_O, even with tactics to go panacea and group heal at 50% health, but he looks so cool all glowy lol.
Stupid carta backstabbing rogues seem to go straight for mages and one shot them....

I never put the poor guy in Vengeance mode, lol.  I figure I don't need three DPS mages; he can heal and buff while my Hawke and Merrill get their blood mage murdering on

Just when you're leaving the Chantry. You can't switch the party members on the way out, though, so you pretty much have to be solo for the whole thing.

Yes I have him as heal/buff but put him in vengeance for martyr which reduces his heal cooldown considerably and bumps up his mana regen. It means he can spam heal and haste.... but martyr also reduces his health so have to switch vengeance off at 50% health so he can heal. Sometimes though he just dies too fast to switch modes o_O. Some guy did a post on it and posted the tactics and when it works it's great the heal cooldown drops heaps as does the haste cooldown, but if he gets targetted by one of those carta assassin's it's all over.
Just though I'd try it this time as he never gets to be glowy Anders in my game normally I just have to get used to dying a bit more lol.

Thanks!  Will totally try it when I'm not exhausted from DMing for a bunch of slightly drunk friends.  I wish I had a squirt gun or a newspaper or something so I could get them to shut up.

It's ok, though, I got to give them all a heart attack with a giantanormous blood elemental from a Cyricist tome.

It's ok, I'm happy with trapping their poor rogue on one side of an enormous earthen rampart that sent them all flying, then beating the crap out of him with the blood elemental while everyone else keeps getting pelted with fire and death from Cyricist cultists.  I do love my players

LOL I have been there but normally everyone is scared ****less I will bring out STFU damage rogues when they get to out of hand >_> I have killed players with them before.

1) I refuse to let this thread die. 4 hours since a last post? My faith as an Anderstian is shaken.

2) I was re-listening to the femHawke dialogue by m!Hawke and I saw another video with Anders' rivalry dialogue. I don't know if this was already posted and I missed it, but it's the saddest thing I've heard in the game and it will absolutely break your heart. I know people use this as an excuse to kill Anders, but man it just makes me want to save him even more. He's so desolate, so without hope...I really don't know how I'll ever be able to rival him if he sounds like this after the patch (not that I've succeeded in rivaling him yet; I'm too pro-mage).
