Bhelen is the type to sell to both sides. It's someone else's war and he gets to make a ton of profit. Although because the Chantry controls the lyrium trade officially, he might want to see them overthrown so he doesn't lose as much coin to the smugglers. I don't think this would extend to him actually helping. Well not officially. He's a subtle schemer.

My issue with that is how much money would the mages have compared to the Chantry. Sure there's some rich mages but how many were completely cut off from their families, how many of their families don't want them nearby. Lyirum is not cheap.

And agreed about the dalish and other countries. IDon't see Fereldan gettin involved unless they had something to gain. Especially not with Orlais breathing down their neck.

That's true, but I feel like as long as someone had the money to buy it, Bhelen would be willing to sell. Leliana and Fenris mention something about the Resolutionists being funded by the Magisters, so the Tevinters might funnel money into the mage cause. Who knows.

Edit for top attempt:

True Tevinter maybe willing to give them support. However I don't see Tevinter as being pro-mage freedom. Especially not given the fact that they have their own circles and are built off slavery. If Tevinter is helping for any reason it would probably be to bring the Chantry and all countries affilated with it down.

Helping for any reason is still helping. If they want the Chantry to fall, having an open mage rebellion that they didn't have to start and don't have to fight in but can just fund is a good way to go about doing it. Then, once there is chaos everywhere, just swoop in and take over again. Or just swoop in and slave-raid like there's no tomorrow. All that chaos will be good for slaving.

The issue with that is I'm pretty certain they'd lose allies if it was known they were allying with Tevinter. (The mages I mean.) It would be enough to probably turn everyone except the dwarves (and that's assumming they'd help) against them. They can't really afford that.

Unless they kept the alliance secret. And that didn't seem to be their goal in DA2.

No I completely agree, allying with Tevinter will only make the mages look bad. I can just see why, from a Tevinter standpoint, it could be a good idea to support the mages, even if only in secret. Granted they could just be too busy with the Qunari to do anything about it. Apologies for any incoherency today, I'm a little sleep deprived.

Sometimes I just wish I could have a main character in DAIII that can just screw everyone over at least once at some point.

The interesting thing with Tevinter is that we've have opinions based on the Chantry's explaination of the empire. They may not be as bad as they've been painted so far. Admittedly just about every Tevinter we've met has tried to kill us, but so has half of Ferelden and Kirkwall.

Ah true. It would be good for Tevinter but terrible for the mages. Don't worry about being sleep deprived. I just woke up :P

I'm such a lazy cat on Sundays.

You also forgot how well Fenris colored then and his master also a nice work of art.  If I am not mistaken Fenris told Anders that if he didn't practice blood magic he would be made a slave.

Tevinter might not be as bad as people make it out to be, but I doubt it isn't much worse.

If Feynriel goes to Tevinter, he also reports it is an awful place with rampant slavery.

I was surprised that when Wynne planned to go there with Shale, she had nothing to say about it.  Oddly out of character for her.

True enough I forgot about the letter and Wynne.  However with Wynne I think it comes down to her wanting to help a friend over her fear/hatred of the place.  Not to mention people will give pause on attacking someone with Shale at their side...I know I would at least.

I basically just laugh at Fenders, the pairing it's absurd but cracks me up. Plus, good artwork is good...and some Fenders is really good xD

Agreed. This comic is perfect because of the way she's drawing everyone. Otherwise....eh. Fenders. *doesn't get it at all*

I feel that if those two did it in game, and got their frustrations out with some good sex they would get along. Or just pulled out their weapons and let Hawke decide who's was bigger.

Doing a mega replay of the whole DA series now to be a mage the whole way through. I always played it a bit goodytwo shoes but after DA2 I'm gonna play angsty mage :D The Amell girls do not like being locked up ;)

So... to bring it back on topic... anyone good with the time lines, would our warden have been in the tower at the same time as Anders?
